FITTING THE IPHONE CHARGER
CAUTION
Extreme care must be taken when mounting the iPhone
charger on a motorcycle or scooter. Read this document
carefully before fitting the charger. The charger shall be
mounted in compliance with the relevant legislation and the
vehicle manufacturer's rules. Failure to mount the charger
correctly could result in damage to your vehicle and serious
injury to the vehicle rider and other road users. The iPhone
charger is fitted on your motorcycle or scooter at your own
risk. In doubt, always refer to a qualified professional.
CHARGER CABLE
The power cable shall be routed to avoid sharp bends,
abrasion, overheating, exhaust gases and battery acids and
other potential hazards. It must not be strained nor distorted
by e.g. excessive tightening of cable ties. Ensure that all
connections are mechanically and electrically safe and
secure. Keep away from heat sources and vehicle controls.
It must not hinder the operation of safety equipment nor
interfere with the driver’s ability to control the vehicle.
The charger has a total cable length of 3200 mm to the
quick release connector. It is long enough to accommodate
most types of motorcycles or scooters and be hidden within
the fairing. Excess length should be dealt with by rolling the

www.twistyride.com 6
excess cable into a 10 cm bundle and securing it to a fixed
part of the motorcycle using zip ties or electrician tape.
FITTING INSTRUCTIONS
In order to fit the charger, first pass the cable of the charger
through the fairing / body of the vehicle such that the
following is validated in order:
1. The quick release connector has enough leeway to
allow the rider to plug / unplug it easily from the
dashboard;
2. The quick release connector has enough leeway to
allow the iPhone connector to be plugged into the
iPhone without restricting any movement of the
handlebars;
3. The cable is as hidden from view as possible;
4. The cable is secured to the body of the vehicle
every 10 cm using zip ties or electrician tape;
5. The power converter is secured to the body of the
vehicle (zip ties / electrician tape);
6. The on / off switch is easily accessible from the
outside of the bike;
7. The on / off switch is secured to the body of the
vehicle (zip ties / electrician tape);
8. The battery connectors can reach their respective
battery poles (red to + and black to -).

Once the cable is positioned correctly, it is time to connect
the battery connectors to the battery terminals. The steps
below must be followed in order:
1. Disconnect the negative terminal (black / -) of the
battery first. The negative terminal is the main
power link, so disconnecting it cuts off power to the
motorcycle. The positive terminal is usually red, so
disconnect the other one. To disconnect the
terminal, unscrew the bolt on it until the battery
cable can be removed and securely tucked away.
2. Disconnect the positive terminal (red / +) of the
battery.
3. Insert the red battery connector on the positive
terminal of the battery and screw the bolt back in
position. This will pinch both the original battery
cable and the charger cable. This means the
positive terminal is now connected.
4. Insert the black battery connector on the negative
terminal in a similar fashion. The motorcycle is now
operational again.
5. Verify that the LED indicator on the power
converter can be turned on and off by pressing the
on / off button.
6. Keep the charger turned off when not in use as it
would otherwise drain the battery.
