WhereshouldEnuresisSensorsbelocated?

Thecottonsheetshouldbeplacedbetweenthebottomsheetandthemattresstodetectinstancesofenuresis.
Analarmwillberaisedimmediatelymoistureisdetectedtherebyalleviatingcarersfrommakingregularcheckswhichcanbe
intrusiveandunwelcome.


Installation

ItiseasiertoregistertheEnuresissensorbeforeinstallation–seebelow.

1. Removethebottomsheetfromthebed.

2. Placethecottonsheetacrossthewidthofthebedatapointwhere
thepelvicareaofthepersonwillbewhenlyingdown.
Thesidewiththevisiblepatternofelectrodesshouldbeplaceduppermost
withthepressstudconnectionsaccessible.
Ifnecessaryatowelcanbeplacedoverthesheettomakeitlesssensitive.

3. Connecttheleadtothecottonsheetusingoneofthepairsofpressstuds
(itdoesn’tmatterwhich),seeimagebelow;

4. Ensurethewireexitssafelywithoutcausingahazard.

5. Refitthebottombedsheet.

6. Removethebatterycoverfromtheinterfaceunitandconnectthebattery.

7. Plugtheleadintotheinterfaceunitandmakesureitisplacedsafely
outofthewayunderthebed.


TestingandRegisteringtheEnuresisSensor

Placeametalobjectacrossthe2un‐usedpressstuds
onthecottonsheettoactivate.

TheRED“ACTIVATED”lightwillflashforabout8seconds
whenanEnuresisalarmisbeingtransmitted.

TheEnuresissensormustbeactivatedwhenlearning
ontothewardencall,at‐homealarmorNursecallsystem.

Seethefollowingpagesforhowtoputeachofthese
productsintoregistrationmode.

Therangeofallradiodevicescanbeaffectedbytheworkingenvironment‐alwaystakecareduringinstallationand
performseveraltestcalls.







TheEnuresissensortransmitterhasa15minutemasktimetopreventthesamealarm
callre‐reportingseveraltimes.ThereisafacilityforEngineerstooverridethismask
timeandtestthebatteryatthesametime.

Whenthesensorisactivatedthealarmcallwillbetransmittedonce,nofurther
transmissionswilloccurfor15minutesgivingtimeforthecausetobecleared.

Tooverridethemasktime;openthecase,pressandholdBUTTON1onthetransmitter
for2secondsuntiltheREDlightflashesonce.AfterashortdelaytheREDlightwillflashoncemore
toindicatethemasktimeisresetandthebatterypowerisOK.IftheREDlightflashesseveraltimesthebatterypowerislow.


DisconnectafteranAlarm

Itisadvisabletodisconnectthecottonsheetassoonaspossibleafteranalarmisdetected.
Prolongedconnectionwhiledampcanresultinsomecosmeticstaining.


CleaningtheCottonSheet

Unplugtheconnectingleadbeforelaundering.
Formaximumlife(50washes)washat60oCandhangtodryinawarmroom(i.e.donottumbledry).
Alternatively,washat85oCwithamediumheattumbledrybutexpectareducedlifeof30washes.
Donotuseafabricconditioner–thiswillmakethesheetwaterproof.
Ifthesheetdevelopsbrownstainingaroundtheelectrodesconsultthemanufacturerforcleaninginstructions.

Maintenance

TheEnuresissensorshouldbeactivatedperiodicallytochecktheelectrodesinthecottonsheethavenot
beendamagedinthewash–seeTestingandRegisteringonpage1.



BatteryLife

Thebatteryischeckedonceaday,ifthevoltagefallsandstaysbelowapresetlevelfor7consecutivedaysalowbatteryalertis
automaticallytransmitted.Oncealowbatterycallisreceivedthebatteryshouldbereplacedwithin7days.
