You will need the manual for the safety warnings and precautions, assembly
instructions, operating and maintenance procedures, parts list and diagram. Keep
your invoice with this manual. Write the invoice number on the inside of the front
cover. Keep the manual and invoice in a safe and dry place for future reference.
Safety Warnings and Precautions
WARNING: When using tool, basic safety precautions should always be fol-
lowed to reduce the risk of personal injury and damage to equipment.
Read all instructions before using this tool!
1. Keep work area clean. Cluttered areas invite injuries.
2. Observe work area conditions.Keep work area well lit. Do not use electrically
powered tools in the presence of flammable gases or liquids.
3. Keep children away. Children must never be allowed in the work area. Do not
let them handle machines, tools, or extension cords.
4. Store idle equipment. Always lock up tools and keep out of reach of children.
5. Use the right tool for the job. Do not modify this tool and do not use this tool for
a purpose for which it was not intended.
6. Dress properly. Protective, electrically nonconductive clothes and nonskid
footwear are recommended when working. Wear restrictive hair covering to
contain long hair.
7. Use eye and ear protection. Always wear ANSI approved impact safety goggles
when working with tools or equipment.
8. Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. Do not reach
over or across running machines.

9. Maintain tools with care. Keep tools maintained and clean for better and safer
performance. Inspect tool cords periodically and, if damaged, have them repaired
by a qualified technician.The handles must be kept clean, dry, and free from oil
and grease at all times.
10. Disconnect power.Unplug battery charger when not in use.
11. Stay alert. Watch what you are doing, use common sense. Do not operate any
tool when you are tired.
12. Check for damaged parts. Before using any tool, any part that appears damaged
should be carefully checked to determine that it will operate properly and perform
its intended function. Any part that is damaged should be properly repaired or
replaced by a qualified technician. Do not use the tool if any switch does not turn
On and Off properly.
13. Replacement parts and accessories. When servicing, use only identical
replacement parts. Use of any other parts will void the warranty. Only use
accessories intended for use with this tool. Approved accessories are available
from Harbor Freight Tools.
14. Do not operate tool if under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Read warning
labels on prescriptions to determine if your judgment or reflexes are impaired
while taking drugs. If there is any doubt, do not operate the tool.
15. Use proper size and type extension cord. If an extension cord is required, it
must be of the proper size and type to supply the correct current to the tool
without heating up. Otherwise, the extension cord could melt and catch fire, or
cause electrical damage to the tool.This tool requires use of an extension cord
of 0 to 10 amps capability (up to 50 feet), with wire size rated at 18 AWG. Longer
extension cords require larger size wire. If you are using the tool outdoors, use
an extension cord rated for outdoor use (signified by “WA” on the jacket).
16. Maintenance. For your safety, service and maintenance should be performed
regularly by a qualified technician.
Note: Performance of the battery charger may vary depending on variations
in local line voltage. Extension cord usage may also affect tool performance.
Warning: The warnings, cautions, and instructions discussed in this
instruction manual cannot cover all possible conditions and situations
that may occur.It must be understood by the operator that common sense
and caution are factors which cannot be built into this product, but must
be supplied by the operator.

Working with the Rechargeable Battery
LED Functions of Light and Charger:The LED’s will provide the current status
of the Charger and Battery.
1. There is a colored indicator LED on the Work Light. When the Power Switch is in
the ON position and the battery needs to be recharged, this light will come on
and appear Red.NOTE:If the battery is completely dead, neither the LED lights
nor the indicator LED will come on.
2. There is a colored indicator LED on the Charger. With the Work Light in the
cradle, and the Charger plugged in, this light indicates the current status of the
battery. While the battery is charging, this light will be Red. When the battery is
fully charged, this light will turn Green. The Green light will remain on, and the
battery will continue to receive a trickle charge for as long as the Charger remains
plugged in.
3. During charging, the Indicator LED on the Work Light will turn off.
Charging the Battery:
1. Battery packs are normally shipped with low or no charge to prevent potential
problems during shipment. Before use, you must charge your new battery pack.
NOTE: Rechargeable batteries will not reach full charge the first time they are charged.
Allow several cycles (operation followed by recharging) before the battery will be-
come fully charged.
BatteryTemperatureWarning:
WARNING: Battery explosion may cause serious personal or property injury.Charge
the battery only within a 50° to 100° temperature range. Lower temperatures may
inhibit charging. Higher temperatures increase chance of battery failure, including
explosion.
2. Charge the battery pack only with the included charger. Use of other chargers
may cause battery failure including explosion.
3. Ensure that the battery charger is connected to a properly grounded, circuit
breaker protected, 120 VAC power supply only.
4. Connect the charger to the power supply, by plugging it in.
5. Insert the Work Light into the Charger, and press the Light into place.The Work
Light should be turned Off during charging.
6. The red LED light will come on, indicating that the battery is charging.
7. The red LED should remain on for approximately 3 hours while the battery charges.
Once charged, the Charger LED will change to Green indicating full charge.

NOTE: The green LED will remain on until the battery pack is removed from the
charger, or the charger is disconnected from the power source.
8. After normal use, a minimum of 1 hour recharging time is required to recharge a battery.
9. During recharging, the battery pack will become slightly warm to the touch.This
is normal and not a cause for concern.
10. When the battery is fully charged, as indicated by the green LED, unplug the
battery charger and remove the battery pack. Do not leave the battery in the
charger indefinitely.
Operation
1. To turn ON the Work Light, press the ON/OFF Switch on the back of the tool. To
turn OFF the tool, press the ON/OFF Switch again.The Work Light will normally
work for 5-6 hours when starting with a fully charged battery.
2. The Work Light has a Hook built into the back for hanging the light in a convenient
location.To use the Hook, grasp it and rotate upward.To store the Hook, rotate it
back into place.
Maintenance
1. When not in use, store it in a dry, secure location. Charge the Work Light before
storage.
2. Whenever the RED Indicator Light comes on, recharge the Work Light.The light
will operate for approximately 5 minutes after the Red light comes on.
3. This item is water resistant, but is not designed to be submerged in water.
Battery Replacement
CAUTION: Only a qualified service technician may replace the batteries.
To access the batteries, remove the two screws on the underside of the light.
The batteries must be replaced only with batteries of the same type and size.
