2.2 Definitions
2.2.1. Intended Use
This chair is designed exclusively for the bedding of patients for the purpose of administering medical
treatments, anesthesia, and for routine check-ups as specified in this manual.
We will not be held responsible for damages resulting from the unintended use of this product.
2.2.2. Unintended Use
Unintended use of this product includes but is not limited to the following:
- The chair is loaded beyond the limits specified in the manual (see chapter 10 “Technical Specifications”)
- Any inappropriate use of the chair’s electrical functions
- Any modifications of the chair without written agreement from the manufacturer
- Using the chair in combination with therapeutic radiology/X-Ray diagnostics or with
intravascular/intracardiac intervention.
- Operation of the chair by persons not trained or familiarized with correct handling procedures.
- Over activation of one or more motors
- Excessive pulling or loosening of any cables, connectors or conductors
- Using the chair on a surface with more than 10° inclination
- Any use of excessive force against the chair or its attachments
- Moving the chair on stairs or uneven surfaces; the chair should only be moved on level ground
- Using the chair with non-compliant or disruptive electrical equipment not provided by UFSK International
OSYS GmbH
3. Important Safety Precautions
Sections marked ““ describe warning notices or safety instructions that must be followed without exception.
The manufacturer disclaims all liability for any cases of negligence or willful failure to comply with these
precautions.
WARNING: When a preset or custom memory position is selected on the hand control, the
chair should be allowed to reach the end position of its automated movement pattern without
interruption. Special safety attention should be observed during all automated surface
adjustments in order to avoid collisions with apparatuses, body parts or any nearby objects.
It is of paramount importance that the patient is safe at all times. In the event of a potential
collision or safety hazard, the chair’s motors can be stopped in motion by pushing any button
on the hand control, or the emergency stop button on the chair’s frame.
WARNING: Refrain from making any constructional modifications to this chair.
WARNING: Before and during the motorized adjustment of this chair’s surface, it is
imperative that no bodily appendages are located between the moving parts. The patient’s
arms should be placed securely on the arm rests to avoid injury.
WARNING: This surgical chair should not be moved over thresholds, steps, or uneven
surfaces.
WARNING: If possible, refrain from lifting or carrying this chair at any time. If it is absolutely
necessary, such as in the event of moving business locations, the chair should be carried
from the welded structures of the frame. Plastic parts or upholstery areas are not suitable
grip points for carrying this chair. Before you move to the new location, remember to
completely disconnect the chair from all electrical outlets.
WARNING: This chair must not be operated when directly connected to an electrical power
outlet.
WARNING: The use of this chair in conjunction with devices that emit ionizing radiation (e.g.,
X-Ray diagnostics, therapeutic radiology) is prohibited.
WARNING: Pulling on electrical lines or conductors is prohibited.
