I. Introduction
You have purchased a very sophisticated subwoofer manufactured by
Ultimate Sound. Founded in 1975, Ultimate Sound makes speakers for
every car audio application, speakers for marine environments, enclosed
speaker systems, amplifiers, accessories and other products. Our tradition of
leadership and innovation in the audio industry continues with innovative
products like Platinum Format loudspeakers with HEATT Technology.
We recommend you have your new Platinum Format loudspeakers
installed by a professional. Professional installation shops have the
equipment to do the job correctly, and the experience to recommend the
best mounting locations in your vehicle.
Please use your new Platinum Format loudspeakers responsibly. Very
loud music can cause permanent hearing loss.
PLATINUM FORMAT FEATURES:
•HEATT Technology means our Platinum Format drivers handle
more power with less distortion. A layer of nickel, bonded to an
injection molded cone, dissipates heat from the voice coil. The nickel
layer also increases the stiffness of the cone for less harmonic distortion
at high power.
•The Butyl Rubber Surround has superior damping characteristics and
will last longer than foam surrounds
•Aluminum Voice Coil Former-Improves thermal power handling by
conducting heat away from the coil, into the HEATTcone.
•A Black Chrome Plated Frame provides a striking appearance in
keeping with the "Platinum" designation.
•Spring Loaded Platinum Terminals-Simple, reliable connection and
a distinctive look.
•A Rubber Magnet Cover protects the magnet from chipping or
breaking.

IV. Installation- Sealed Enclosures
1. Sealed enclosures provide excellent performance with Platinum Format
subwoofers. They are the simplest enclosures to design and build. We
recommend you choose a sealed design if you have not built subwoofer
enclosures before. Remember to glue and screw all joints, using
enough glue to make sure all joints are air tight. Loosely fill the
enclosure with fiberglass, poly-fill, or cotton damping material.

V. Installation- Ported Enclosures
1. Ported enclosures use a tuned vent to get additional output at the tuning
frequency. Smaller ports than recommended may cause noise from air
turbulence. Flared ports will produce less turbulence and noise.
Remember to glue and screw all joints, using enough glue to make sure
all joints are air tight.
2. Make sure there is at least 2” between the end of the port and the
adjacent wall of the enclosure.

•Technologie HEATT: Les haut-parleurs Platinum Format avec

V. Installation- caisson fermé
2. Les caissons fermés donnent un rendement excellent avec les
subwoofers de la série Platinum Format. Ils sont les caissons les plus
faciles à projeter et à construire. Nous vous recommandons de choisir
un caisson fermé si vous n’avez jamais construit un caisson.
3. Assurez-vous de bien coller avec assez de colle et de bien visser toutes
les arêtes afin que le caisson soit bien étanche. Remplissez le caisson
avec des nattes de fibre en verre, de polyfill ou de coton.

VI. Installation- caisson bassreflex
3. Les caissons bassreflex utilisent un tube de tuning pour obtenir un
rendement additionnel à la fréquence de tuning. Des tubes plus petits
que recommandé produisent peut-être du bruit provoqué par les
turbulences de l’air. Des tubes plus grands et arrondis produisent moins
de turbulences et moins de bruit. Assurez-vous de bien coller avec
assez de colle et de bien visser toutes les arêtes afin que le caisson soit
bien étanche.
4. Assurez-vous qu’il y a au minimum 5 cm d’espace entre la fin du tube
bassreflex et la plaque arrière.

MERKMALE PLATINUM FORMAT:
•HEATT Technology bedeutet, dass unsere Platinum Format
Lautsprecher höher belastbar sind mit weniger Verzerrungen. Eine
Schicht aus Nickel an der Spritzguss-Membrane entzieht der
Schwingspule Wärme. Die Schicht aus Nickel erhöht zudem die
Steifigkeit der Membrane und dies verringert die harmonischen
Verzerrungen bei hohen Belastungen.
•Die Butyl Gummi Sicke hat eine hervorragende
Dämpfungscharakteristik und eine längere Lebensdauer als geschäumte
Sicken.
•Aluminum Schwingspulenträger- Verbessert die thermische

VI. Einbau- geschlossenes Gehäuse
4. Die Platinum Format Subwoofer erzielen eine exzellente Wiedergabe
in geschlossenen Gehäusen. Geschlossene Gehäuse sind am einfachsten
zu planen und herzustellen. Wir empfehlen Ihnen, ein geschlossenes
Gehäuse zu bauen, falls Sie bis jetzt noch nie ein Gehäuse hergestellt
haben. Vergewissern Sie sich, dass Sie alle Kanten und Ecken
verleimen und verschrauben, indem Sie genügend Leim verwenden,
damit alle Ecken und Kanten absolut luftdicht sind. Füllen Sie das
Gehäuse mit Matten aus Glasfaser, Polyfill oder Dämmmaterial aus
Baumwolle.

VII. Einbau- Bassreflex-Gehäuse
5. Bassreflex-Gehäuse haben eine abgestimmte Oeffnung um zusätzlichen
Schalldruck bei der Abstimmfrequenz zu erzielen. Kleinere
Rohrdurchmesser als die empfohlenen können zu Windgeräuschen
führen. Grössere Rohrdurchmesser produzieren weniger
Windgeräusche. Vergewissern Sie sich, dass Sie alle Kanten und Ecken
verleimen und verschrauben, indem Sie genügend Leim verwenden,
damit alle Ecken und Kanten absolut luftdicht sind.
6. Vergewissern Sie sich, dass mindestens 5 cm Abstand zwischen dem
Ende des Bassreflexrohres und der gegenüberliegenden Gehäusewand
sind.

nueva línea Platinum Format es fruto de nuestro contínuo avance en la
investigación y desarrollo de nuevos materiales.
Le recomendamos que sus nuevos altavoces Platinum Format sean
instalados por un profesional. Los instaladores profesionales disponen de
las herramientas y conocimientos necesarios para instalar los altavoces de
manera óptima en su vehículo.
Utilice los altavoces Platinum Format con precaución. La música a muy
alto nivel de volumen puede provocar lesiones en el aparato auditivo
CARACTERISTICAS Platinum Format:
•La Tecnología HEATT de nuestros altavoces de la serie Platinum
Format permite una mayor admisión de potencia con menor distorsión.
Una capa de Níquel mezclada en un cono moldeado por inyección

VII. Instalación- Recintos Cerrados
5. Los subwoofers platinum format se comportan de forma excepcional en
recintos cerrados. Este tipo de recinto es el más sencillo de diseñar y
construir. Si nunca ha construido un recinto de graves esta es la opción
que le recomendamos. Recuerde clavar y pegar todas las juntas de
manera que no se puedan producir fugas de aire. Añada un poco de lana
de vidrio o de otro material absorbente en el interior del recinto.

VIII. Instalación- Recintos Reflex
7. Los recintos Reflex utilizan una abertura sintonizada para proporcionar
una salida mayor a la frecuencia de sintonía. Si utiliza salidas de aire
menores de las recomendadas pueden causarse ruidos o turbulencias de
aire. Los tubos con salida en forma de bocina exponencial producen
menor ruido y turbulencia. Recuerde clavar y encolar todas las juntas
para evitar fugas de aire o vibraciones indeseadas.
8. Asegúrese de que quede un espacio de al menos 5 cm entre la boca
interior del tubo y la superficie más cercana a ésta.
