SECTION 1
GENERAL AND SPECIFICATIONS
1-1 INTRODUCTION
The AC Power Source ACP series use state of the art PAM (Power Amplitude Modulation)
technology to provide a pure and stable alternating current (A.C.) power to the loader at very
low cost never achieved before. The model offers maximum rated power with Variable Voltage
Variable Frequency for any output voltage 0 to 300VAC with single phase, at any frequency
from 40 to 999Hz. It is not only suitable for commercial applications (47-63Hz), but also for
avionics, marine and military applications at 400Hz.
The output voltage is a complete semiconductor variable type (booster amplification control
type). The output frequency of 50Hz, 60Hz and 400Hz, which is used very frequently, is set with
Frequency Selector Switch. Any frequency from 40 to 999Hz is to be selected using Push
Wheel Digital Switch.
The cooling system for this model is a compulsory air-cooling type using cooling fin. The
output voltage is down or the over load LED is lit when the cooling fin is over heated or the
output is overloaded.
☞OPTION : The variable frequency range from 1,000Hz to 3,000Hz is provided as a option.
The desired frequency is to be set using the Volume Switch on front panel after
Selector Switch is on SET, Digital Switch is on 999 and X1 & X10 is on X10.

PHYSICAL STRUCTURE & FUNCTION
2-1 PHYSICAL STRUCTURE
This model consists of following main parts.
●Input Transformer
●Rectifier
●Inverter
●Output Transformer
●Circuit Controller
●Digital Display Panel
2-2 EACH DEVICE’S FUNCTION
●Input Transformer
This input transformer is the high efficiency H dry type. This device was designed as the
output voltage corresponds to the input voltage of Inverter section and the output current
is provided enough to the rated current of Inverter section.
●Rectifier
The device is rectification section using full wave rectifier circuit, which consists of
thyristor module, cooling fin, condenser and various assembly components. This device
converts alternating electric current (AC) into direct current (DC) and provides it to the
Inverter section. The direct current (DC) converted by rectifier circuit may include some
ripple voltage. The ripple voltage is filtered with filtering circuit consisting of condensers
and good quality of direct current (DC) can be made.
●Inverter
This device consists of power transistor, cooling fin and various assembly components. It
provides rectified direct current (DC) to power transistor, and it generates sine wave after
converting the signals stored with ROM using D/A converter then inverts it into PAM type
so that it can provide power source to the load after inverting voltage and frequency into
stable alternating current (AC) source. The high-speed protection fuse is provided with
alternating current (AC) input side in order to protect this device. It was designed not to

exceed rated capacity when overloaded.
●Output Transformer
This transformer is a isolation transformer whose 1st phase winding is connected with
Inverter and 2nd phase winding is connected with output side so that good quality power
source (complete sine wave) can be provided. It is designed that the frequency
characteristics of transformer has no problem when the frequency is inverted among 40 ~
999Hz, and that waveform deviation rate is less that 1%.
●Circuit Controller
This controller consists of auxiliary power device which drives microprocessor, Inverter
controller and alarm indication device. The power supply is provided directly from input
side and linear type control power is used which avoids operation error and makes
control circuit be controlled in safety free from overload voltage and noise input outside
the device.
●Digital Display Panel
This device consists of display and operation switch and digital display control functions
are built in for easy status monitoring system.

and Power (W) and read V, A, Hz and W.

2-3 OPERATION CONCEPT
●Voltage Variation
The output voltage was designed to be linear adjusted variably using volume with power TR
PAM control type among 0 ~ 300V according to the status of voltage range.
●Frequency Invert
The output frequency was designed for input 60Hz to be inverted using PAM control type
and 40 ~ 999Hz frequency is output.
SECTION 3
OPERATION
3-1 PREPARATIONS BEFORE USE
●The hear generated by AC Power Source is released thru rear panel so please place the
machine minimum 10cm away from other equipment or wall so that the air flow goes on
smoothly.
●Do not place any articles in the base and side of the machine so that the air flow goes on
smoothly without closing air ventilation holes.
●Do not place the machine to be exposed direct to the sun or eroded gas.
●Do not place the machine in the room with vibration or lots of dust.
●Do not operate the machine if there is some damage with fuse holder, panel meter,
switches and other mechanical parts.
3-2 ELECTRICAL CHECK
1. Turn both Electric Source Switch and Power Switch OFF.
2. Place all Voltage Adjust VR at the minimum range.
3. Adjust Frequency Preset Volume to the range to be desired.
4. Check whether the input power voltage to be used is the same as single phase AC
220V/60Hz.
5. Connect AC input terminal of the machine with power source.
6. Turn the Power Switch ON and check if the frequency counter is displayed.

7. Check whether the display of frequency counter is the same frequency set voluntarily.
8. Check if Output LED Lamp is lit.
9. Turn the Output Switch ON.
10. Check if Output LED Lamp is lit.
11. Check output voltage indicates up to 300V after turning the Main VR in clockwise.
3-3 CAUTION FOR USERS
●Read this Technical and Operation Manual thoroughly and operate the machine
according to the procedures in the manual.
●The input power should be single phase AC 220V/60Hz.
●The GROUND of the power line should be connected with the machine.
●Do not carry a load or touch the output when Output LED is lit, which may put the user in
the dangerous situation.
●Input Source should provide 3 times of more power than the rated capacity.
●Dust or humidity may cause malfunction of this machine.
3-4 FRONT PANEL LAYOUT

3-5 OPERATION
1. Turn both Electric Source Switch and Power Switch OFF.
2. Turn the Voltage Adjust VR to the minimum range in counter clockwise.
3. Adjust Voltage Range Switch to the range to be desired.

4. The constant voltage and constant current is changed with Toggle Switch. The voltage is
variable with constant voltage generator shown as above table. The output voltage of
constant current generator is variable by current quantity provided at MAX 360V range.
( This is an optional item)
●Operation for LOW/HI SWITCH
-The output voltage from 0~150V is variable using LOW Switch.
-The output voltage from 0~300V is variable using HI Switch. But the position of
LOW / HI Switch should be at LOW up to 150V, then the position should be at HI
up to 300 over 150V.
-The dual transformer is being used with this system since the frequency bandwidth
is wide. It should be at DOWN from 40 to 200Hz and should be at UP from 200 to
2000Hz. The position of transformer frequency selection is wrong more current is
required which may cause damage to the system.
-The frequency selection from 40 to 999Hz is provided with systems as a standard,
but the variable frequency range from 1,000Hz to 3,000Hz is provided as a option.
The desired frequency is to be set using the Volume Switch on front panel after
Selector Switch is on SET, Digital Switch is on 999 and X1 & X10 is on X10
- The desired frequency is to be set using Frequency Preset or Variable Switch.

-Turn the power source switch ON and check if the desired frequency is displayed
on Output Frequency LED panel.
-If Output Frequency LED displays the desired frequency then turn the Output
Switch ON. And then check if Output LED is lit.
-If Output LED is lit please turn the Voltage Adjust (MINE) VR in clockwise by
looking at Output Voltage Meter and then set the output volt.
-If more accurate output voltage is required please turn Voltage Adjust (FINE) VR in
clockwise.
