OVERVIEW
A/D-converters provided by Unisense:
• ADC-216USB
• ADC-416USB
• ADC-816USB
As opposed to other amplifiers from Unisense, the picoammeter,
PA2000, and the Unisense thermocouple meter, T301, do not
have a built-in A/D-converter unit. These amplifiers produce an
analogue voltage output, which is proportional to the microsensor
signal. To make useful measurements, it is often necessary to con-
nect the analogue output to a data acquisition device. This can be
a paper strip chart recorder, but a more convenient way is to col-
lect data with a computer. To show and store data on a computer,
an A/D converter and computer software is necessary.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
1. Connect the signal output of the amplier
to the BNC inputs of the A/D converter
(ADC) using the signal cables.
2. Connect the USB port of the ADC to a USB
port on the PC using the USB cable.
3. Turn on the PC and install your data acquisi-
tion software (e.g. SensorTrace)
CAUTION
Do not apply
voltages in excess
of +/- 15V as the
A/D-converter may
be damaged by
this.
NOTE
If one of the chan-
nels is not used, it
can be provided
with an electrical
shortcut, as the
otherwise drifting
signal may confuse
