
PREPARATION
Before the pump can be used the pump body must be primed before use and will depend on the type of
installation.
1. Setup with base level of tank at same level (Fig 1.)
• Open the gate valve and the garden tap.
• Run the pump until there is no air visible in the clear cover of the inlet strainer.
• Close the garden tap and turn the pump OFF
2. Setup with base level of tank below the pump. (Fig 2.)
• Check that the pump is turned OFF at the mains outlet. (Power point)
• With the gate valve open, unscrew the clear cover of the strainer, ll with water until the suction line and
pump body are lled with water.
• Replace the cover.
WARNING! Always use an electrical outlet that is protected by Residual Current
Device RCD (Safety switch) with a trip current of 30mA or less.
OPERATION
NOTE: A FOOT VALVE MUST BE FITTED OR THE WATER WILL DRAIN
BACK INTO THE TANK. is may lead to having to prime the pump continually.
NOTE: FOR THE UPGPP600A. is model is tted with a automatic controller
that will try to prime the pump two times only. If the controller detects that the pump is
still not primed aer the two attempts it will turn o and the failure lamp will FLASH.
To RESET the controller re-prime the pump and press the reset button to try again.
• Check that the ON / OFF switch (service switch) is in the ON position.
• Turn the power ON at the mains outlet (Power point)
• e pump should start.
• Slowly open the outlet taps and allow the lines to clear and purge any air in the pipes.
• is priming procedure may need to be repeated several times.
• Aer successfully priming the pump turn the garden tap OFF and check for leaks and rectify.
UP-GPP600 (Manual ON / OFF model)
• With the pump primed, Turn the pump ON at the power switch and power point.
• Turn the garden tap on and use the water as required.
• When nished turn the garden tap OFF
• Turn the power to the pump OFF
CAUTION! e pump must be protected from the elements. ese pumps are not
designed to be exposed to the elements. ey must be protected by a cover or similar with ventilation.
Under the eave of a house is NOT considered being protected. Failure to protect the pump from the
elements will void the warranty.
