Thank you for choosing to buy one of our products. Your appliance is made to high
standards and is easy to use. Nevertheless, please take the time to read these operating
instructions in order to familiarize yourself with the appliance and get the best use out of
it.
Please follow the safety precautions.
Modifications
Text, diagrams and data correspond to the technical standard of the appliance at the
time these operating instructions went to press. The right to make technical modifications
for the purpose of the further development of the appliances is reserved.

1.2 General safety precautions
▪Read the operating instruc-
tions before using the appli-
ance for the first time.
▪This appliance can be used
by children aged 8 and above
and by persons with reduced
physical, sensory or mental
capabilities, or lack of experi-
ence and/or knowledge,
provided they are supervised
or have been instructed on
the safe use of the appliance
and have understood the haz-
ards involved. Children shall
not play with the appliance.
Cleaning and user mainten-
ance shall not be undertaken
by children without supervi-
sion.
▪If an appliance is not
equipped with a mains cable
and a plug or other means for
disconnecting from the mains
with a contact opening on
each pole complying with the
conditions of overvoltage cat-
egory III for full isolation, an
isolating device must be in-
corporated into the perman-
ently installed electrical install-
ation in accordance with the
installation regulations.

1.4 Instructions for use
Before using for the first time
▪The appliance must be installed and
connected to the electricity supply in
accordance with the separate installa-
tion instructions. Have a qualified fitter/
electrician carry out the necessary
work.
▪Dispose of the packaging material in
accordance with local regulations.
▪Make the desired user settings.
Correct use
▪The appliance is designed for collecting
the costs of operating a washing ma-
chine or tumble dryer. No liability is as-
sumed for any damage caused by im-
proper or incorrect use.
▪Retain these operating instructions for
future reference. If you sell the appli-
ance or pass it on to a third party,
please ensure these operating instruc-
tions accompany the appliance, to-
gether with the installation instructions.
In this way, the new owners can inform
themselves about how to use the appli-
ance correctly and read the pertinent
safety precautions.
Services and support
▪If the appliance is not working properly
or in case a repair is needed, follow the
instructions given in the «Service & Sup-
port» section. Please contact our Cus-
tomer Services if necessary.
▪Any repairs, modifications or manipula-
tions to the appliance, especially any
electrically live parts, may only be car-
ried out by the manufacturer, its Cus-
tomer Services or a similarly qualified
person. Repairs if carried out incorrectly
may cause serious injury, damage to
the appliance and fittings, as well as af-
fect the functioning of the appliance.
▪Any work carried out by an unauthor-
ized service provider as well as the use
of spare parts other than the original
spare parts void the obligations under
the warranty.
Children in the household
▪Packaging material, e.g. plastic film and
polystyrene, can be dangerous for chil-
dren and animals. Danger of suffoca-
tion! Keep packaging material away
from children and animals.
▪The appliance is designed for use by
adults who are familiar with the content
of these operating instructions. Children
may not always be aware of the danger
involved in using electrical appliances.
Ensure proper supervision and do not
allow children to play with the appliance
– there is a danger that children could
hurt themselves.
Note on use
▪If the appliance is visibly damaged, do
not use it. Contact our Customer Ser-
vices.
▪Do not spray the appliance with water.
Do not use a steam cleaner.
▪If the mains cable of the appliance is
damaged, it must be replaced by Cus-
tomer Services to avoid any danger.

2 Your appliance
2.1 Appliance description
The cashier system controls the power supply to the connected appliance based on the
amount entered. The length of time that electricity is consumed is then measured and
charged. Enough coins (CHF / EUR) or tokens have to be inserted for a complete wash
or drying programme.
The appliance does not always debit the same amount of money for the same
wash or drying programmes, as the length of time that electricity is used, depends
on various factors (load, amount and temperature of water, voltage, etc.).
Recommendations for use
The appliance does not give change. If operated with coins, it is recommended that a ba-
sic amount e.g. (CHF / EUR) be inserted. This ensures that the longest possible
programme runs correctly. At the end of the wash day, the user makes the amount up to
again.

Display messages
When using for the first time, a short system test is carried out automatically.
–The current software version, e.g. / , is shown in the display.
–If the credit is zero, is shown in the display.
–If the decimal point is flashing in the display, power is being consumed by the ap-
pliance and being deducted from the credit.
–If the credit falls below the warning threshold, then this alternates with
in the display. The appliance switches off automatically when the credit
has run out.
–When the coin box is full, is shown in the display.
3 Operation
3.1 Inserting coins
Enough coins have to be inserted for a complete drying programme.
Model 245
▸ The coins are inserted in the coin/token slot.
–The current credit is shown in the display.
Model 246
▸ Select required appliance.
–The display with the current credit flashes for 5 seconds.

▸ Insert the coins while the display is flashing.
–The current credit is shown in the display.
3.2 Emptying the coin box
Coins accepted by the coin validator drop into the coin box. It can hold approximately
400 coins. If a coin is not validated, it automatically drops into the return slot.
▸ Use the key to remove the coin box
cover 1.
▸ Remove the coin box 2, empty it and
then put it back.
▸ As a check, read off the totaliser.
▸ Put the coin box cover 1 back and lock.

3.3 Deleting credit
Example: You have a credit of and would like to delete it.
▸ Press the «+» and «–» settings buttons at the same time for about 6 seconds.
–The deleting process is shown in the display: / / /

–The credit is deleted.
3.4 Totaliser
All the coins that have been inserted can be shown in the display.
▸ Press the «–» settings button for about 3 seconds.
–The total is shown in the display.

If the total is greater than , the «+» settings button can be used to show the
«100s» and the «–» settings button can be used to show the «1s».
Model 246
The «100s» are shown in the display for appliance 1 and the «1s» are shown in the dis-
play for appliance 2. Example: the total amount given by the totaliser is 237.30.

▸ To exit, press the «SET» button for about 3 seconds.
The display also changes if:
▪a settings button is not pressed for one minute,
▪a coin is inserted,
▪or an appliance is selected (model 246).

4.1 Preface to the calculation
The costs which are calculated for the appliance are based on the operating costs of the
washing machine or tumble dryer connected. The operating costs comprise the costs of
the electricity and water consumed as well as of the maintenance costs.
Operating costs
The following calculations are based on the example of an 8kg washing machine and
the Eco programme eco40-60.
The values indicated below are average values. These can vary (depending on
local electricity tariffs and water rates as well as maintenance costs) greatly.

5 Settings
5.1 Instructions for settings
Different settings (parameters) can be set for the appliance. This is described below for
both models.
▸ Press the «SET» settings button for about 3 seconds.
–In the display (model 245) appears
–In the displays (model 246) appears
▸ Touch the «+» or «–» settings buttons to toggle between the parameters.
▸ Touch the «SET» settings button to select a parameter.
▸ Use the «+» or «–» settings buttons to change the value.
▸ Touch the «SET» settings button to save the value.
–The setting is saved.
▸ To exit, press the «SET» settings button for about 3 seconds.
It is possible to exit the settings without saving if:
▪a settings button is not pressed for one minute,
▪a coin is inserted,
▪or an appliance is selected (model 246).
Example: With the setting for token operation, the parameters to (CHF
and EUR) are not visible.

Initializing the system Hold down the «+» and «–» settings buttons
for about 6 seconds. The values of all para-
meters are restored to the factory settings.
Any settings that have been made will be
lost.

token will not be accepted.

7 Disposal
7.1 Packaging
Never allow children to play with packaging material due to the danger of injury or
suffocation. Store the packaging material in a safe location or dispose of it in an
environmentally-friendly way.
7.2 Safety
Render the appliance unusable to prevent accidents caused by improper use (e.g.
through children playing):
▸ Disconnect the appliance from the mains. With a fixed appliance, this is to be carried
out by a qualified electrician. Then cut the mains cable off flush with the appliance.
7.3 Disposal
▪ The «crossed‐out wheeled bin» symbol requires the separate collection of waste
electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE). Such equipment can contain hazardous,
environmentally harmful materials.
▪These appliances are to be handed over to a designated collection point for the recyc-
ling of electrical and electronic equipment and must not be disposed of with unsorted
household waste. And in this way, you will be helping to protect resources and the en-
vironment.
