standards and is easy to use. Nevertheless, please take the time to read these operating
instructions in order to familiarise yourself with the appliance and get the best use out of
it.
Please follow the safety precautions.
Modifications
Text, diagrams and data correspond to the technical standard of the appliance at the
time these operating instructions went to press. The right to make technical modifications
for the purpose of the further development of the appliance is reserved.
Validity
The product family (model number) corresponds to the first alphanumerics on the identi-

▪Read the operating instruc-

▪This appliance can be used
by children aged 8 and above
and by persons with reduced
physical, sensory or mental
capabilities, or lack of experi-
ence and/or knowledge,
provided they are supervised
or have been instructed on
the safe use of the appliance
and have understood the haz-
ards involved. Children shall
not play with the appliance.
Cleaning and user mainten-
ance shall not be undertaken
by children without supervi-
sion.
▪If an appliance is not
equipped with a mains cable
and a plug or other means for
disconnecting from the mains
with a contact opening on
each pole complying with the
conditions of overvoltage cat-
egory III for full isolation, an
isolating device must be in-

for drying textiles which have
been washed in water.
▪The appliance is only to be
used with the recommended
vaporizing medium. The use
of other substances may give
rise to a toxic or fire risk.
▪The appliance has hot sur-
faces to evaporate active
components. These surfaces
should not be touched during
use.
▪The tumble dryer may not be
used if industrial chemicals
were used for cleaning.
▪Clean the fluff filters regularly.
▪Do not allow fluff to build up
around the tumble dryer.
▪Do not dry unwashed items in
the tumble dryer.
▪Textiles that have been
cleaned, treated or soaked
with flammable chemicals,
detergents or solvents (such
as white spirit, alcohol, stain
remover, oil, turpentine, acet-
one, paint, wax, etc.) are a
fire and explosion hazard!
Wash materials containing
such substances first by hand
with water or allow the solvent
to evaporate completely.
▪Items such as foam rubber
(latex foam), shower caps,
waterproof textiles, rubber
backed articles and clothes
or pillows fitted with foam rub-
ber pads should not be dried
in the tumble dryer.
▪Fabric softeners, or similar
products, should be used as
specified by the fabric
softener instructions.
▪Remove objects such as
lighters and matches and the
like.
▪Never stop a tumble dryer be-
fore the end of the drying
cycle unless all items are
quickly removed and spread
out so that the heat is dissip-
ated.
▪If the appliance is installed on
a carpeted floor ensure that
any ventilation openings on
the base of the appliance are
not obstructed.
▪If the appliance is installed in
a housing, the ventilation
openings are to be kept free
of obstruction.
▪Exhaust air must not be dis-
charged into a flue which is
used for exhausting fumes
from appliances burning gas
or other fuels.
▪Do not install the appliance
behind a door that locks, a
sliding door or a door with a
hinge that lies opposite the
hinge of the appliance.

1.4 Instructions for use
Before using for the first time
▪The appliance must be installed and
connected to the electricity supply in
accordance with the separate installa-
tion instructions. Have a qualified fitter/
electrician carry out the necessary
work.
▪Ensure access to the place of discon-
nection (e.g. socket outlet, wall switch,
fuse) and the water tap.
Correct use
▪The appliance is only suitable for drying
home textiles. It is designed for use in
the home and for the above-mentioned
purpose only. No liability is assumed for
any damage caused by improper or in-
correct use.
▪Any repairs, modifications or manipula-
tions to the appliance, especially any
electrically live parts, may only be car-
ried out by the manufacturer, its Cus-
tomer Services or a similarly qualified
person. Repairs if carried out incorrectly
could cause serious injury or damage
to the appliance and fittings as well as
affect the functioning of the appliance. If
the appliance is not working properly or
in case of a repair order, follow the in-
structions given in the «Service & Sup-
port» section. If necessary, please con-
tact our Customer Services.
▪Use original spare parts only.
▪Before closing the appliance door and
starting a programme, ensure that there
are no foreign objects or pets in the
drum.
Note on use
▪If the appliance is not operating prop-
erly, disconnect it from the power sup-
ply immediately.
▪To protect your washing, follow the fab-
ric care symbols and the hints and ad-
vice in the 'Drying tips' section.
▪Do not operate the appliance without a
door filter or with a damaged door filter.
Fluff can destroy the appliance!
Caution: Burns hazard!
▪Do not dry fabrics that contain traces of
hair spray, hair gel, nail varnish remover
or other similar substances. Danger of
gas build-up!
Caution: Risk to life!
▪Packaging material, e.g. plastic film and
polystyrene, can be dangerous for chil-
dren. Danger of suffocation! Keep pack-
aging material away from children.
How to avoid damaging the appliance
▪Transport the appliance in an upright
position only! Transporting it in any
other position will result in damage to
the appliance! When carried carefully
without being shaken, the appliance
may be tilted a maximum of 90° to the
left (viewed from the front).

▪Close the appliance door carefully.
▪When cleaning the appliance make
sure no water gets inside it. Use a mod-
erately damp cloth. Do not spray the
outside or the inside of the appliance
with water. If water gets inside the appli-
ance, it will cause damage.

2 Using for the first time
2.1 Note
The appliance can only be operated after standing in the normal operating posi-
tion for about 2 hours.
The appliance must be installed and connected to the electricity supply in accordance
with the separate installation instructions. Have a qualified fitter/electrician carry out the
necessary work.
2.2 Function description
When the appliance is connected to the power supply for the first time, it is possible to
select a function test. The purpose of the function test is to check the installation. It takes
about 3 minutes. The function test can be selected immediately after installation. The
heat pump is not started during the function test. Before the definitive initial start-up of
the appliance, it must stand in the normal operating position for around 2 hours, other-
wise the heat pump could become damaged.
The function test cannot be aborted by interrupting the power supply.
Once the function test has been run or aborted, it can no longer be selected and
the appliance enters the normal selection mode.
2.3 Starting the function test
▸ Connect the appliance to the mains and wait for to appear in the display.
▸ Use the button to start the function test.
The function test can be interrupted in two ways:
▸ Open the appliance door .
– flashes in the display.
The indicator light for the button flashes after closing the appliance door.
Or:
▸ Press the button.
–The indicator light for the button flashes.
Continuing the function test:
▸ Press the button.
–The duration remaining appears in the display, e.g. .
Aborting the function test:
▸ Pressing the button aborts the function test and all displays go out.
End of function test:
All the displays go out when the function test has finished.

2.4 Where is the identification plate?

3 Appliance description
3.1 Appliance overview
The appliance operates with a closed air circuit. Moisture is extracted from the air with
the help of a heat pump and then the air is reheated. Recovering heat in this way sharply
reduces energy consumption.
Thanks to the heat pump, the appliance dries at lower temperatures.
All the programmes are therefore gentler on your laundry. The condensate water collec-
ted is discharged through an outlet at the rear into the drainage system.
As a general rule, rooms containing a heat pump dryer must be ventilated as these pro-
duce some humidity. If the room is kept closed, it should be aired occasionally (either by
opening the door to the room or a window) between several consecutive drying pro-
grammes.

The appliance door can be set to open to the left or to the right. Our Customer
Services can make the necessary adjustments to the appliance.

4 Programme overview
4.1 Programme sequence for the automatic programmes
The drying programme has 3 phases:
Drying
The washing is tumble dried until it reaches the set level of dryness. The drying pro-
gramme is monitored by a moisture sensor. As soon as the required level of dryness is
reached, the «Cooling down/Airing» phase starts.
Cooling down/Final airing
The laundry is cooled down to a temperature at which creasing is minimized. The dura-
tion of this phase depends on the temperature of the laundry. «Crease guard» starts if
the appliance is not unloaded when this phase ends.
Crease guard
The dried washing is moved at frequent intervals to prevent creasing.
If the additional «Ultra care» function has been selected, «Crease guard» runs 90
minutes; with all other programmes it runs 30 minutes. «Crease guard» can be stopped
at any time by opening the appliance door or by pressing the button.
4.2 Automatic programmes
To select the right programme, follow the fabric care symbols on the labels of the
wash items, e.g. .
Extra dry 1–7 kg
For thick, multi-layered fabrics and mixed loads.
Not suitable for knitted or woven articles such as T-shirts and underwear as
they could shrink.
Normal dry 1–7 kg
For similar items of washing (e.g. t-shirts or underwear). The most efficient pro-
gramme for drying normal wet cotton laundry.
Iron dry 1–7 kg
For items that are to be ironed.
Damp 1–7 kg
For items that are to be pressed in a mangle (e.g. table linen).

Woollens 1 kg
For woollen fabrics labelled as washable. Gentle drying through a gentle drum
action and a low temperature (approx. 45°C).
Crease guard 1–3 kg
Creases that come from spinning are reduced (e.g. shirts, blouses). The laun-
dry is ready for ironing.
4.3 Additional programme
Timed drying
For drying off textiles. Also for drying suitable sleeping bags and quilts, and
any individual items of washing.
Optimum wash load: 1–7 kg
4.4 Additional functions
Easy care
Gentle drying for mixed fabrics (e.g. shirts, pullovers and T-shirts). The level of
dryness is reduced.
Optimum wash load: 1–2.5 kg
Delayed start
Take advantage of cheap-rate electricity (setting range of up to 24 hours).
During shut-off periods – determined by the local electricity supplier – the
delayed start time is extended by the length of time the electricity is shut off.
This is not shown in the display.

5 User settings
User settings can only be changed when no programme is running. The procedure is
generally the same for all settings.
5.1 Changing user settings
▸ Hold the button depressed for 5 seconds.
–In the display appears: .
▸ Press the button repeatedly until the required setting appears in the display, e.g.:
for childproof lock OFF.
▸ To change, press the button.
–In the display appears for childproof lock ON.
–The setting is taken over automatically and must not be confirmed.
5.2 Exiting user settings
▸ Press the button repeatedly until the display goes out.
If no button is pressed within the next 15 seconds, user settings is exited and the
display goes out.
5.3 Possible user settings

5.4 Childproof lock
The childproof lock prevents a programme from being started accidentally. When the
childproof lock is activated, a programme can only be started by pressing two buttons
simultaneously.
▸ Hold the button depressed for 5 seconds.
–In the display appears: .
▸ Press the button 1x until the current setting appears in the display, e.g.:
for childproof lock OFF.
▸ To change, press the button.
–In the display appears for childproof lock ON.
–The setting is taken over automatically and must not be confirmed.
▸ Press the button repeatedly until the display goes out.
5.5 Changing the level of dryness
The appliance is designed to provide the most energy-efficient drying. The moisture
sensor continually monitors the level of dryness of the washing. If the washing is not be-
ing dried sufficiently – or being overdried – the level of dryness can be reset.
Changing the level of dryness alters the level of dryness setting of all the pro-
grammes. Care should be taken when increasing the level of dryness as overdry-
ing can weaken fabrics.
▸ Hold the button depressed for 5 seconds.
–In the display appears:

5.6 Automatic door opener
If the automatic door opener is switched on, the appliance door opens automatically at
the end of the programme. Otherwise it remains closed and can be opened by pressing
the button.
Switching the automatic door opener on/off
▸ Hold the button depressed for 5seconds.

▸ Press the button repeatedly until the current setting appears in the digital display,
e.g.: for automatic door opener OFF.
▸ Press the button.
– appears in the digital display for automatic door opener ON.
–The setting is taken over automatically and must not be confirmed.
▸ Press the button repeatedly until the digital display goes out.
5.7 Restoring factory settings
The factory settings can be restored.
▸ Hold the button pressed for 5seconds.

change.
▸ Press the button.
– appears in the digital display for restore factory settings.
–The setting is taken over automatically and must not be confirmed.
▸ Press the button repeatedly until the digital display goes out.

6.1 Preparing the appliance
After the appliance is transported or re-sited, it must be left to stand in the normal
operating position for around 2 hours. Failure to do this can result in damage to
the appliance.
▸ Plug the appliance in at the mains or turn the wall switch on.

6.2 Loading the appliance
▸ Open the appliance door (press at the edge of door in
the area marked by dots) or press the button.
▸ Loosely load wet washing items one by one into the ap-
pliance.
–See 'Programme overview' for maximum load capa-
city.
–Ideally, fill the drum ⅔ full.
–Large blankets, in particular, need plenty of room to
tumble.
▸ Close the appliance door (pushing firmly to).
When closing the appliance door, check that no items of washing are trapped.
If no programme selection is made within 15 seconds, all the displays go out. However,
it is still possible to make a programme selection.
6.3 Selecting a programme
General note on programme selection
Use the 'Programme overview' to determine which programme is the most suitable
for your washing.
Selecting a programme
An automatic programme can be selected with the press of a single button. All the ne-
cessary settings for the programme are provided automatically.
Additional functions can be selected or deselected by pressing the corresponding but-
ton.
If no button is pressed within 15seconds, the programme selected starts
automatically.
Once a programme has started, it is no longer possible to change it. The pro-
gramme must be aborted.

Changing programme selection
During programme selection, a programme that has already been selected can be
changed at any time by selecting a new programme. All previously selected settings are
cleared.
Aborting programme selection
▸ Press the button.
–Programme selection is aborted.
Duration remaining indicator
During programme selection, the expected duration of a programme is shown. This cor-
responds to a load containing similar wash items with a defined weight.
Depending on fabric type, the actual running time may differ from the duration shown.
The duration remaining shown – especially towards the end of the programme – can
freeze for several minutes.
–The letter «h» flashes and in the display appears e.g. .
–The duration remaining is recalculated and shown.
Selecting an automatic programme
▸ Close the appliance door.
–The indicator lights for the programme buttons and the additional programme flash.
▸ Press the required programme button.
–The indicator light for the programme selected illuminates.
–The likely duration (hours/minutes) appears in the display.
–The indicator light for the additional function that may be selected flashes for
15seconds.
A new programme can be selected during this time. All additional functions selec-
ted are cleared and must be reselected.
–If no button is pressed within 15seconds, the programme selected starts automat-
ically.

Selecting timed drying
▸ Close the appliance door.
–The indicator lights for the programme buttons and the additional programme flash.
▸ Press the button.
▸ Press repeatedly to select the desired duration, i.e. 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60 or 90
minutes.
–The duration selected appears in the display.
–The indicator lights for the additional functions that may be selected flash for
15seconds.
The duration selected always includes a 10-minute «Cool down/Airing» phase.
Selecting easy care
▸ Press the button while the indicator light is flashing.
6.4 Selecting a delayed start
▸ Immediately after programme selection, hold the button depressed or press re-
peatedly until the required delayed start duration (max. 24 hours) appears in the dis-
play.
–The display goes dark.
–When the set duration is up, the programme selected starts automatically.
Adding more washing to the load
Items of washing may be added to the load at any time during the countdown to the
delayed start:
▸ Open the appliance door, add the washing to the load and then close the appliance
door again.
▸ Press the flashing programme button.
Shortening/Clearing the delayed start duration
During the countdown to the delayed start, press the button repeatedly to shorten (in
hourly steps) or clear the duration.

6.5 Interrupting a programme
A running programme can be interrupted at any time to add or remove an item of wash-
ing before time.
After the appliance door is closed, the heat pump waits 10 minutes before starting
again and the programme duration is correspondingly lengthened.
▸ Open the appliance door.
–The indicator light for the programme selected illuminates.
–The programme name and time remaining or delayed start period flash in the dis-
play.
▸ Close the appliance door (pushing firmly to).
–The indicator light for the programme selected flashes.
▸ Press the flashing programme button.
–The programme continues.
6.6 Aborting a programme before time
▸ Press the button.
–The programme is aborted and all settings are cleared.
6.7 Programme selection with childproof lock activated
▸ Close the appliance door.
– appears in the display.
–The indicator lights for the programme buttons flash.
▸ Hold the desired programme button, e.g. , depressed and at the same time press
the button.
–The indicator lights for the additional functions flash.
After pressing the programme button several times, the error message ap-
pears in the display.
The appliance can now be operated without regard to the childproof lock until the
programme starts.
Interrupting a programme through opening the appliance door
▸ To open the appliance door, hold the button depressed and at the same time
press the button.
–The programme running is interrupted.
▸ Close the appliance door.
▸ Hold the active programme button – the indicator light flashes – depressed and at the
same time press the button.
–The programme is resumed.

Aborting a programme through button selection
With the appliance door closed, carry out the following step:
▸ Hold the active programme button – the indicator light illuminates – depressed and at
the same time press the button.
–The programme is aborted.
6.8 End of programme
–In the display appears:
–The indicator light for the programme that has finished illuminates.
«Crease guard» starts if the appliance is not unloaded straightaway. When it has fin-
ished, all displays go out.
Unloading the washing
▸ Open the appliance door or press the but-
ton.
–All displays go out.
▸ Unload the washing.
▸ Clean the door filter.
▸ Close the appliance door.
At the end of the wash day
▸ Clean the door filter.
▸ Check the base filter and clean if necessary.
▸ Close the appliance door.
