Veimart VM-10 User manual

THE INDICATOR LIGHTS UP: The
solenoid valve is closed and the
plumbing leak test is carried out.
The indicator does not light up if the
solenoid valve is open.
MAXIMUM TIME = longest allowed time
for continuous flow. Resets every time the
tap closes for a minimum of three seconds
(3s). If the set time is exceeded the water
is cut off and the alarm needs to be reset-
ted. The maximum time setting prevents
serious water damage in cases when a
seal breaks, the tap has been left open or
the toilet bowl leaks. The water ows only
for the time set with the maximum time
setting.
RESET BUTTON’S functions:
1. Resetting the water guard.
2. Resetting an exceeded maximum
time (the light blinks together with
the maximum time light).
3. Resetting the alarm caused by the
leakage sensor attached to the
extension unit. (Slowly blinking
light – – –).
4. Resetting the alarm caused by lost
connection to the solenoid valve
(fast blinking light ---).
TIME EXTENSION extends the maximum
time of continuous water ow. This
function is useful e.g. when watering
your lawn, lling the pool or washing
your car. The Veimart unit shuts off the
water supply when the maximum time
+ extended time is over and the water
is still running (requires a reset). The
setting automatically resets.
IN AWAY MODE the flow of water has
been completely stopped. The red indi-
cator is lit. Reset the Veimart unit back
to basic (home) mode by pressing the
Away button again. The indicator light
goes off. The water guard is also on in
the Away mode: If there is a leak in the
plumbing (even though the water mains
has been shut off) there will be no water
before you press the reset button.
THE BLUE LIGHT is always on when
the ow sensor detects that water is
owing in the piping. This means that
the solenoid valve is open. If the ow
is very low, the blue indicator will not
light up and the leakage sensor will
cut off the water supply.
TIP!
The maximum time
also leads to more
economical water
consumption. Using
too much hot water in
particular can be
expensive.

WITH THE TEST BUTTON you
can override the 10 minute
forced control delay and shut the
solenoid valve for a dripping test:
1. Close all taps.
2. Press the test button. This
causes the solenoid valve to
close (an indicator illuminates
above the test button).
3. Open the tap just a little and
see whether the Veimart unit
stops the water owing after
a while.
4. Stop the test by pushing the
reset button.
NOTE! The solenoid valve stays
open for 10 more minutes after
the Veimart unit no longer
detects water owing (when the
blue indicator light goes off).
This means that the device does
not require a reset if the tap is
dripping for a few minutes by
accident.
VEIMART INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
THANK YOU FOR CHOOSING THE VEIMART WATER GUARD!
It is extremely easy to use the Veimart water guard. After the simple initial setup, the device is always on. If the tap water plumbing of
your house works as it should (no leakage, normal pressure, over 3.5 bar), the Veimart system runs automatically so that you don’t have
to pay any attention to it. The device monitors the condition of the plumbing and cuts off the water supply if it detects a leak or if the
water is left running for too long.
WHAT TO DO IF THE WATER IS NOT FLOWING (the water guard has been triggered): Find out if a tap is dripping enough for
the Veimart unit to have interpreted it as a leak so that it has stopped the water. Press the reset button and water will ow
normally. If you can’t nd out why the water guard was triggered, see if it happens again after the alarm was resetted. Typically
leaks occur on seals, taps and toilet bowls. The Veimart unit also recognizes dripping leaks if the water is not used for a few hours.
The smaller the leak, the longer it takes to detect it. For example one drop every minute is enough to trigger the water guard over-
night. If it is not possible to nd the leak with the naked eye, a professional may be able to nd the leak with pressure test equipment.

VEIMART INSTALLATION GUIDE
The insulation casing is opened and closed with metallic clips. The
insulation casing prevents condensation caused by the cold water. If
there is no room, the insulation casing can be left off.
Turn the bypass valve as shown in the picture so the water runs through
the water guard. In case of an electrical failure it is possible to get water
if the bypass valve is turned in the same direction as the water pipe. It
might also be necessary to bypass the water guard if it requires constant
resets and professional help is not available immediately.
WHAT TO DO IMMEDIATELY AFTER INSTALLATION: Since there might be air in the plumbing that can disturb the operation of
the water guard, make sure to run water from all taps long enough for all air to be expelled. Don’t forget any water taps you
might have outside.

VMSW-S
(surface installation)
VM-10 BASIC PACKAGE ACCESSORIES Leakage sensors can be placed in critical
positions, such as below washing machines and
manifolds, to detect leaks (this way the system
can also detect any leaks in sewer connections).
Any alarm caused by the leakage sensor must
be resetted before the Veimart unit reopens the
valve.
VMSW-S is a surface installed, two-part switch
that has one button for resetting alarms (spring
return) and another one for the Away function.
Can be installed e.g. close to a door in the hall.
WARRANTY: The warranty only covers
repairing the device or delivering a new
device to replace a faulty one. The warranty
does not cover any direct or indirect
damage the device may cause to the
customer or the user, nor is the supplier of
the device responsible for such damage.

Attaching the control unit to a wall. The mounting screw holes are hid-
den behind the covers. If necessary, the control unit can be moved fur-
ther away from the water guard using an extension cable.
The Veimart system is installed immediately after the water meter and
the check valve. A possible pressure relief valve is usually installed af-
ter the Veimart device. If there is not a lot of space for installation, it is
recommended to a use a water meter coupling with a one-way valve,
VM-3/4UKx1SK (accessory).
