1.1. Responsibility
This manual is intended for installation and operation of the Ventoxx Harmony
ventilation unit. The instruction is made with use of the data actual as of
01.07.2021. The content of the instructions may be updated and supplemented.

Installation of the recuperator in the wall and its connection to the mains should
be performed only by qualified specialists who are familiar with safety and
qualified to work with mains connections. Be sure to read all of these instructions
before installing and connecting the device.

2. VENTILATION DEVICE
2.1. Purpose of the device
Ventoxx Harmony ventilation device is a decentralized ventilation system with
heat recovery (hereinafter - recuperator). Recuperators are installed in order to
ensure autonomous air exchange in the premises and at the same time retain
heat due to the effect of recovery.
The recuperator can be installed in any living space and in any public buildings
where people will be and where no special temperature and climatic conditions
are required.
The device is equipped with a ceramic heat accumulator, which accumulates the
heat of the used removed air, and then returns the same heat to the fresh air
coming from the street.
The recuperator is installed in the wall thickness. The air duct inside which the
device is located can be 0.5 or 0.75 m long as standard and cut according to the
wall thickness before installation.
2.2. Complete set
Ventoxx Harmony consists of the following components:

recuperator in the modification you ordered is available (see figure above).
In addition, each box must have:

Be careful when unpacking and installing the recuperator - do not hit
or drop the device, which can damage the ceramic heat accumulator.

3. PREPARATION FOR INSTALLATION
3.1. Location of devices

3.2. General provisions for choosing the location of the recuperator
• Height for mounting: for optimal distribution of air flows, recuperators should
be placed in the upper segment of the wall at a distance of at least 150 mm from
the ceiling.
• Distance between devices: recuperators must be placed at a distance of at least
2 m from each other.
• Distance from the door: the recuperator should be placed as far away from the
door as possible to achieve the maximum effect of ventilation.
• Free access to the appliance: to make it easier to maintain the recuperator,
make sure that the place chosen for installation allows the inner cover to be
removed without hindrance.
• Installation over beds: We do not recommend installing the appliance directly
above the bed, as residents may experience a slight movement of airflow.
3.3. Tools required for installation When
mounting the device you will need:
• construction level;
• universal knife;
• in the case of drilling holes - a perforator, a crown with a diamond coating;
• mounting foam;
• screwdriver "-" flat 3 mm;

• wire stripping tool (for cable installation).
For installation you will also need the following fasteners: anchors, dowels,
screws - which are selected according to your facade system, type of insulation,
design and wall material. Please note that the delivery set does not contain these
fasteners.
3.4. Safety at work
When installing the recuperator it is necessary to use protective equipment:
• goggles;
• work gloves;
• protection for the hearing organs;
• head protection;
• special work shoes.
4. INSTALLATION OF THE VENTOXX HARMONY DEVICE
4.1. Creating a hole in the wall
To install the device, you must first make a round hole in the wall of the required
diameter. In ready-made rooms, we recommend that you always make holes using
diamond drilling technology. Make sure that the tool bit is designed for drilling
holes with a diameter of 160-180 mm. The hole in the wall is made at an angle of
0.6 - 2% towards the street.
Before making a hole in the wall, make sure that:
• no one is in danger of being injured when drilling or falling parts of
the wall out of the hole;
• objects and structures will not be damaged due to falling pieces of
the wall during drilling;
• there are no wires or pipes at the drilling site;
• creating a hole will not affect the supporting function of the wall;
• the creation of the hole will not affect the physics of the building, in particular will
not provoke the accumulation of condensate or other moisture in the wall structure.
4.2. Step-by-step installation
Step 1:
After choosing a place for installation and making a mounting hole in the wall,
run a 220 V power cord to it.
Step 2:
Measure the thickness of the wall, if you bought a complete set of exterior

measured thickness of a wall. Measure the obtained length on the air duct and
mark it with a pencil, carefully cut off the excess and remove the irregularities.
As standard, the air duct is 500 mm long and can be built into a wall
with a maximum thickness of 485 mm. If the thickness of the walls in
your room is greater, the installation of the device is possible if you
order / exchange the required length of air duct (0.5 m, 0.75 m, 1 m,
1.5 m).
Step 3:
After the air duct has been shortened to the required length, stick a rubber
stopper supplied with the appliance at a distance of 20 mm from the pipe cut. For
a tighter fit of the limiter, we recommend warming up the adhesive layer with an
industrial hair dryer.

The limiter should not cover the entire diameter of the duct - it should be glued
so as to leave one segment open.
The air duct must be placed in the wall so that the open gap ("a" in the diagram)
is located at the bottom.

Step 4:
Insert the ceramic heat accumulator into the air duct and push it in about half the
length of the pipe. Align the air duct behind the center of the mounting hole with a
slope of 0.6 to 2% toward the street.
At the same time from the street the air duct should:
- protrude from the wall by 10-15 mm, if you purchased a complete set with an
external metal cover;
- to be at the level of a wall, at a complete set with an external lattice.
Step 5:
After installing the air duct in the wall in the correct position, fix it with foam.

When working with foam, be sure to wear work gloves and goggles to
prevent foam from getting into your eyes and skin. Make sure the
product you are going to use is safe.
Warning! Make sure that the air duct is not deformed during installation
and until the foam is completely solidified. Do not remove the heat
exchanger until the foam is completely solidified!
Step 6:
After the foam has completely hardened, it is necessary to check the ease of
access to the heat accumulator. The heat accumulator should move easily through
the air duct - close to the limiter and until it is completely removed from the pipe.
If it is difficult or impossible to move the battery out of the air duct, it means that
the pipe has been deformed during the solidification of the mounting foam. To
eliminate deformation, it is necessary to partially or completely dismantle the
mounting foam and repeat steps 4-5.
Step 7:
Insert the ceramic heat accumulator into the air duct and slide it close to the
limiter. Install the fan cartridge (with the grille facing the room) close to the
ceramic heat accumulator. Route the wires from the fan inside the room.
Step 7 (optional):
If your model comes with additional sound insulation in the form of a Ventoxx
Star sound absorber, install it directly behind the fan - in the free space between
the fan cartridge and the edge of the air duct. Slide the wires from the fan through
the hole in the sound absorber and lead them towards the room.
Warning! Installation of the noise absorber is possible only with the minimum
length of the air duct must be at least 400 mm.

Step 8:
To prevent precipitation from entering the wall material or thermal insulation,
the space between the hole in the wall and the air duct must be sealed on the
outside of the building by applying a sealing mixture (plaster, mortar, sealant).
Step 9:
Attach the outer grille if your equipment involves closing the recuperator with a
grille on the street side.
The grille fastening system is selected according to your façade system, type of
thermal insulation, construction, wall material and may not correspond to the
fasteners included in the delivery set.
Attach the grille to the mounting location and mark with a pencil the points for
drilling the holes. Drill holes for your mounting system, clean them and the air
duct of debris. Install the fasteners in the holes, attach the cover and bolt it to the
wall with the fastening system.

If the wall surface is rough or uneven, we recommend applying sealant to the
inner surface of the plastic grille flange to eliminate the gap between the cover
and the wall.
Step 9-b:
Attach the outer metal cover, if your equipment provides closing of the
recuperator with a cover with protection against weather.
The system of fastening of an external metal cover (anchors, dowels, screws) is
chosen according to your facade system, type of thermal insulation, design, wall
material and may not correspond to the sizes included in the package.
Mark the points of the mounting holes on the wall. To install the anchors, the
diameter of the holes in the mounting plate is 9 mm.
On the part of the air duct protruding from the wall, put a mounting plate with a
seal and make marks with a pencil to drill holes. Remove the mounting plate. Drill
holes and remove debris from holes and air ducts.
Please note that if the sealant does not adhere tightly to the wall, precipitation
can get into the middle of the wall and damage the structure of the building. In
this case it is necessary to level unevennesses of a wall by means of sealant.
However, do not forget to pay attention to the required distance between the
mounting plate and the wall - 3-5 mm. Press the mounting plate against the wall,
screw the anchors.

Step 10:
Put the hood of the outer cover on top of the mounting plate, winding the lugs of
the metal cover in the space between the wall and the mounting plate.

5. ELECTRICAL CONNECTION OF THE DEVICE
5.1. General Information
The Ventoxx Harmony recuperator has various control options via a remote
control or a wired, wall-mounted Ventoxx Twist control.
In addition, depending on the number and location of devices that you install in
the room, you should connect to each other recuperators that work in pairs. Next,
the instructions describe the different options for electrical connection, depending
on the above parameters of the recuperators you purchased.
5.2. Connection of master-slave pairs and control of the recuperator by
remote control
Devices of a basic complete set are divided into two types: 1)
main;
2) conducted.
You can distinguish between main and slave devices by the marks on the package:
- (red) main device; - (blue) slave device.
The main device - the only device that responds to signals remote control or
Ventoxx Twist control. On this device, the user can enable the selected operating
mode, as well as switch the connected slave device to the desired operating mode.
The current operating mode is displayed as an indication on the head unit cover or
on the Ventoxx Twist control. Also, the main unit can operate autonomously,
without connection to the slave.
Slave device does not have its own power supply, but its fan connect directly to
the three-wire bus of the main unit, as shown in the figure.

A three-core cable is used to control the slave devices. Depending on the length
of the highway choose wires with the following cross-sectional area:
• up to 10 m - 0.75 mm2;
• up to 20 m - 1 mm2;
• up to 30 m - 1.5 mm2.
When using a three-core trunk cable, the connection to the green connector must
be made via an adapter with a wire with a cross-section of no more than 0.5 mm.2.
After connecting all the recuperators and installing the internal covers, the main
recuperator can be switched on with the remote control.
If several pairs of recuperators are installed in an apartment or house, any main
recuperator can be controlled with one remote control.

instruction.

Step 1:
