Quick Start Guide
Bluetooth®Speaker HumX OBD Reader
Create Your
Account
Enter your System ID, found on
the side of the box. Then, complete
a few simple steps.
Download the
Hum App
Go to the App Store or Google Play™
to download the Hum App, then
“Create Account.”

The OBD-II port is usually located under
the driver’s side dash. For help locating
your OBD-II port, visit hum.com/port.
We recommend charging your Speaker
for at least 20 minutes.
Install Your
Equipment
Charge the Speaker and clip it to
your visor. With your vehicle turned off, plug
the OBD Reader into the OBD-II port of your
compatible vehicle.
IMPORTANT: Make sure your vehicle is OFF
before installing your OBD Reader.
Your vehicle data will update on the
Hum App after you take your rst drive.
TIP:
What’s in the box
Turn on vehicle ignition.
Enable Wi-Fi on the smartphone,
laptop, tablet, or other device you
want to connect.
Select your HumXnetwork (SSID).
Enter your HumXpassword to connect.

Your temporary HumXnetwork name (SSID)
and password (PW) are located on the back
of your HumXSpeaker.
Wi-Fi Setup:
SSID: hum12345
PW: ABC1234!
The speaker allows you to quickly connect to a trained Emergency Assistance agent
in the event of a collision, or to Customer Service and other important Hum services.
Bluetooth®Speaker
Do not place your speaker in direct sunlight. Fold the visor up to its stored position
when leaving your vehicle so the speaker is not exposed to direct sunlight through
the windshield or side glass.
The area and range of communications services are dependent on cellular coverage.

Press to place an outgoing call.
Press to end an active call.

A Hands-Free Calling
On/Off Switch Switch “On” to
enable Bluetooth®.
B Customer Service Icon
Tap, then push the Call Button to
connect with a Hum specialist,
request roadside assistance or
to reach the Mechanics Hotline.
C NumberShare Icon
Tap, select your contact, then
press the Call Button.
D Emergency Assistance Icon
Tap, then push the Call Button
for emergency assistance.
E Mute Button
Press to mute the
microphone during a call.
F Volume Buttons +/-
Control the speaker volume or
mute incoming call ringer.

Set up NumberShare
Pair your phone to the Bluetooth®Speaker
Sign into your My Verizon account, go to Manage Connected
Devices to share your phone number with the HumXSystem.
Open the Hum App and from the menu, select NumberShare
and add up to three Hum Contacts.
To make a call, tap the NumberShare icon. Use the arrows to
select one of your Hum contacts and press the Call button.

Add up to three contacts to your HumXSpeaker for NumberShare.
You can update your Hum Contacts at any time.
NOTE:
Connect to Wi– Fi
Turn on your vehicle’s ignition, then move the Hands-Free On/Off Switch to the “On” position.
Press and hold the Call Button for ve seconds.
Enable Bluetooth®on your phone, then select “Hum.” If prompted for a PIN, enter 0000.
