DO NOT USE VERSALADDER WITHOUT FOLLOWING THE INSTRUCTIONSSTEPBY STEP
IMPORTANT
- Please read these instructions before using the Versaladder. Follow the instructions carefully to avoid any
serious injuries.
- Check that the Versaladder is in perfect condition before using it.
- Never use the Versaladder if a part is missing or damaged.
- Never use the Versaladder if it has been exposed to high heat (e.g. in a fire) or in contact with corrosive agents.
- Never use the Versaladder if you are not in good physical condition.
- Never use the Versaladder in front of doors unless they are locked.
- Always use the Versaladder on a firm surface.
- Before using the Versaladder, ensure it will not slip.
- Never use the Versaladder on a wet floor.
- Never try to increase the height of the Versaladder by placing an object under it, or use a movable object to
make the floor level.
- Before getting onto the Versaladder, check that all its four feet are resting firmly on the surface to ensure it does
not wobble.
- When climbing the Versaladder, always keep at least two rungs above the one you’re stepping on so that you
can maintain yourfooting and avoid losing yourbalance.
- Be very careful when you push or pull an object while you are standing on the Versaladder as it can make you
lose your balance.
- Be very careful when climbing up or down the Versaladder.
- Whenever possible, get someone to holdthe Versaladder when you are standing on it.
- Never try to move or rock the Versaladder when you are standing on it.
- Be very careful when using the Versaladder in a strong wind.
- The maximum weight the Versaladder will withstand is 150 kg (weight of one person plus materials and tools).
- DANGER:The Versaladder is made of aluminium, which is a metal that conducts electricity. Serious injury (or
even death) may be caused if the ladder gets into contact with an electric current.
- Never use the Versaladder near an electric current and take special care with all electric cables.
- Always keep the Versaladder clean.
- Clean the Versaladder after each use.
- Regularly check the parts and hinges of the Versaladder. Oil the hingesregularly, but do so carefully to ensure
no oil drips on the rungs or side rails.

ATTACHINGTHE PLASTIC PROTECTORS TO THE OUTERLADDER
Before using the Versaladder, attach the plastic protectors
to the upper ends of the outerladder. You will find the
plasticprotectors in a plasticbag.
To attach the plastic protectors, proceed as follows:
1. Pull out the four Height Adjustment Locks. This will
release the two parts of the ladder.
2. Take the innerladder completely out of the outer
ladder.
3. Attach the plastic protector to each of the upper ends
of the outer ladder and check they are perfectly fastened.
4. Fit the inner ladder into the outer one again and put
the Versaladder back to its original position.
USING THE HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT LOCKS
The Versaladder can be converted into anextendable ladder thanks to the four height adjustment locks on the
side rails that secure the ladder at the desired height.
To release the locks, pull them out and turn slightly. Each device works separately, thereby offering greater freedom
of movement.
ADJUSTING LADDER HEIGHT
- Pull out the four height adjustment locks and turn. The inner and
outer parts of the Versaladder are thus released and can be adjusted
to the desired height.
- Pull out the inner ladder until the desired height is reached.
- Hold the inner ladder in one hand. Turn each of the height adjustment
locks with the other hand and fit into the holesin the side rail.This
will lock the ladder at the desired height. Ensure that the four height
adjustment locks fit perfectly into the holes in the side rail. Hold the
innerladder firmly during this operation to prevent any accidents
from occurring.
USING THE DUAL-POSITION LOCKING HINGES
The ladder can be lockedin two different positions by means of the hinges with
levers at the top of the Versaladder:

LOCKED UNLOCKED
b) Straight Extension ladder
To adjust the angle to the desired position, proceed as follows:
N.B.: If the ladder is completely folded in the storage position, the lock tabs will already be in the unlocked
position,so you can go straight to Step 2.
1. To unlock the hinges, pull the lever on each hinge up until the lock tab is in the unlockedposition.
2. With the hingesunlocked, open the Versaladder to an angle of 35º to make the stepladder, or 180º for the
straight extension ladder.
3. The hinges automatically lock when eitherof the two positions is reached (stepladder or straight extension
ladder). The ladder will only lock into position at 35º or 180º.
4. To close the ladder or change from one position to another, repeat Steps 1 and 2.
Important: Always make sure the hinges are properly locked before you get on the Versaladder,i.e. the lock tabs
must always be in the locked position.
POSITIONS
The VersaLadder can be used in a wide variety of positions without any need for additional materials. The
following instructions indicate how to achieve the different positions:
STEPLADDER POSITION
To make a stepladder, proceedas follows:
1. Adjust to the desired height following the "ADJUSTING LADDER HEIGHT"instructions.
2. To open out the ladder, pull up the levers on each hinge until the lock tabs are in the unlockedposition.
N.B.: If the ladder is completely folded in the storage position, the lock tabs will already be in the unlocked
position,so you can go straight to Step 3.

3. With the hinges unlocked, open the Versaladder to an angle of 35º to make the stepladder. The tabs automatically
lock when thisposition is reached.
Other uses of the stepladder
STEPLADDER WITH SECTIONSOF DIFFERENT LENGTHS
1. Follow the "STEPLADDER POSITION" instructions above.
2. Shorten one leg of the Versaladder so that the foot rests as desired on a higherlevel or stair. To do so, pull
out the two height adjustment locks on the leg you want to shorten and turn. The leg is thus released and can
easily be shortened.
3. When the desired length is reached, fit both height adjustment locksinto the corresponding holesin the side
rail.
Follow the same steps when you want one leg of the stepladder in a vertical position and the other in a diagonal
position.This is an ideal solution when you need to access a vertical wall.
STRAIGHT EXTENSION LADDER POSITION
1. Adjust to the desired height following the "ADJUSTING LADDER HEIGHT"instructions.
2. To extendthe ladder, pull up the levers on each hinge until the lock tabs are in the unlockedposition.
N.B.: If the ladder is completely folded in the storage position, the lock tabs will already be in the unlocked
position,so you can go straight to Step 3.
3. With the hingesunlocked, extend the ladder to an angle of 180º to make a straight extension ladder. The
hinges will lock automatically when this position is reached.
N.B.: When you open the ladder, the hingeswill first lock automatically in the 35º position. You will need to
unlock the hinges before you can open the ladder to 180º, where they will automatically lock again.

BASIC SCAFFOLDING POSITION
1. Pull out the four height adjustment locksand turn, so that the innerladder is released completely.
2. Remove the inner ladder completely from the outerone.
3. Put the innerladder in the stepladder position.
4. Turn one of the sections of the outer ladder aroundand join the two sectionswith the height adjustment locks,
as shown in the photo.
5. Place a plank between the two stepladders to construct a scaffolding.
IMPORTANT: Never place the plank on the top rung - always on the second rung or lower.
