X610 Rev 399 V1512MM-AIntroduction •• 1
Introduction
The information in this manual covers the installation of the V1512MM-A Monitor Mount and V1512WM Mounting
Adapter. This unit should be installed by a qualified technician using approved materials. Read these
instructions through completely before attempting installation.
The V1512MM-A Monitor Mount provides secure, attractive mounting of the VM5093 and VM6092 9-inch and
VM5123 12-inch monitors. It is finished in black semigloss enamel and black anodized aluminum and is
intended for suspension from either a ceiling or wall, using Model V1512WM Wall Mounting Adapter if desired.
Installation
Unpacking and Inspection
All Vicon equipment is tested and inspected before leaving the factory. It is the carrier’s responsibility to deliver
the equipment in the same condition as it left the factory.
Inspect the cartons upon delivery and, if damage is present, make detailed notes on the carrier’s bill. Then
obtain the carrier’s agent signature and file a damage claim as soon as possible.
Open the cartons and inspect the equipment for damage. Save the cartons and packing material. If damage is
present, contact the carrier and file a damage claim immediately. If the equipment must be returned for repair,
refer to the Shipping Instructions Section of this manual.

2•• Installation X610 Rev 399 V1512MM-A
Installing the V1512WM
The V1512WM may be mounted from either a wall or a ceiling in two possible arrangements. Refer to Figure 1 to
determine which configuration is appropriate for the installation. Position A is used most often.
Installing in Position A
Attach the adapter to either the wall or ceiling using 5/16 x 2-inch bolts or lag screws. If the structure has a
wood frame, the lag screws must be screwed into wall studs or ceiling joists. If the mounting surface is masonry
or concrete, use lead anchors for the lag screws. If the V1512WM has been ceiling mounted, attach the short
right-angle bracket with a 5/16 x 1-inch bolt, lock washer and nut.
Installing in Position B
Remove the strut completely from the L bracket before mounting the L bracket to the wall or ceiling. In wall
installations, allow enough room above the L bracket for the strut. Mount the L bracket as shown for position A
and loosely attach the strut to it. Bolt the strut to the wall or ceiling with 5/16 hardware and tighten the screw
holding the strut to the L bracket. If the V1512WM has been ceiling mounted, attach the short right-angle
bracket with a 5/16 x 1-inch bolt, lock washer and nut.

Installing the V1512MM-A
The V1512MM-A Monitor Mount is designed to accommodate the VM5093, VM6092 and VM5123 monitor.
When it is used with the VM5123, an extra kit must be used.
Monitor Mount Kit Contents
The V1512MM-A includes an accessory kit that is used to adapt the VM5123 monitor to be installed in the
V1512MM-A. This is in addition to the hardware included for general installation of the monitor mount. Refer to
Table 1. A 3/8 nut driver, not supplied, is helpful for installation.

Installing the V1512MM-A with the VM5123
The V1512MM-A may be mounted directly to a rigid overhead support or suspended from the V1512WM
Mounting Adapter. If the unit is to be used with the V1512WM, proceed through the following steps 1-13. If the
unit is to be mounted to a rigid overhead support, proceed through steps 1-15. Refer to Figures 2 and 3.
1. Turn the monitor over on a clean work space. Remove the front feet.
2. Remove the monitor mounting channels that are taped to the monitor mount frame for shipping.
3. Remove the four screws on the bottom plate on the monitor. Retain these screws. Leave the screw in the
center in place. Refer to Figure 2.
4. Insert two of the flat head screws provided up through the countersunk holes in the bracket.
5. Position the bracket on the monitor bottom (with the countersunk side of the bracket down, screws pointing
up) so that two holes align with the holes where the screws were removed. Secure the bracket to the
monitor with the screws previously removed.
6. Insert the U channel on the flat head screw with the U facing down (towards the monitor bottom) and secure
with the nut, flat washer and split lock washer. Using a nut driver (3/8) to tighten screw is suggested.
7. Repeat the procedure to install the second bracket on the other side of the monitor.
8. Install the rubber protective strips to the monitor side supports. Refer to Figure 3.
9. Loosen slightly the two large pan head screws on the top frame member and spread the two halves of the
mount apart to allow space for the monitor.
10. Unscrew both tilt control knobs and attached washers completely and reassemble, selecting appropriate
holes in the side and lower mount members to adjust the height of the mount to fit the monitor. Allow
approximately 2 to 2-1/2 inches clearance at the top of the monitor for tilt adjustment.

4•• Installation X610 Rev 399 V1512MM-A
11. Turn the monitor on its back and fit the monitor mount around it, attaching the lower mount member to the U
channels using the 1/4-20, 5/8 inch long screws and flat washers provided. Do not fully tighten the screws.
12. Adjust the mount for proper tilt angle and tighten tilt control knobs. Move the monitor forward and backward
until proper balance is achieved and tighten the channel screws.
13. Slide the side members of the mount in until the rubber strips on the side supports are firmly against the
monitor. Tighten the large pan head screws on the top member.
If the unit is being mounted to the V1512WM, attach the V1512MM-A with the 5/16 x 1-1/2 inch bolt, lock
washer and nut provided with the V1512WM. Place the two 1-3/4 inch spacers provided with the V1512MM-A
between the L bracket and the monitor.
If the unit is being mounted to a rigid overhead support, continue through step 15.
14. Determine the material of the overhead support. If it is wood, drill a 7/32-inch pilot hole in the overhead
support. If the overhead support is concrete, install a 5/16 lead screw anchor. If the support is steel, drill an
11/32-inch hole.
15. Fasten the monitor and mount assembly to the overhead support with the appropriate hardware, 5/16 x 2-
inch lag screw for a wood or concrete support or a 5/16-inch bolt of suitable length with washer, lock washer
and nut for steel support.
This completes the assembly of the VM5123 monitor and the V1512MM-A monitor mount.
