Return connecting pipe replacement

Safety instructions
Observe the following safety instructions:
Installation, initial start−up, inspection,
maintenance and repairs must be
carried out by a competent person
(heating engineer/installation
contractor).
Before working on the equipment/
heating system, isolate the power
supply (e.g. by removing a separate
mains fuse or by means of a mains
isolator) and safeguard against
unauthorised reconnection.
Close the main gas shut−off valve
and safeguard against unauthorised
reopening.
It is not permitted to carry out repairs
on parts that fulfil a safety function.
For replacements, use only original
spare parts from Viessmann or those
which are approved by Viessmann.

Removing the burner
1. Shut down the heating system.
2. Close the gas shut−off valve and
safeguard against reopening.
3. Release the screw1on the front
panel 2and remove the front
panel.
4. Shut off the secondary side of the
boiler.
Note
The boiler is still filled with water.
5. Pivot control unit3downwards.
6. Remove screws and pull out cover
plate4.

7. Pull cables from the fan
motor5, gas valve6and
ignition unit7.
8. Remove the control hose8.
9. Release the gas connecting pipe
fitting9.
10. Release the four screwsqP and
remove the burner.

Removing the connecting pipe
1. Position a container underneath
the boiler water temperature
sensor1, remove the locking
spring2and remove the boiler
water temperature sensor1.
Collect drained heating water in
the container.
2. Remove the screw and the heating
water flow connecting pipe3
with sensors.
3. Release the pipe tie and remove
the condensate pipe4from the
heat exchanger.
4. Remove screws and the flue
outlet5.
5. Release the hexagon nuts and
remove the heat exchanger6
with the heating water return
connecting pipe.
Note
Water may escape from the heat
exchanger.

6. Release the screws and remove
the heating water return
connecting pipe7.
7. Remove the spring clip8and
the return temperature sensor9
from the old connecting pipe7
and fit with the new Oring to the
new connecting pipe7.
8. Connect the new heating water
return connecting pipe7to the
heat exchanger and secure it with
the screw.
9. Install the heat exchanger6in
the boiler and secure it with the
hexagon nuts.
10. Assemble the boiler in reverse
order.
Insert a new flat gasket on the
gas supply pipe.
11. Fill the boiler with water, flush
out and check for leaks.
