1 . 1 W a r n i n g s
This product has been manufactured in accordance with rigorous technical rules of security in accordance
with the standards of the EC. The EC declaration, as well as the instructions, can be downloaded from the
Internet site www.vim.fr.
Before installing and using this product, carefully read these instructions which contain important indi-
cations for your safety and that of users during the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of this
product.
Once the installation is complete, leave this manual in the machine for any later consultation.
The installation of this product (installation, connections, commissioning, maintenance) and all other inter-
ventions must be carried out by a professional applying the rules of the art, safety standards, and regula-
tions in force.
It must comply with the requirements relating to the Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) and the Low
Voltage Directive.
VIM will not be responsible for any possible bodily injury and/or material damage caused when the safety
instructions have not been followed or following a modication of the product.
The KSDR ECOWATT® single ow units are intended for single ow ventilation and air handling applica-
tions in kitchens or tertiary buildings.
Indoor (recommended) or outdoor installation:
• Max. permanent environment temperature: -30°C / +40 °C.
• To avoid damage to electronic components (very low temperature, condensation) the safety switch
located on the front panel must be maintained in the "ON" position except for maintenance periods.
• Relative humidity: 95% max. without condensation.
• Atmosphere not potentially explosive.
• Atmosphere of low salinity without any corrosive chemical agents.

• Use the appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for any handling operation.
• Before installing the air handling unit (AHU), make sure that the support and location are su󰀩ciently
resistant to bear the weight of the unit and accessories.
• Respect the danger labels present on the various access doors or panels:
• Live electrical equipment / Rotating machinery / Potentially ammable dust-laden lters:

• Do not open the access doors without having cut the electrical power from the lockable safety iso-
lator switch located on the unit
• If there is work to be performed on the device, cut the electrical power at the main circuit breaker and
make sure that nobody is able to reconnect it accidentally.
• Make sure that any mobile parts have stopped.
• Check that the fan motor is not accessible from the connection sheath.
Before start-up, check the following points:
• Ensure that the device does not contain any foreign body.
• Check that all the components are fastened in their original locations.
• Manually check that the fan is not rubbing and is not blocked.
• Check the connection of the earth electrode.
• Check that the access cover is securely closed.

In the event of any lack, non-conformity, or total or partial damage of the delivered products, the Buyer
must note its written reservations on the carrier's receipt in accordance with Article 133-3 of the Commer-
cial Code and conrm them within 72 hours by registered letter with a copy sent to VIM.
The receipt of the material without reservation deprives the Buyer of any subsequent recourse against us.
The product must be stored out of bad weather and protected from any impacts and stains caused by
projections of any kind during its transport from the supplier to the end client, and on the work site prior to
installation.
1 . 4 W a r r a n t y
The material provided by VIM is guaranteed for 12 months - Parts only - from the invoice date. VIM un-
dertakes to replace any parts or equipment which are recognised by our services as being faulty, with the
exception of any damages, interests, or penalties such as operating losses, commercial prejudice, or other
immaterial or indirect damages.
Our warranty excludes any faults related to improper use or any use that is non-compliant with the rec-
ommendations of our instructions, any faults observed following normal usage, any incidents caused by
negligence, lack of monitoring or maintenance, or any defects due to poor installation of the equipment or
unsuitable storage conditions prior to assembly.
In no case may VIM be held responsible for any transformed or repaired equipment, even partially.

The units are delivered screwed onto pallets.
The handling of KSDR ECOWATT® air handling unit casings can be managed by pallet truck, forklift truck,
or crane. Handling machines will be appropriate for the load and lifting conditions. The fan modules of
sizes 160 and 200 cannot be loaded on a conventional tailgate.
The device must be handled with care and only in a horizontal position. Holes of 50 mm Ø are provided
in the frame allowing the insertion of a tube to attach the slings. To avoid damage to the unit casing, it is
necessary to use long slings and compensator type spacers .
When using a forklift or pallet truck, use forks that are long enough to not depress the bottom panel and to
avoid tipping over. Position the forks low enough to not damage the doors.

The KSDR ECOWATT® AHU must be placed on a horizontal and smooth surface that is able to support the
load. The KSDR ECOWATT® AHU versions D and G are intended for indoor installation at the premises.
Only the versions EXD and EXG are delivered with a roof that can be used outdoors.
In all cases, provide any ducts, connection accessories, anti-vibration and anti-freezing protection needed
for the unit.
It is important to provide enough space (Z at the minimum) to allow panels opening, commissioning, and
maintenance (lters, fans, heat exchanger). Do not place the unit against a wall to avoid the transmission
of solid-state noise.

For sizes 48, 88 and 120, the doors rest in a lower groove before being retained by their locks.

For sizes 88 - 120 - 160 - 200, the units are delivered with galvanized steel crosspieces, 3 mm thick,
100 mm high, with an assembly system between the two modules, drilling for anti-vibration pads location
or feet for levelling. The chassis can allow lifting one unit after assembly on the ground.

The hydraulic features of the unit are particular to your requirement and
are determined by computer selection: loss of pressure on the water/
water ow. Refer to the selection for sizing the valve, accessories, and
pump.
The connection of the piping to the unit must not impose any mechanical,
vibration or thermal (dilation) constraints.
The units are delivered already threaded at the ends.
During the tightening of the unit thread, hold the tubing with the aid of a
wrench to prevent the tubes being damaged by twisting.
Respect the water entry and exit direction indicated on the labels glued
to the coil panel(s)

A change-over thermostat (THCO) is to be installed on the hydraulic network and connected to the elec-
trical cabinet of the unit. It allows inversion of the mixing valve control in installations with only one unit,
according to the uid temperature detected at valve inlet.

The unit is equipped with a droplet separator and a
condensate drain tray of stainless steel welded at
the corners.
The condensate drain is 35 mm long and 14 mm in
diameter. The unit casings are all in overpressure
during the operation of the KSDR so that a water
siphon is not required.
Install a ball siphon to avoid the return of odours
from the network when the machine is stopped.
Insulate the condensate drain pipe to prevent the
formation of condensation, and to prevent the risk of
freezing of the drainage in relation to the conditions
of use.

5 . 1 C o n n e c t i o n o f t h e d u c t s
The ducts should not impose any mechanical constraints on the unit.
Check that the fan-motor is not accessible from the connection line (protection by the connection duct or
an air inlet grill).
Depending on the conguration of the installation and the sound level required, the addition of a silencer
may be necessary at the air discharge.
Take great care to waterproof the networks along all their lengths, from the entrances to the exits.
The fresh air duct must always be insulated, to avoid losses and the risk of condensation. The insulation
level, particularly in cold rooms and regions, must be reinforced.

The connection of the casings to the aeraulic network is made on their suction or supply frames.
Smooth anges for rectangular or circular connections, to attach with crimping nuts to the suction or supply
frames of the casings, are available.

To prevent the entrance of water due to precipitation, a rain protection hood is mounted at the suction and
is fastened by crimping nuts on the suction framework of the KSDR after dismantling the grills. The version
CHR includes an on/o󰀨 24 V servomotor power supplied by the main power supply of the KSDR control. It
is managed by the KSDR controller.
