This procedure provides instruction to setup and test the communication between a bank
of machines and a Vertex
TM
Jackpot Controller during Production.

PROCEDURE

A. .Retrieve the Vertex Jackpot Controller and Switch box from Tek Chek.
B
B. .Set the Jackpot Controller inside the holding bracket on the Test Cart as shown.
C
C. .Connect the Power cable into the Vertex box (See No.1 below)
D
D. .Connect the DVI cable (already connected to the LCD) to the Vertex box (See No. 2).
E
E. .Plug one end of the CAT5 Vertex cable (supplied on Test Cart) into the Ethernet Port on the front
of the Vertex box (See No. 3 below).
F
F. .Open the front cover on the Vertex box, and connect the Keyboard USB cable (No. 4).

A. .Set the 24-port Switch Box inside the designated shelf on the conveyor.
B
B. .Connect the CAT5 Vertex cable to the Switch.
C
C. .If necessary, disconnect the existing CAT5 cable from the Carrier Assembly.
D
D. .Connect the Retractable CAT5 Machine cable to each corresponding EGM.
E
E. .
For each CAT5 Machine cable connected, plug the corresponding Switch cable into the Switch.
FOR EXAMPLE:If Retractable CAT5 Cable No. 1 is connected to an EGM, then you must plug
CAT5 Switch Cable No. 1 into the Switch.

F. .Repeat Steps C through E for all remaining EGM’s in the bank.
Retractable CAT5 Machine Cables are numbered to correspond with CAT5 Switch Cables.
G
G. .Turn each EGM ON.
H
H. .While the EGM’s are booting up, move onto the next step to setup the Jackpot Controller.

A. .Turn the Vertex Jackpot Controller ON (switch is located on the front of the box).
B
B. .When the Vertex Shell appears on the Test Cart LCD, make note of the Vertex IP Address
(lower right) for future reference (you’ll need it to link the Jackpot Controller with the Bank).

Proceed with the following steps once every machine has finished booting up.

A. .Beginning with the first machine in the Bank, turn the Audit Key to enable Operator Mode.
B
B. .When the Operator Mode Menu appears on the EGM Main LCD, go to:
Operator Setup/Selections > G2S Configuration > Host Setup

C. .On the G2S HOST SETUP menu, follow the onscreen instructions to “add host address.”

D. .When the onscreen keyboard appears on the EGM Main LCD, enter the Vertex IP Address.
The Host Address (Vertex IP Address) MUST be entered in the following format:
Vertex IP address +/g2shost. For example: 192.168.1.21/g2shost.

E. .When finished entering the Vertex IP Address, click the Enter button to return to the G2S
HOST SETUP menu.
F
F. .From the G2S HOST SETUP menu, follow the onscreen instructions to “add client port.”

G. .When the onscreen keyboard appears, type the Client Port Number and click Enter .
The Client Port number is always 9091

H. .Follow the onscreen instructions to return to the “previous menu” (G2S CONFIGURATION MENU).

I. .On the G2S CONFIGURATION MENU,select Communications Setup.

J. .When the G2S Communications Setup screen appears, make note of the EGM ID.

K. .Follow the onscreen instructions to “return to the previous menu” to the Operator Mode Menu.

L. .Turn the Audit Key to reboot the machine.

M. .Repeat Steps A through M for all remaining EGMs in the bank.

B. .Log in to the system to access the Vertex Administrator application.

A. .Select Casino Management from the Modules dropdown menu.

B. .On the Casino Management main window, click the Add button to open the Casino List.

C. .Enter the name and address of the Casino associated with the order, and click Save .

A. .Select EGM Management from the Modules dropdown menu .

B. .On the EGM Management main window, click the Add button .

C. .When the Add EGM box appears, enter the EGM ID (noted earlier) of the first EGM.

D. .Click on the Casino dropdown window, and select the property associated with the order.

E. .Click the Add button to complete your entry.

F. .Repeat Steps B thru E for all remaining EGMs in the Bank.
The EGM ID must be

G. .When finished linking the entire Bank of machines, verify the EGMs are communicating properly
with Vertex.
Once a machine is linked, the EGM ID will appear in GREEN when the machine is
successfully communicating with the Jackpot Controller. The EGM ID will appear in
RED to indicate faulty communication. See below.

A. .When finished, press CTRL+ALT+DELETE to open the Windows Security window.
B
B. .Click Shut Down to exit the system.
C
C. .Unplug and return Vertex Jackpot Controller Box and Switch to Tek Chek.
