Chapter 1 Product Overview
1.1 Product Introduction
IPC (IP Camera, Network Camera) Combining traditional cameras and network
technology, users can remotely connect to network cameras through the network for
configuration and management.
Before accessing a network camera through the network, the first step is to obtain an IP
address. Users can use a quick configuration tool to search for the IP address of the network
camera.
1.2 Function classification
There are slight differences in the functionality of different models of products, please
refer to the actual one.

1.2.1 Basic functions
Real time monitoring
Supports real-time preview of device.
Supports Audio in preview screen.
Supports real-time snapshot of preview screen.
Supports setting encoding parameters and adjusting preview screen.
Video recording
Supports automatic recording according to the recording plan.
Supports video playback from SD card.
Supports video download from SD card

Chapter 2 Setting
2.1 Connecting device
Connect the VTC-PIR4CN-4 and a computer / NVR to the same PoE switch / router, and
plug in the power.
2.2 Searching Device IP Address
Using the IP55 search tool, click Search to get the IP address assigned to the device on
the router, which is used when logging in to the web interface.
1. Download IP55 Search Toll at VTC-PIR4CN-4 - VITEK IVP, Inc. (vitekcctv.com)
Open IP55 Search Tool by clicking the follow screen will appear
IP55 will automatically start searching the network for the PIR camera and display the IP
address in the upper righthand corner. To view the image form the camera click on the
IP address in the upper righthand corner and the following image will appear:

2. Device Settings
1. Dive Name: input the name you want
2. Click set to save name
3. Click set to change the IP address of the camera, select Static or DCHP and input
the IP address, Netmask and Gateway and the click on Set
4. To upgrade the firmware on the camera click Upgrade Firmware and browse to the
upgrade file on your computer and then click open
5. To restore factory default to the camera click Restore
2.3 Exceptional case
If you need to use the device without using a router, you need to change the IP allocation
mode of the camera from DHCP mode to Static IP mode in step 2.1 in advance. Note: When

changing to static IP, please note that the same IP address cannot exist in the LAN.
Chapter 3 Basic functions
Introduction to the basic functions of the device, including login, preview, playback,
camera attribute settings, network settings, storage management, system settings, etc.
3.1 Device login
Log in to the device's web interface through a browser, using Microsoft® Edge browser
as an example in this section.
3.1.1 Precondition
Connect the device to the same network as the computer through the router, and then
use the IP55 tool on the computer to search for the IP address of the device.
3.1.2 Procedure
Step 1 Open browser, Enter the device IP address in the address bar, enter the device
IP address obtained in the preceding prerequisites, and press Enter.
Step 2 Type in Username & Password
Default Username: admin，password: 123456.

Step 3 Click “Login”.
Preview page is displayed.
3.2 Preview operation
Introduction to the layout and functional configuration of the preview interface.
3.2.1 Preview interface layout

The preview interface is slightly different for different devices.
1. User name/Exit Displays the logged-in user name for this device.
2. Live video Select the button to view the live screen of the device.
3. Primary/Secondary streams Switches the primary and secondary streams of the live
screen.
4. Mute switch Turns on/off the sound of the live screen.
5. Screenshot Save the image button that captures the live screen.
6. Real-time screen Displays the live screen of the device.
7. Video Playback View the device's recordings.
8. Basic settings To modify settings of the device.
9. Update/Maintenance
3.2.2 Logged-in user name/Logging out and re-signing in with a new user name
In the top left corner of the device preview screen, you can view the account information
of the current device login, followed by the logout button, click it to logout of the current
account and log into the device with a new account again.

3.2.3 Setting real-time screen encoding
Main stream: The encoded stream value is relatively large, the image compression ratio
is small, but occupies large bandwidth, suitable for storage and preview.
Secondary stream: The encoded stream value is relatively small compared to the main
stream, the image is smoother and takes up less bandwidth.
Click the primary/secondary stream in the picture to switch the stream of the live preview.
3.2.4 Shortcut buttons
Mute button ，when clicked, can quickly toggle whether the live audio is muted
or not.
Screenshot button ，can be clicked to quickly capture the current screen image
and download it to your local computer.

3.3 Video playback
Playback interface, the functions and operations supported by playback, including
playback and download of videos.
1. Function buttons, including play, stop, sound, time bar zoom in, zoom out, and video
download.
2. Video date, select the time (month, year, day) of the video you need to watch.
3. Timeline, showing the point in time when the video was recorded.
4. Find Videos and search for videos for specific needs.
3.3.1 Function buttons
Play: to play the selected video.
Pause: to pause the video being played.

Mute the audio.
Zoom in on the length of each unit of time displayed in the timeline.
Narrow the timeline to reduce the length of each unit of time.
Download video, download the video being played.
3.3.2 Date of video recording
Click on the date bar, select the time and date you need to view, and click OK to display
the video of that day on the timeline.
3.3.3 Timeline

The normal video is displayed in green, and the event video is displayed in red.
The time units of the timeline can be modified in the function buttons by zooming
in and out buttons.
3.3.4 Search video
Video types can be searched by all videos, timed videos, and alarm videos.
Click on the drop-down menu in the red box, select the needed recording, and click the
search button to display the required recording in the timeline.
The stream type can be searched by primary stream, secondary stream.
Click on the drop-down menu in the red box, select the needed stream, and click on the
search button to display the requested video in the timeline.
3.4 Basic settings
3.4.1 Video settings
Click on the video sub-option in the basic settings bar to modify the parameters of
the primary/secondary stream the primary stream is used as an example.

1. Primary/secondary streams, select the type of stream to modify.
2. Video encoding, support H264, H265 mode under the same image quality,
occupy less bandwidth than H.264.
3. Resolution of the video picture, the larger the value, the clearer the image, but
the more bandwidth it takes up.
4. Frame rate, the number of frames per second. The higher the frame rate, the
more realistic and smoother the image.
5. Picture quality, the better the video picture quality, the better the image is, but
it will take up more bandwidth, also supports custom modification..
6. Bitrate, modifies the bitrate of the video. The higher the bitrate, the faster the
transfer speed, but the file size will increase as well.

7. Encoding complexity, modify the encoding complexity of the video..
8. I-frame interval, modifies the I-frame interval of the video, the range of the I-
frame interval varies with the frame rate, it is recommended to set the I-frame
interval to 2 times the frame rate.
9. Restore default and restore video parameters to initial state.
3.4.2 Image settings
1. Displays, for each parameter of the device image.
2. LED, set the IR/white light related settings of the IPC..
3. OSD, set the parameters of the IPC's OSD.
4. Privacy masking, set the parameters of the privacy masking function of the
IPC.
5. ROI, set the ROI function parameter of IPC.

3.4.2.1 Display
User can adjust each parameter of the image according to the actual situation.
1． Brightness: The overall brightness of the image, When the value is relatively
large, the image tends to be white.
2． Contrast ratio: The ratio of black to white in an image. The larger the value,
the more colorful the image will be. When the value is large, the dark areas
of the image are too dark and the bright areas are easily overexposed.
When the value is small, the image is gray.
3． Saturation: The degree of brightness of an image's color. The larger the
value, the brighter the image. Adjusting saturation does not affect the
overall brightness of the image.
4． Sharpness: The sharpness of the edges of an image. The larger the value,
the clearer the image.
5． BLC: Turning on backlight compensation in a backlight environment can
avoid the phenomenon of silhouettes in the darker parts of the subject.
6． HLC: After turning on, the system suppresses the brightness of the
highlighted area in the image, reduces the size of the halo area, and
reduces the brightness of the entire image.
7． 2D NR: Average the pixels of a single frame image with other surrounding
pixels to reduce image noise.
8． 3D NR: Process multiple frames (at least 2 frames) of images and use the
inter frame information between the front and back frames of the video to
reduce noise in the image. The higher the noise reduction level, the better
the noise reduction effect, but the larger the image drag.
9． White balance: The white balance function can correct color deviation in
images caused by lighting, making white objects in the image appear white
in different color environments.

White balance R, G, B values, manually adjust the parameter values of
the image to adjust the device to the optimal state.
10. Power frequency：including 50Hz, 60Hz two modes.
50Hz: When the main power is 50 Hz, the exposure is automatically
adjusted according to the scene brightness, while ensuring that the
image does not show horizontal stripes.
60Hz: When the main power is 60 Hz, the exposure is automatically
adjusted according to the scene brightness, while ensuring that the
image does not show horizontal stripes.
11. Forced Anti-flicker: The camera automatically adjusts the exposure time to
avoid flickering between light and dark.
12. Horizontal tailor：Pixels to be cropped for horizontal direction setting.
13. Vertical tailor：Vertically set pixels to be cropped.
14. Mirror：Switch for image mirroring.
15. Flip：Switch for image flip.
16. Defogging：When the device is in a fog, haze, or other environment, the
image quality will decrease. The clarity of the image can be adjusted through
the fog through this function.
17. Exposure type：Make the image clearer by adjusting the exposure time.
Automatic: Automatically adjust display brightness according to the
environment.
Manual: Manually set the exposure time to adjust the display brightness of
the image.
3.4.2.2 LED：Adjusting the lighting mode of the device

1. Day/Night Mode: Set the image to display in black and white, color, or switch
between color and black and white depending on the environment.
2. Sensitivity: Set sensitivity for light dark switching.
3. Alarm Time Interval：Set the interval time for triggering an alarm.
3.4.2.3 OSD：Set the screen display information.
1. Enable OSD: Switch on/off screen display information.
2. Color Style: Select the color style for displayed information.
3. Font size: Select the font size for displayed information.
4. Overlay Items: Switch for various types of information that need to be
displayed, including title, resolution, bit rate, time, and week.
5. Date Position: Select the position of the date, which can be in four directions:
top left, top right, bottom left, and bottom right.
6. Date Format：Choose the display format for dates.
7. Title Position：Choose the position of the title first, and choose from four
directions: top left, top right, bottom left, and bottom right.
8. Title Message：Enter the content to be displayed for the title.
3.4.2.4 Privacy Masking

Select to enable Privacy Masking, click on the Draw Area to draw the area that needs to be
excluded in the image, as shown in the figure, and then click on save to take effect. You
can set up to 5 areas.
3.4.2.5 ROI: Region of Interest

Select Enable ROI, select the desired encoding quality, click on the drawing area to draw
the area that needs to be excluded in the image, as shown in the figure, and then click Save
to take effect. Up to 8 areas can be set.
3.4.3 Audio Settings
Set the audio input type, volume, etc. of the device. When audio encoding is enabled,
the network transmitted bitstream is only an audio video composite stream, otherwise
only video images are included.
