Overview
VIVOTEK’s CC8371-HV is a vandal-proof IR fisheye network camera offering up to 30 fps at
3-Megapixel resolution. With its unique design and inconspicuous appearance, the CC8371-
HV is suitable for a wide array of environments. Featuring 180° horizontal panoramic views with
adjustable 25° tilt angle, the camera allows users amazing exibility of viewing angles and options.
The camera’s weather-proof compact size also makes it an ideal choice for indoor and outdoor
scenarios such as boutiques, convenience stores, banks, schools, parking lots and residential
homes. Without ligature edges, it can also be very effective in tough security installations like
prisons and mental facilities.
The CC8371-HV can view up to 180 degrees, providing complete video security without losing
angle coverage. Featuring WDR Pro, the camera captures both the dark and bright areas of an
image and combines the differences to create a highly realistic representation of the original
scene. Further, with added SNV technology, high-quality full-color surveillance video becomes
possible even under low-light conditions. These combined features enable the camera to provide
video quality remarkably close to the capabilities of the human eye. Further increasing the level of
surveillance, a built-in microphone can record sound within a 5-meter radius.
The CC8371-HV also has built-in 180° IR illuminators up to 15 meters. So no matter day or night,
light or dark, the CC8371-HV’s versatility is unmatched.

The use of surveillance devices may be prohibited by law in your country. The Network Camera
is not only a high-performance web-ready camera but can also be part of a exible surveillance
system. It is the user’s responsibility to ensure that the operation of such devices is legal before
installing this unit for its intended use.
It is important to first verify that all contents received are complete according to the Package
Contents listed below. Take note of the warnings in the Quick Installation Guide before the Network
Camera is installed; then carefully read and follow the instructions in the Installation chapter to
avoid damage due to faulty assembly and installation. This also ensures the product is used
properly as intended.
The Network Camera is a network device and its use should be straightforward for those who
have basic networking knowledge. It is designed for various applications including video sharing,
general security/surveillance, etc. The Configuration chapter suggests ways to best utilize the
Network Camera and ensure proper operations. For creative and professional developers, the URL
Commands of the Network Camera section serves as a helpful reference to customizing existing
homepages or integrating with the current web server.

Hardware Installation

It is best to avoid installing the camera with objects near within 3 meters. Objects, such
as a wall can cause reection of IR light during the night mode operation. This can cause
image blur or over-exposure at night.
IMPORTANT:
Do not remove the protective sheet before the installation is completed.

1.Jot down the camera's MAC address for later reference. This is especially important if
you install numerous cameras at an installation site.

3.Install the waterproof connector.
3-1. Insert an Ethernet cable through the cable gland, and the rubber seal.
3-2. Remove part of cable sheath. You will need an RJ45 crimping tool to attach the
Ethernet wires to a connector.
3-3. Connect the RJ45 connector and tighten the waterprorf connector with a rubber seal
within.

4. Install a ground wire to the back of the camera using an included screw. terminal block.
5. Open the top cover by loosening 4 T10 anti-tamper screws.

Installation Type: C. Tilt bracket.
The tilt bracket can be used for the scenario where you can install the camera at a higher
position while the center of the eld of view still falls at the main target of your interest.
For examaple, you can install it on the back of a counter. The best image quality of a
panoramic lens is at the center.

8. Replace the desiccant bag that is attached to the camera with one that comes with your
shipping package.
Torque: 6.5±0.5kgf-cm
9. Properly align the top cover with the camera base. Install the top cover. Please do not
over-tighten the screws.

10. Remove the protective sheet from the top cover.
11. Connect the Ethernet cable to a PoE mid-span or switch. Install the Shepherd utility
software so that you can access the camera over the network.

Software Installation
12. Install the Shepherd utility, which helps you locate and congure your Network Camera
in the local network. If your camera comes without the CD, go to VIVOTEK’s website,
and locate the utility in the Downloads > Software page.

name that matches the one printed on the product label. You can then double-click on

Forceful Password Conguration
13-1. The first time you log in to the camera, the firmware will prompt for a password
conguration for security concerns.
Since your camera is used for the rst time, there is no password. Enter “root” as the
user name, and nothting for the password.
13-2. Enter the combination of alphabetic and numeric characters to fulll the password
strength. requirement. The default name for the camera administrator is “root”, and
can not be changed.
