CARE AND MAINTENANCE
To clean the body surface, dust it off lightly
and wipe it using a clean cloth. After usage by
seaside, wipe it with a clean moist cloth to
remove the salt and then wipe it dry with a dry
cloth. Do not use benzene, paint thinner, or a
cleaner containing alcohol. (Ref. Figure 11)
Blow off all abrasive dirt and dust on the lens
surface with a camera cleaning blower or a
soft oil-free brush. With the dust removed,
use a lens cleaning tissue moistened with a
few drops of a lens cleaning solution for
fingerprints. Wipe it out gently.
(Ref. Figure 12)
The lens surface is very susceptible to
scratches. In cleaning much care must be
taken to avoid damaging the lens surface.
Read instructions for a lens cleaning solution
thoroughly if it is used.
Use a brush to remove sands and dirts from
the rotating parts on the focusing wheel and
the diopter ring. (Ref. Figure 13)

Insert the Batteries
Prepare two of fresh AAA alkaline
batteries for the product.
Confirm the power switch is set to the
off position. Pinch both protrusions of
the battery cap by fingers and lift to
open. (Fig. 1)
With checking the polarity (plus and
minus), insert the batteries into the
battery compartment. (Fig. 2)
Replace the battery cap in place.
(Fig. 3)
Be sure to use Alkaline batteries. The
product may not work correctly with
Carbon-zinc batteries and rechargeable
batteries like Ni-MH.
Remove and store the batteries
separately when you do not use the
product for a long time.
HOW TO USE!ϲ

2
Slide the power switch to the ON
position. (Fig. 4)
Make sure that the power indicator is lit
(in green or orange). (Fig. 5)
Put back the power switch to the OFF
position when you stop using the
product. (Fig. 6)
Tip:
If the green power indicator light blinks,
the batteries are exhausted. Replace
the batteries with fresh ones as the
vibration canceller may not work
correctly.

For eyeglass wearers, do not
pull out the eyecups.

HOW TO USE!ϳ
1
Take off the eyepiece cap from the
binoculars. If you use the binoculars
with your eyeglasses worn, use the
rubber eyecups as follows: It will allow
you to view the entire field of view
through the binoculars comfortably.
Twist-up Rubber Eyecup
(H14x42WP, H12x30)
With the eyeglasses worn, do not pop
up the eyecup to use the binoculars.
Leave it in the lowest position. When
using it with naked eyes or wearing
contact lenses, pull up the eyecups to
secure the field of view. (Fig. 7)
Detachable Rubber Eyecup
(H10x21)
Remove the eyecups if you use the
binoculars with your eyeglasses worn.
When using it with naked eyes or
wearing contact lenses, leave it as it is.
Besides, if you want to avoid the
adhesion of cosmetics, use the binoculars
with the eyecups attached. (Fig. 8)
You can store the binoculars with the
eyecups attached in the soft case.
The eyecups are washable.
Turn on the power switch. The vibration canceller starts activating and
the green power indicator will light.
Note:
The binoculars may buzz and can slightly vibrate as you switch the
power to ON. It is part of the specifications and not a malfunction of the
vibration canceller. The vibration ceases when the power switch is
securely set in place.
Auto Power Off
The vibration canceller function stops automatically (and the power
indicator goes off) in 90 minutes and over if the power switch is ON. To
restart the vibration canceller, turn off the power switch, and then turn it
ON again.
Adjusting the interpupillary distance.
While looking through the binoculars with
both eyes, adjust the space between the
two eyepieces so that field of view can
be seen as one circle. Be sure to make
adjustments with a distant object. (Fig. 9)
Hold a part of the eyepieces with both
hands to adjust the interpupillary
distance smoothly.
The adjustment of interpupillary
distance is to accommodate the position
of the eyepieces to your eyes rightly.
Inadequate interpupillary distance may
result in eye strain.

Diopter adjustment. While looking
through the left eyepiece with the left
eye, focus on an object at a distance by
turning the focusing wheel. (Fig. 10)
Next, while looking through the right
eyepiece with the right eye, focus on the
same object by turning the diopter ring
to adjust. (Fig. 11)
It is convenient for you to remember the
position of the diopter ring by reading
the diopter adjustment scale. And thus,
you can set the diopter ring quickly to
the same when you use the binoculars
next time.
Once you have brought the binoculars
into focus with both eyes, you use the
focusing wheel only to focus on different
objects. (Fig 12)

The ATERAѐseries binoculars have two modes of anti-vibration for
canceling vibration. Choose your preferred one depending on
circumstances.
If you turn ON the power switch while tilting the binoculars to the left, it
activates V1 Mode. (The mode indicator lights green.) If you turn ON
the power switch while tilting the binoculars to the right, it activates V2
Mode. (The mode indicator lights orange.) The previously used mode
will be activated if you power up the binoculars in level.

Putting the Strap through the Strap
Ring
As shown in the figure on the left (Fig.

About the Vibration Canceller Function
This product employs the vibration canceling function called the gimbals
control system. If sudden movement (such as moving down the
binoculars suddenly from its lateral position) happens during the
anti-vibration is activated, it may stop functioning for canceling vibration.
If this is the case, turn off the power switch and start by turning it on
again.
