1. Anti-theft coding
Role of radio coding
Removing the unit from the vehicle (for example, if you take your vehicle to the dealership for service and requires
disconnecting the battery) will be necessary to recode the radio manually. If you install the radio in another vehicle,
the recode also must be restored manually.
If SAFE appears in the display after turning on the radio, you can operate again only by entering the correct code.
Note:Thiscodenumber(4digits)iswrittenbyhandsonthelabelattachedontheradiowriting"****OK"
Turn on the radio, radio’s sound is muted. The display shows SAFE. After two seconds 1000 appears in the
display.
Use the SK [1 to 4] buttons to enter the numeric code. Use the SK [1] button to enter the first digit numerical
code. Use the SK [2] button to enter the second digit and so on. The range of values for each of the 4 digits is 0
to 9. The digits are increased by 1 to 1 every time you short press the SK buttons. The value returns to 0 after 9.
After entering the entire code, short press SK 6 [OK] button, radio output’s beep sound.
If the code has been entered properly, radio’s audio is started immediately and then goes to FM 1 band.

Incorrect numeric code
If you have accidentally entered a wrong number, “CODE 1 SAFE” will appear blinking in the display, then “CODE 1
1000”. You can repeat the process again. The number of attempts will be displayed.
If you accidentally re-enter a wrong number again, “CODE 2 SAFE” will appear fixed on screen.
The unit will be blocked per 1 hour. Leave the radio power ON and Kl.30 and Kl.15 ON during that period. After about
an hour, you can repeat the process again.
Remember, the cycle is: 2 wrong attempts -> A lockout time.

2. Factory Mode (code bypass mode)
In order to make it possible to check the unit and the periphery during the mounting at the assembly line, the unit can
be unlocked by pressing the combination of keys. That sequence can be repeated up to 50 times. The unlock unit can
play for a timeout of 15 minutes, after this time the unit locks again.
The first entering of security code will deactivate this factory mode feature.
This feature is available during radio delivery default condition with K.30 ON, regardless of the condition of the Kl.15
Activation:
Initial state: Radio OFF/ON, Kl.30 ON,

It is possible to have the Factory Mode deactivation with one of the following actions:
a. Switch radio off by pushing left knob once
b. automatic shutting off after operating time of the radio in bypass mode t = 15 minutes, regardless of the condition
of S-contact.
c. remove the battery power
d. activate of diagnosis mode via CAN message, radio switches to DIAG mode and upon terminating DIAG mode,
radio returns to bypass mode if still within 15 minutes of code-bypass operating time requirement, else radio goes to
“1000” state. If radio has not been decoded before, code bypass mode is still allowed if the number of times code
bypass used is < 50 times allowable limit.
e. activate of transport mode via CAN message, radio switches to low standby current mode and upon canceling
Transport mode, radio remains at low standby current mode or OFF mode. Upon power on, radio goes to “1000”

If none station is found, radio will display “NO STATION" per 2 seconds and then returns to the frequency where the
searching started. In this case all memory presets remain as default defined.
If less than 6 stations are found via auto store, for example only 4 stations are found and stored to the soft keys 1~4
in the AS bands, the other soft keys 5 and 6 will be displayed as “- - -“ in the AS Bands.
If there are more than 6 stations active found, the radio must select the 6 best stations, they will be memorized from
frequency low to high, after all frequency in current wave band is covered once, auto store will be implemented and
play preset 1 in FM AS or AM AS band.
5.3 Initial Autostore
Long press more than 10 sec HK [FM] or [AM] button, radio will output’s beep sound and will scan FM band,
updates best FM station into all FM presets memories. Then scan AM band and updates strongest AM stations into
AM preset memories. Display will show “INITIAL AUTOSTORE” during the process. The stations will store in the soft
key buttons 1 to 6 since lower to higher frequency.
Function is repeatable for any number of times.
All presets have to be prepared with real stations.
Only as many memory locations as existing stations are filled starting with position 1.
If more than 6 FM and 6 AM stations are available, the 6 best/strongest stations have to be memorized in the FM AS
and AM AS bands respectively.
If the amount of existing stations is less then available presets, these stations would be copied in AM, FM1 and FM2.
In AM AS, FM AS band, these free stations are marked with “- - -“
