Mounting Instructions for Vroom Garage Vac Model GH-120
Surface Mounting to Wood or Block Wall
1. For maximum coverage, choose a wall or surface that is located close to the garage door
and has an electrical outlet close by.
2. Use the paper template from the back page of this manual and tape to the wall or surface –
use a level for alignment. The Vroom Garage Vac should be installed a minimum of
3″ (75mm) from the floor, leaving room for the exhausting air. Make sure to mark the
centers of the keyholes accurately with an awl or similar object. Carefully remove template
from the wall and place with this manual for future reference.
3. Attach four (4) of the #8 screws to the wall as marked on the template leaving the screw
heads 1/8″ (3.2mm) from the surface of the wall or use concrete anchors.
4. To ensure the screws are in the proper place, install the Vroom Garage Vac (without the
tool caddy attached) by aligning the keyholes on the back of the unit with the screw
heads on the wall. Push down on the
Vroom Garage Vac to secure it in place.
If the vacuum is loose you will need to
tighten the screws further.
5. Remove the Vroom Garage Vac from the
wall and attach the tool caddy by sliding the
“dove tails” on the bottom of the caddy into
the grooves on top of the unit (Figure A).
You will hear a click when the pin on top of
the housing clicks into the corresponding
hole on the tool caddy. Install the Vroom
Garage Vac with the tool caddy onto the
screw heads as described in Step 4. If
needed, you can install another screw
through the top hole in the tool caddy.
6. Place the hose retainer on the front of the
Vroom Garage Vac by attaching first the
double sided tape to the retainer. Make
sure that the radii match the retainer
radii, and press on firmly.
NOTE: The hose retainer will fit onto the
front panel only if you can read the
“Warning” impression correctly (Figure A).
7. Check to be sure the filtration bag, motor
filter (located under the filter bag) and
exhaust filter (at bottom of unit where
air exhausts) are properly in place (see
page 9 & 10). NOTE: The motor filter
should be laying flat in all four corners.
To install the wand holder, see the next page.

Mounting Instructions for Vroom Garage Vac Model GH-120
Surface Mounting to Drywall Surfaces (1/2″, 13mm, thick)
1. For maximum coverage, choose a wall or surface that is located close to the garage door
and has an electrical outlet close by.
2. Use the paper template from the back page of this instruction manual, and tape to the wall or
surface. Vroom Garage Vac must be installed a minimum of 3″ (75mm) from the floor for the
exhausting air. Align the template so that the 2 vertical center points of the template are
aligned over the centerline of a 2x4 stud behind the drywall for additional stability. Use a
level for alignment.
3. With an awl or similar pointed object, mark the center of the key holes accurately. Carefully
remove template from the wall and place with this manual for future reference.
4. Using a 3/32 drill bit, pre-drill all 4 holes.
5. Using a 5/16 drill bit to enlarge only the
2 holes which go through the drywall
without the stud support. These are the
holes that require 2 drywall anchors.
6. Squeeze the two arms of the plastic
anchor together and insert through the
hole. Very lightly hammer the anchor
flush with the drywall surface.
7. Insert the red key-pin and push firmly
to toggle the anchor open behind the
drywall. Remove red pin.
8. Attach all four #8 screws through the
marked keyholes. Keep the screw
heads 1/8″ from the wall surface.
Follow steps 4 - 7 from Page 4 to
complete installation.
• For wood surface use the
2 screws supplied with
the wand holder package.
• For dry-wall use two 1-1/2 long
screws from the fastener package.
NOTE: The wand holder should be
mounted against a wall stud for extra
strength.

Mounting Instructions for Vroom Garage Vac Model GF-120
GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS for GF-120 WHEN PERMANENTLY WIRED
This appliance must be connected to a grounded metal, permanent wiring system; or an
equipment-grounding conductor must be run with the circuit conductors and connected to
the equipment-grounding terminal or lead on the appliance.
WARNING: Disconnect all electrical power to the wall area before installing. Do not drill near
studs where electrical cable may be secured to studs adjacent to receptacles.
NOTE: The 4 mounting holes in the outer corners of the flange of the Vroom Garage Vac must
be drilled from the back of the unit with a 3/16″ (4.5mm) drill bit when the unit is to be recessed
into a wall. To reach with the vacuum hose as far as possible, choose a wall or surface that is
centrally located and has an electrical outlet or switch from a 16 amp circuit breaker. Make
sure the wall is hollow and there are no pipes or other obstructions in the section you choose.
TIP: Find a place that is close to the garage door so that you can clean your car in the drive
way as well as inside the garage. After you cut the hole for the Vroom Garage Vac you may
prefer to paint the back wall inside the opening with a color matching the Vroom Garage Vac.

The motor filter should be laying flat in all four corners.
Recessed into Wood Surface Installation
Same procedure as above, but do not use the drywall
anchors. Pre-drill the 4 outer holes 3/32″ dia. and secure unit
with 4 screws.
Wand Holder
Installation
• For wood surface use the
2 screws supplied with
the wand holder package.
• For dry-wall use two 1-1/2
long screws from the
fastener package.
NOTE: The wand holder
should be mounted
against a wall stud
for extra strength.
1. The vacuum should be mounted to the
side of a wall stud for added stability. Make
sure NO electrical switches or outlets are
on the installation side of the 2x4, because
the body of the vacuum will be tight against
the stud when installed. TIP: Having the
power supply in the same cavity of the
cut-out will shorten installation time.
2. Tape the paper template #W605 (included
in packaging) against the wall at a
comfortable operating height, keeping
the exhausting air of the vacuum clear.
3. Refer to the paper template #W605 for
the cut-out.
4. Install 14 or 16 gauge (1.0mm) AWG,
300V minimum Romex cable (use wires
rated for at least 95C) from the electrical
power supply and pull the power cable
through the wall cut-out.
5. Remove the side cover plate and pull the
3 inside wires through the opening. Insert
your 120 volt power supply cable through
the Romex clamp and out through the side
opening. With 3 wire nuts connect black to
black, white to white and green to bare
ground conductor wires. Tighten the
Romex clamp. Replace the side cover.
6. Slide the unit, bottom first, into the opening
and secure with the four screws. Use 2
screws for the wood stud and 2 screws
for the 2 anchors. Do not over-tighten.

9
CONNECTING AND DISCONNECTING THE HOSE
1. Lift the inlet valve cover on the front of the door.
2. Insert the hose end (with the shorter hose cuff) into the valve with
a twist and a firm push to secure (see photo at right).
3. To remove, turn hose in either direction while pulling hose
towards you.
TIP: If you break off the hose inlet valve cover, simply reattach
it by lining up one of the small dimples located on the inside
of the inlet cover and then press hard on the other side to
click into position.
ON / OFF SWITCH
1. To start the vacuum, push the switch to the “I” position.
2. To stop the vacuum, push the switch to the “O” position.
NOTE: The lower part of the vacuum will be warm when in use.
CHANGING THE FILTRATION BAG* (see photos below)
NOTE: NEVER RUN VACUUM WITHOUT A FILTRATION BAG OR FILTERS IN PLACE
1. Open the door on the vacuum by pushing the latch upward and remove both door and bag.
2. Carry door and filtration bag to the trash container. Remove full bag and discard.
3. Place a new filtration bag all the way over the scoop (A), tight against the door (B).
4. When closing door, tuck in the top part of the bag, so the door is properly sealed and the
latch clicks into place (C).
DO NOT REUSE BAGS –the pores in the bag will clog after the bag is filled the first time.
Operating Your Vroom Garage Vac
A. Slide the collar of the
dust bag over the B. Push the cardboard collar of C. Push the top edge of the bag in-
CHANGING THE MOTOR FILTER*

Troubleshooting Tips
If the vacuum stops running due to overheating, turn the switch to the off “O” position. The
thermal protector will reset automatically in approximately one hour. Read the information
below to troubleshoot the cause.
MOTOR SUDDENLY STOPS
1. The most common cause is a clogged hose. Disconnect the hose from vacuum cleaner,
hold one end high up in the air and drop a quarter or similar object into the hose. If the
quarter gets stuck the hose is clogged. Try to unclog the hose by inserting a dry garden
hose or a broom handle to dislodge the clog.
2. The bag may be overfilled or fine dust have clogged the bag. If so, replace the filtration bag.
3. Check to make sure the cleaning tools are not clogged.
4. Vacuuming large amounts of dust other than household dirt, such as dry-wall or fine wood
dust can block the bag’s pores fast, even if the bag is new. Replacing the filtration bag
may be needed.
5. The motor filter may be dirty. If so, it should be cleaned or replaced (see page 9).
6. If the vacuum unit is installed in a tight compartment and the air cannot exhaust, the motor
can overheat and shut off until it cools down.
REMINDER: Do not reuse the filtration bag, since the pores in the bag clog after the first
use. This can cause the motor to overheat and stop.
CLEANING THE STRETCH HOSE
1. Lift the hose up on both ends and dispense liquid detergent into both ends.
2. Still holding both ends up, fill it ¾ full with water from a garden hose.
3. Shake the hose up and down until the detergent looses the dirt.
4. Stretch the hose as far as you can (requires 2 people), and wash the dirt out with the full
pressure of the garden hose. Repeat if necessary.
5. Hang the hose up, let drain and dry completely, this may take 24 hours.
NOTE: The Vroom Garage Vac includes a 40′ Stretch Hose. However, a standard 30′ Central
Vacuum hose can also be used. Please contact your local authorized dealer for more
information.
CAUTION:
DO NOT VACUUM UP LIQUIDS, LIT CIGARETTES, HOT ASHES, RAZOR BLADES,
NEEDLES, PINS OR OTHER SHARP OBJECTS.
CHANGING THE EXHAUST FILTER
1. The exhaust filter should be checked regularly.
To remove, pinch the exhaust filter in the middle
and pull out (Figure D).
2. If the filter is dirty, clean with a vacuum or wash
by hand with mild soap. Do not put in washing
machine. Let the filter dry completely before
replacing in the vacuum.
3. To replace, pinch the exhaust filter in the middle
and slide one side in first and then the other.
Make sure the filter covers the whole opening.
Figure D
NOTE: A replacement exhaust filter and motor filter are included with the 5-pack of replacement
filtration bags –order #Y08-5.
