THE CREW CUT ELITE / TOOL TIPS
PREPPING YOUR
NEW TOOL
CHARGING
The Crew Cut Elite is so easy to use – it’s as easy as moving your hand around your
head. But before you start using your new tool, you must take the time to charge it
for 3 hours before its first use. Your new tool comes with a small amount of charge,
but even if you want to use it plugged straight into the mains, the initial super charge
ensures optimum power performance to give you smooth fast cutting, every time.
- Before using for the first time, fully charge your new tool
continuously for 3 hours.
- Maximum battery capacity will only be reached after 3 charging
& discharging cycles.
- Ensure your new tool is switched off.
- Insert the small plug on the charging adaptor into the socket on
the side of your new tool.
- Plug the charging adaptor into a suitable mains power socket.
- This product has three LED lights that indicate battery capacity when charging or
discharging:
• When all three lights are illuminated blue, it indicates 100% battery capacity.
• When two lights are illuminated blue, it indicates 70% battery capacity.
• When one light is illuminated blue, it indicates 40% battery capacity.
- When the tool is about to run out of battery, the last charging indicator will flash to
indicate that you have less than 15% battery capacity remaining.
- A full charge will supply 90 minutes cordless runtime.
- A quick charge of 30 minutes will supply 15 minutes cordless runtime.
- To maintain optimum capacity of the li-ion battery, it is highly recommended to
fully discharge & then recharge your tool for 3 hours every 6 months.
- When using connected to mains power, the tool should not be used

THE CREW CUT ELITE / TOOL TIPS

for longer than 20 minutes.
-WARNING: If the charging light suddenly starts to flash rapidly (more than
3 flashes per second), the appliance is faulty. If this happens, please stop
charging and remove the adaptor from the outlet and contact our customer
care center for further advice (see the warranty section of the information
booklet).
OILING THE BLADES
To get the sharpest, more precise cut, it is highly recommended to oil the blades
before each use.
Using the oil supplied with your new tool, unscrew the cap & cut off the very
end of the plastic tube with a pair of scissors to release the oil.
Switch your tool on, gently squeeze the oil tube & apply 5 drops of oil around
the circular blades. Leave the tool on for a further few seconds to allow the oil
to thoroughly spread around the entire circumference of the blades. Switch off
the tool & remove any excess oil by gently dabbing with a cloth.
TO GET THE SHARPEST, MOST PRECISE CUT,
IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO OIL THE BLADES
BEFORE EACH USE.

THE CREW CUT ELITE / TOOL TIPS
GETTING TO KNOW
YOUR NEW TOOL
The clipper has evolved. The Crew Cut Elite has been designed in a clever
circular shape to fit in the palm of your hand for an easy ‘DIY’ hair cut.
PREPPING YOUR HAIR
To achieve your perfect short cut, longer hair needs to be pre-cut to a grade
#4 before using The Crew Cut Elite. The Crew Cut Elite is designed to maintain
an already short or crew cut look.
A NEW WAY OF CLIPPING
Just like riding a bike, new things can take some practice, and The Crew Cut Elite
is no different. The more you use it, the more comfortable you become.
This rotary clipper attachment has been designed with a unique rotary cutting
action & circular comb guide. Because of this revolutionary technology the
cutting technique differs to that of a normal clipper. In fact, this cutting
technique is much simpler.
Start cutting at the back of the head and with a sweeping motion run from
the back to the front of your head, concentrating on one area at a time until
you reach the desired length.
After a few passes of cutting over the head, you should empty any loose hairs
that have gathered at the centre of the rotary clipper attachment. This will free
up space for smoother, faster cutting. The gathered hair can easily be emptied
into a bin.
Once you’ve completed this sweeping cutting motion over your whole head, you
should then finish using circular motions, as this ensures you achieve a perfect
even finish.

THE CREW CUT ELITE / TOOL TIPS
10
HANG IN THERE!
When you first begin cutting, you may notice that some hair is being cut while
others are left long – this is perfectly normal, especially if you are cutting
longer hair. This is because hair grows in different directions & this rotary
clipper attachment is designed to be used in all directions against the hair
growth. So continue cutting in a back and forth sweeping motion until all hair is
cut to length, then the use of circular motions over the whole head will ensure
an even finish.
To finish off use the finishing trimmer attachment to trim around ears, neckline
and sideburns.
USING SLOW CIRCULAR MOTIONS OVER THE
WHOLE HEAD WILL ENSURE AN EVEN FINISH.
THE COMB GUIDE SHOULD BE LEVEL AND IN
CONTACT WITH YOUR SCALP AT ALL TIMES

HOW TO USE
THE CREW CUT ELITE
BEFORE USING
- Always inspect the rotary clipper attachment and power handle for
noticeable signs of damage.
- Always inspect the rotary clipper attachment before use to ensure the blades
are free from hair, debris etc.
- Ensure the rotary clipper attachment blades are well oiled before using.
- Ensure the power handle is sufficiently charged before use.
- For best performance use on clean, dry hair that has been combed

- If hair is long, use the scissors & comb provided to cut the hair prior
to using the tool.
- Prior to use always inspect the head for warts, moles, spots and broken skin.
If using the rotary clipper attachment on yourself either use mirrors or ask
another person to check for you.
- Special care should be taken when cutting hair in areas that have warts,
moles, spots or broken skin, to prevent injury.
- Remove any head jewellery such as earrings and necklaces before use.
The Crew Cut Elite rotary clipper attachment is for use on the head only. Never

ATTACHING THE COMB GUIDE
To attach the comb guide, make sure the power handle is switched off.
There are three grooves on the lip of the clear comb guide and a grooved recess on the
black part of the rotary clipper attachment. These grooves and recesses need to be
aligned so the comb guide sits flush.
1. While holding the rotary clipper attachment with the blades facing upwards, line up
the grooves on the clear comb guide (Fig. 1) with the recesses on the rotary clipper
attachment (located underneath the comb guide locking button) (Fig. 2).
2. Depress down and hold the comb guide locking mechanism button (Fig.3).
3. When both grooves are aligned rotate the comb guide clockwise until it sits flush with
the base of the gold section of the rotary clipper attachment (Fig.3).
4. Make sure that the comb guide locking mechanism is in the locked position and
the comb guide is securely in place before using the circular rotary clipper
attachment (Fig. 4).

TRIMMING TIPS
- Hold the trimmer with the teeth of the trimmer pointing upwards,
yet flat against the skin.
- Move through the hair, against the direction of hair growth, using only
light pressure.
- The trimmer will work most efficiently when cutting through hair at its
own speed. Never force the trimmer.
- Never switch the appliance off whilst in the hair.
OUTLINING
- Outlining the hair is a cutting technique used to define the perimeter of the
hairline, including the sideburns, ears and nape. This ads definition and
structure to the hair.
- Use the finishing trimmer attachment without a comb guide.
- Hold the trimmer upside down, gently flat against the skin.
- Move the trimmer in a downward direction.
- Having defined the outline, hold the trimmer with the teeth pointing upwards,
yet flat against the skin and move the trimmer upwards against the direction
of hair growth. This will trim the unwanted hair adjacent to the outline.
MOVE THROUGH THE HAIR, AGAINST THE
DIRECTION OF HAIR GROWTH, USING ONLY
LIGHT PRESSURE.
