Assembly and Safety Instructions
Thank you for purchasing a Warwick Whelping Box. To get the best out of
your box, please read all of these instructions carefully before you using it for
the first time, paying particular regard to the Safety Instructions below.
Safety / Care Instructions
Do
• Ensure the box is placed on a flat and level surface.
• Position the box a safe distance away from any naked flames, or any
other sources of direct heat (e.g. radiators, fires).
• Periodically / Daily check of all the fixings and re-tighten if necessary,
when the box is in use.
• Clean the whelping box regularly when it’s in use, and before you store
it away.
• Clean with clear liquid anti-bacterial spray or warm soapy water, using
a soft clean cloth, and wipe dry thoroughly. (Cream cleaner can be
used occasionally for stubborn marks, but it is not recommended for
frequent use.)
• Only use cleaners/disinfectants that are safe for animals.
Do NOT
• Apply any kind of paint to the whelping box.
• Use any kind of bleach, solvent or adhesive on the box.
• Warning If choosing to use newspaper, note when wet the ink/print will
transfer to the box which may be permanent.
Assembly Instructions
Before you begin assembly
1. Please unpack all the contents, to check that you’ve got everything you
would expect. Contents do vary slightly according to which model you’ve
chosen, but they usually include
• A base
• A rear panel (with corner posts attached)
• Two side panels
• Two front panels (each with a corner post attached)
• Three packs of nuts/bolts (labelled pack A, B, and C)
• Door section
• Optional Puppy rails, and a pack of rail fixing screws (labelled pack D)
2. Please do not use any tools to assemble your whelping box. All the major
components fit together snugly, so the nuts and bolts only need to be
tightened by hand.

3. All the major parts are labelled. Parts with matching labels should be
placed together (please see Fig.1 below). The labels are removable, but
we recommend that you keep them on until you’ve fully familiarised
yourself with the construction of the box.

4. The plastic bolts supplied are in different lengths (please see Fig.2 below).
The bolt heads may look different to those shown, but it is the length of
the bolts that is important.
Puppy rail screws (optional – type D) do not require any nuts.
When fastening parts together, the bolts should be pushed through
from the inside of the whelping box and the nuts should be screwed
on from the outside.

5. When assembling the wall panels, all panels should be placed just
inside the raised lip that runs around the base (please see Fig.3
below).

Assembly procedure
1. Place the base on the floor, with the front logo label facing up and forward.

2. Place the rear panel onto the rear side of the base, just inside the raised
lip. It will be a snug fit. Secure it to the base using nuts and bolts from pack
B. (Please note that the back panel has extra hole’s in it to allow heat pad
wires to pass through, if required.)

3. Place the side panels onto the base, and butt them up against the corner
posts of the rear panel. Fix the side panels to the corner posts with nuts
and bolts from pack A, and then secure the side panels to the base with
nuts and bolts from pack B.
4. Attach the front left and front right wall panels to the base, ensuring that
the side panels slot into the corner posts. Secure the front panels to the
corner posts with nuts and bolts from pack A, and then fix the front panels
to the base ensuring that you use the nuts and bolts from pack C.
5. Slide the door section’s into the channels on either side of the doorway.
Then slide the remaining door section’s into the doorway channels,
ensuring that the rounded edge goes uppermost. (These door sections
can be used in various combinations, if required. E.g. you may want to just
slot in one section, as that can often allow smaller dogs to get in and out
easily, whilst keeping the pups inside.)

6. If you’ve ordered the optional puppy rails, you can now fit those. The
cross-member goes parallel to the rear panel, as shown below. Pass the
rail screws (from pack D) through the wall panels into the ends of the rails,
and tighten by hand (as with all the other fixings).
Voila! Your whelping box is now complete.
