1.Mounting the Enclosure
This section will describe the process of mounting the Controller Integration enclosure in your car
wash.
The First task is to find a suitable location. The following conditions must be met:
1. Easy access to 120VAC power to provide power for the enclosure.
2. Less than 100ft ethernet cable length between the enclosure and the Washify network hub. Avoid
running the ethernet cable near equipment that causes large levels or electrical noise (Electric
Motors, Electric Pumps, Power Inverters).
3. Less than 30ft of integration wiring between the enclosure and the ICS PBS. Avoid running the
ethernet cable near equipment that causes large levels or electrical noise (Electric Motors, Electric
Pumps, Power Inverters).
After choosing a suitable location. You will need to mount the enclosure. Inside the enclosure are 4
metal stands. These stands screw into the back of the box and provide an elevation off of the wall.
They also allow you to mount the enclosure without needing to drill holes into the back of the
enclosure. Mounting screws and method of mounting is left to the discretion of the installer.

Step 1.1. Mount Metal mounting fins onto the enclosure with provided bolts

Step 1.2. Mount Box to wall using lag bolts or required hardware for wall type.

Step 1.3. Verify Mounting is flush and will not fall

2.Providing power and a network connection
Step 2.1. Locate and identify fittings for power and network cable (take note of integration wiring
fitting as it will be needed later)

Step 2.2. Run a Cat5e or Cat6 cable from the network hub to the Integration box. Do not place the
RJ45 plug on the cat cable until it has been run inside the fitting.
Remove the cap of the fitting, run the cable through the cap then into the enclosure. Leave enough
slack to be able to work comfortably crimping the RJ45 plug on the cable.

Step 2. 3. Once the cable is inside the box, screw the cap back on the fitting and tighten.

Step 2.4. Terminate the Cat cable into a RJ45 end. Make sure to follow T568B standard on both ends
of the Cat cable. You can find the standard in the image below.
Step 2.5. If a cable tester is available, test the cable to verify all pins are conducting properly.

Step 2.6. Insert the crimped RJ45 end into Port 1 on the Moxa box shown below

Step 2.7. Run power wire/cables to the enclosure from a 120VAC power source. Follow the same
instructions as step 2 and 3, but for the power fitting.

(Recap: Remove cap from fitting, insert cables through the fitting cap, then through the fitting inside
the enclosure. Leave enough slack to work comfortably. Tighten the cap over the fitting to seal the
cable/wires in place.)
Step 2.8. Insert power cables into power terminal blocks. Most AC power in the United States of
America uses the color codes for the wires as follows:

Black: Line
White: Neutral
Green: Ground

3.Wiring to 16 Keypad Push Button Station
This section will describe how to wire the integration box your ICS 16 Keypad Push Button Station
Step 3.1. Run cables from your ICS 16 Button Keypad to the washify integration enclosure.
Insert the cables into the last fitting, following the same method of ethernet and power.
(Recap: Remove cap from fitting, insert cables through the fitting cap, then through the fitting inside
the enclosure. Leave enough slack to work comfortably. Tighten the cap over the fitting to seal the
cable/wires in place.)
Recommended wire size is 20AWG, bigger wires may not fit into the adapter on the ICS Keypad side.
11 wires in total will be needed to completely integrate. The best method is to source a 12-wire
conductor 20AWG shielded Belden cable from a local supplier or online. Shielded cabling is highly
recommended as any type of EMI could trigger false positives on the keypad if the signal cabling is
run near 120VAC. If you use a shielded cable. Ground one end on the ground terminal of the
Washify relay Enclosure.
The following diagrams should be reviewed carefully; all power should be off to the ICS 16 button
Keypad and to the ICS Controller while running and connecting the cables. After connecting all
cables. Double check each connection, A wire in an incorrect position could short circuit the ICS
Keypad rendering it inoperable.
Run the Integration cabling between the ICS 16 button keypad and the Washify integration box.

Step
3.2.
Place the Jumper strip in common terminal to jump all commons. Looking at the relay terminal
strips. The middle row is the common terminals. Below the Wire holes is a slot where the terminal
jumper strip slides in. Cut off the 2 jumpers on the right side, this is being done to prevent relay 15
and 16 from having the Common terminals jumped. Please Refer to the photo with the Jumper strip
installed. This is important. If this item is not installed or is missing. It is required that all common
terminals be jumped together except for common terminals on relay 15 and 16.

************Check the next page for a photograph of the terminal strip connected************

Step 3.3.
This section will show the diagrams. The
ICS integration uses an Adapter to short
the pins on the ICS Keypad which allows
use of all the keypad buttons from
washify. This adapter is shown in the
photographs below.
The connections on the adapter will need to be completed before plugging the adapter into the ICS 16
Keypad. Keep in mind that the wires should be run through the ICS 16 Keypad enclosure already. Do not
wire the adapter while the wires have not been run into the ICS 16 Keypad enclosure.
The below diagrams show the Wiring to the Adapter, and relay board. There are a variety of
configurations depending on how the wash is to operate. Please select the proper configuration for your
car wash.

Method 1: ICS Controller Holds Queue. Washify does not handle wash queue.
Washify sends wash command to ICS and stacks Wash immediately after transaction is completed in
Washify / gate is opened.
Roller will be activated by the ICS controller VIA a tire switch / treadle, an attendant pressing the “roller”
button on the ICS 16 Keypad”, or an attendant calling a roller manually. Use this method if you will be
using a tire switch to call rollers / dollies.
Set the Mode in ICS to K for Keypad
Set the Stack setting to Y for Yes
DO NOT USE THIS METHOD IF YOU HAVE THE WATERPROOF LOADER STATION FROM WASHIFY.

The purpose of the last 2 connections that are jumps inside the integration box is to allow washify to
control the “Sale” button on ICS with 1 relay (Relay 16).
Method 2: This method will utilize the Wash Queue in the Washify software. ICS will not be in stacking
mode. This method will not work with a Tire Switch / Treadle. Use this mode if you do not wish to stack
on ICS and want to send the wash and roller with a button press on washify.
Mode in ICS must be set to K for Keypad
Stacking in the ICS settings must be N for No.
Autoroller must be set to No.
