SAFETY SYMBOLS
ELECTRICAL CONNECTION
EXTENSION CORDS
GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS
The purpose of safety symbols is to attract your attention to possible danger. The safety symbols, and the
explanations with them, deserve your careful attention and understanding. The safety warnings do not by
themselves eliminate any danger. The instructions or warnings they give are not substitutes for proper
accident prevention measures.
Use only 3-wire extension cords that have 3-prong grounding plugs and 3-pole receptacles that accept the
tool’s plug. When using a power tool at a considerable distance from the power source, use an extension
cord heavy enough to carry the current that the tool will draw. An undersized extension cord will cause a
drop in line voltage, resulting in a loss of power. Use the chart provided below to determine the minimum
wire size required in an extension cord. Only round jacketed cords listed by Underwriter’s Laboratories (UL)
should be used.
In the event of a malfunction or breakdown, grounding provides a path of least resistance for electric
current to reduce the risk of electric shock. This machine is equipped with an electric cord having an
equipment-grounding conductor and a grounding plug. The plug must be plugged into a matching
outlet that is properly installed and grounded in accordance with all local codes and ordinances.
Do not modify the plug provided. If it will not fit the outlet, have the proper outlet installed by a qualified
electrician. Improper connection of the equipment-grounding conductor can result in electrical shock.
The conductor with insulation having an outer surface that is green with or without yellow stripes is the
equipment-grounding conductor. If repair or replacement of the electric cord or plug is necessary, do not
connect the equipment-grounding conductor to a live terminal. Check with a qualified electrician or service
personnel if the grounding instructions are not completely understood, or if in doubt as to whether the tool
is properly grounded. Repair or replace a damaged or worn cord immediately.
Please check your power source prior to using the machine, and do not operate the machine on direct
current (DC).
CAUTION: Keep the cord away from the work area and position the cord so that
it will not be caught on materials, tools or other objects.
Do not expose to rain or use in damp locations.
SYMBOL MEANING

May be used in conjunction with other symbols or pictographs.

OPERATION
• Adjust the set screws on the heat block and insert the type holder. FIGURE 9
•
Plug in the machine and turn the switch on. The Green and Red temperature lights will illuminate.
• To set the temperature simply press SET, then use the arrow buttons to adjust the numbers
and press SET again to lock it in. We recommend 120 degrees Celsius for foil imprinting and
250 degrees Celsius for hot stamping. Please note that leather type and finishes can affect
end results. Always use scrap for testing and adjust the temperature if needed.
•
Wait till the red heat block temperature matches the green set temperature before use. FIGURE 10
• Pull out the work table and place work piece on top. FIGURE 11
• Push the table into the machine.
• Pull the handle down gently until it touches the work piece. We recommend keeping the
contact under 3 seconds at a time. The amount of time needed for hot stamping and foil
imprinting depends on the leather type, temperature setting and desired effect. Test your
setting and timing before proceeding. FIGURE 12
CAUTION: Take care when operating under the heat block. We recommend using heat resistant
or heat proof gloves.
WARNING: The heat block and type holder are still hot after machine is turned off.
Never touch hot parts.
WARNING: Do not operate this machine until you have read and understand all instructions and
safety rules. Failure to comply can result in accidents involving serious injury. Save this instruction
manual and review frequently for continuing safe operation.
CAUTION: Be sure to check your set up before starting the machine. The heat block will begin to
heat up when the switch is on.
CAUTION: Do not exceed 300 degrees Celsius to avoid the heating element from burning out at
high temperature.
