ELECTRICAL CONNECTION
oThe electrical connection of the actuator can be made after removing the
terminal cover.
oCheck that the voltage specified on the actuator nameplate corresponds to the
voltage of the mains.
oThe actuator is equipped as standard with simple potential-free feedback
contacts, which are suitable for a maximum load of 230V/AC and 3A, or 24V DC
and 5A.
oLead the connecting cable(s) through the gland(s) into the inside of the housing and tighten the
glands carefully.
oConnect the wires of the connecting cable(s) to the terminal strip according to the diagrams above.
oMount the terminal cover.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR ELECTRICAL CONNECTION WORK
oThe power supply must be disconnected before any intervention on the
electric actuator.
oAny intervention must be carried out only by a qualified electrician or by
personnel trained according to the rules of electrical engineering, safety and
all other applicable standards.
oIt is essential to follow the sequence of instructions for connection and commissioning described in
these instructions, otherwise proper functioning is not guaranteed.
oCheck the data on the nameplate of the actuator, they must correspond to the power supply.
oThe product must be protected by a device to interrupt the circuit (device protection fuse), which
must be adapted to its power and easily accessible.
oPlease install an additional residual current device (RCD) to operate the actuator.
oDo not connect several actuators together in series or parallel!
oGrounding is mandatory according to the applicable standard for over 42V!
COMMISSIONING
oCommissioning may only be carried out in installed condition!
oOnce the installation and connection work has been completed, the power
supply can be switched on.
oIn the basic position of switch S, the actuator should move to the "OPEN"
position (see position indicator).
Actuate switch S, the actuator should move to the "CLOSED" position.

MANUAL OVERRIDE
oManual override may only be used when the power supply is interrupted!
oThe rubber cover of the manual override may only remain open during manual
operation, as otherwise water or dust can get into the drive!
oThe actuator must never be turned into the mechanical limit with the manual
override! (only max. 90° possible!)
oOtherwise, this can lead to the destruction (seizure) of the gear unit!
PROCEDURE
oSwitch off the power supply to the drive.
oRemove the manual override key (hexagonal key) from its holder.
oOpen the rubber cover of the manual override.
oInsert the hexagonal key into the manual override.
oUsing the hexagonal wrench, turn the actuator to the desired position,
proceeding as follows:
oUse the position indicator to determine which position the actuator is in.
RED AREA
ACTUATOR CLOSED (ZU)
SHUT
YELLOW (GREEN) AREA
ACTUATOR OPEN (AUF)
OPEN
RED|YELLOW (RED|GRÜN) AREA
IN AN INTERMEDIATE POSITION BETWEEN OPEN AND CLOSED
oThe actuator can only be turned from the closed position "Shut" (red) to the
open position "Open" (yellow or green) and vice versa!
oTo open the actuator, turn the hexagonal key clockwise (to the right), see
sketch, until the position indicator completely indicates the yellow or green
range (Open).
Caution do not turn beyond the green/yellow range!
oTo close the actuator, turn the hexagon key counterclockwise (to the left), see
sketch, until the position indicator shows the red range (Shut) completely.
Caution: Do not turn beyond the red range!
oRemove the hexagonal key and place it back in its holder.
oClose the rubber cover of the manual override.

SETTING THE LIMIT SWITCHES
ATTENTION
Please note that an incorrect setting of the limit switches can lead to destruction
of the electric actuator! Larger setting angles than 90° are not possible! The limit
positions are mechanically limited! If it is nevertheless necessary to readjust the
limit switches of the actuator, please proceed as follows:
oSwitch off the power supply to the actuator.
oTurn the actuator with the manual override to the "closed" position of your valve.
oOpen the upper cover with the position indicator by loosening the 4 screws.
oAdjust the desired position by turning the cam D1 with the set screw "CLOSED" (red) clockwise until
it audibly actuates the limit switches K1 and K2 (Fig.1).
oNow turn the actuator completely to the "OPEN" position using the manual override.
oAdjust the "OPEN" position by turning the cam D2 with the "OPEN" set screw (green)
counterclockwise until it audibly actuates the limit switches K3 and K4 (Fig.1).
oMake absolutely sure that the limit switches are actuated before the mechanical limitation (see
next chapter)!
oMount the cover of the position indicator and test the actuator.

ADJUSTMENT OF THE MECHANICAL STOP
ATTENTION
Please be sure to note that an incorrect setting of the mechanical stop can lead
to destruction of the electric actuator! If the motor is blocked by mechanical
limitation, this can lead to the destruction of the actuator!
oDisconnect the power supply at the actuator!
oLoosen the 4 screws on the cover of the position indicator and remove it.
oTurn the actuator completely to the "CLOSED" position using the manual override until the
"CLOSED" limit switch is audibly actuated.
oLoosen the locking nut of the mechanical stop for the "CLOSED" position. (Fig. 2).
oTurn the adjusting screw for the "CLOSED" position in with an Allen key until it meets the
mechanical stop.
oThen turn it back half a turn.
oThe mechanical stop should be approx. 2.5° more than the electrical limit switch.
oFix the locking nut for the "closed" position.
oFor the adjustment of the "open" position, please proceed analogously.
oPlease check again whether the settings you have made correspond to those in Fig. 3.
oMount the cover of the position indicator.
