Selecting a Cycle
Dryer cycles are designed for the proper drying of different kinds of
fabrics. This dryer has 3 cycles:
REGULAR HEAVY-The heat is off
during the last 5 minutes of tum-
bling. The load is cooled down for
more comfortable handling.
PERMANENT PRESS -The heat is off
during the last IU minutes of tumbling
to help keep wrinkles from setting in.
Clothing wrinkled from packing in
suitcases or closets can be smoothed
out by tumbling them in this cycle for
about 20 minutes.
AIR - No heat. This cycle is useful
when drying heat-sensitive items or
when fluffing pillows and bedding
or dusting sheers and curtains.

Drying times
Drying times will vary depending on:
l
amount
of moisture in the clothes.
l type and weight of the fabric.
l size of the load.
l room temperature around the dryer.
l voltage used. See page 9 of this
book for voltage information.
See your “Dryer Guide”
for more information.
DO NOT OVERDRY.
Overdrying
can cause shrinkage, static
cling, and can damage some
fabrics.
Mixed loads
When drying a load with different
kinds and weights of fabrics, use the
cycle suggested forthe lightest fab-
rics. When the dryer stops, remove
dry items and reset the control.
To help reduce wrinkling, take
the load from the dryer
as soon
as tumbling stops.
This is very
important for permanent press,
knits and other synthetic
fabrics.
.
Suggested load sizes
Use these load size recommendations for your compact dryer.
Do not use the load sizes for larger capacity dryers that are listed
in the “Dryer Guide:’

End-of-cycle signal
The dryer sounds a signal to let you know
when the cycle is finished. The signal cannot be
turned off and is not adjustable.
The signal is helpful when you are drying
permanent press, synthetics and other items
that should be taken out as soon as the dryer
stops.

drum, on the
back wall. Clean
it before each

Cleaning dryer interior
Garments which contain unstable dyes,
such as denim blue jeans or bright-
ly colored cotton items, may discolor
the dryer interior. If the interior
is discolored, clean with one of the
following methods to avoid staining
later load items,
Powdered laundry detergent and

very warm water. Apply paste to
a soft cloth and scrub area until all

Optional Installation Accessories
The WINDOW EXHAUST KIT(Part
No. LCK 3000) is a convenient
way
to exhaust your dryer through a
window.
An EXHAUST DEFLECTOR (Part No.
LCK 4000) moves dryer exhaust to
the side or up or down.
The dryer can be mounted on a wall
with the DRYER WALL MOUNT KIT (Part
No. LCK 2OOl- FOR ELECTRIC DRYERS
E). The wall must be strong
enough to support the weight. Not to
be used in mobile homes. This allows
you to have an eye level dryer with
floor space beneath for a washer.
The dryer can be mounted on a
stand at eye level with the STACK
RACK KIT (Part No. LCKIIOO). A com-
pact washer can be permanently
installed and operated under the
dryer.
Another STACK RACK KIT [Part
No. LCKIOOO) is available for
washers that will only be stored
under the dryer.
If you need service or assistance,
we suggest you follow these five steps:
L Before calling for
assistance...
Performance problems often result
from little things you can find and fix
yourself without tools of any kind.
IF YOUR DRYER DOES NOT RUN:
l
Is the power supply cord plugged
into a live circuit with the proper volt-
age?
l
Is the door closed tightly?
l
Do you push the STARTButton?
l
Have you checked your home’s
main fuses or circuit breaker box?
IF YOUR DRYER DOES NOT HEAT:
l
The AIR setting is without heat.
l
The last minutes of heat settings are
without heat.
10
l
Is the gas turned on? If not, turn the
Control Knob to OFF. Turn on gas.
Wait 5 minutes. Reset controls and
start.
l
An electric dryer uses a circuit
breaker or 2 fuses. If one fuse is
blown, the dryer may run, but not
heat.
IF DRYING TIME SEEMS LONG:
Squeeze body;
pull cover off.
l
Is the lint screen clean? See page 7
of this book for cleaning instructions.
l
