Read this “Use and Care Guide”
and your “Dryer Guide” carefully for
important use and safety information.
You are personally responsible for
making sure that your dryer...
l is installed by a qualified installer.
l IS properly maintained.
l is installed in an area protected
from the weather.
l is properly installed and leveled in
a well ventilated room* on a floor
that can support the weight.
l is located in an area where the tem-
perature is above 45 F (7.2 Cl.

Turn Touch FABRIC-TEMP
. power on 2. Selector
Move the POWER SWITCH up.
You will have 8 seconds to touch
a FABRIC-TEMP Selector.
Within 8 seconds, touch the lower
part of a FABRIC-TEMP Selector. The
dryer will not operate if you touch the
upper half of the selector.
You may change the dryer setting
at any time during any cycle by
touching the desired selector or
selectors.
Touch a CUSTOM DRY
3. or TIMED DRY Control
l To stop the dryer
1. Open the door, or...
2. Move POWER SWITCH to OFF.
IMPORTANT: If you do not touch a
CUSTOM DRY or TIMED DRY Control,
the dryer will automatically select
NORMAL DRY.
If this is not the dryness you like,
you must touch one of the other
dryness Controls. See page 6 of this
book for more details.

l To check the load
1. Open door.
2. The dryer will remember where it
was in the cycle if you restart the
dryer within 2 minutes. Touch
selector with the blinking light to
restart.

Operating instructions
TheCUSTOM DRYcontrols IMPORTANT: If a finished load is
not as dry as you like:
After touching a FABRIC-TEMP
Selector, touch a CUSTOM DRY
Control selection that describes the
dryness You prefer for Your load.
A sensor on the back the dryer
drum “feels” the amount of moisture
in the load. When the dryness You
have selected is reached, the
dryer automatically shuts off.
You may need to try different
dryness settings to find the one
you like.
SUGGESTIONS
l For the first few loads, use NORMAL
DRY. When finished, check to see if
the load is as dry as You want.
l If the load is not as dry as You like,
use MORE DRY or VERY DRY the next
time.
l If the load is too dry, use LESSDRY
the next time. Use DAMP DRY if You
plan to iron the clothes when You
remove them from the dryer.
l Use a TIMED DRY setting for bed-
spreads, quilts, blankets and other
bulky loads. Start with 60 minutes.
1. Clear dryer memory by
moving the POWER SWITCH to
OFF then back to ON.
2. Touch the FABRIC-TEMP
Selector for the load type.
3. Touch the 20 minute TIMED DRY
Control.
4. Remember to select a
different dryness setting for
the next similar load.
Cool down times
In all cycles. the heat shuts off
before the dryer stops tumbling. This
cool down time helps:
l keep wrinkles from setting in.
0 make handling the hot load items
easier.
TIMED DRY Control
After touching a FABRIC-TEMP
Selector, touch a TIMED DRY Control
setting for any load You want to dry
by time. Touch the number or min-
utes You want: 20,30,40,60, or 80.
This setting is good for very small
loads or large, bulky items.
Note the cool down times in each
cycle.

FINISH GUARD takes
over automatically
finish
when the cycle is
guard
completed.
It tumbles the load, without heat,
every 5 minutes for up to 2’12hours.
This rearranges and fluffs the load to
help prevent wrinkles that set in
when a load remains in a warm dryer.
The indicator light will stay on as
long as FINISH GUARD is tumbling the
load. Remember that FINISH GUARD
is selected automatically every
time you use the dryer.

minutes of tumbling

If you do not want FINISH GUARD
you must cancel it by touching it. The
TUMBLE PRESS Control
This setting is useful for
removing wrrnkles from
items packed in suit-
cases or closets.
This setting can be used to fluff
bedding, pillows and clothing or to
dust drapes. It can also be used
to damp-dry heat sensitive items..
such as plastic shower curtains,
rubber-backed rugs, plastic table-
cloths, foam rubber pillows, stuffed
toys. sneakers, etc.
TUMBLE PRESS gives you 15 mrnutes
of tumbling at the medium fabric
temperature and 5 more minutes of
tumbling without heat. FINISH
GUARD is automatically selected
with this cycle.
For best results, TUMBLE PRESS only
a few items at a time. Put them on
hangers or fold them as soon as the
dryer stops.
If you want more than 20 minutes
of tumbling, touch the FLUFF AIR and
the TIMED DRY Control for the
amount of time you want [up to 80
minutes).

Drying times Mixed loads
Drying times will vary depending on:
l amount of moisture in the clothes.
l type and weight of the fabric.
l size of the load.
l room temperature around the
dryer.
l temperature of the wash rinse
water.
l amount of lint In the lint screen.
l dryer temperature selection.
See page 6 in your “Dryer Guide”
for more information.
When drying a load with different
kinds and weights of fabrics, use the
setting suggested for the lightest
fabrics.
End-of-cycle signal The dryer will beep 5 times to let you know
when the cycle is finished. It will also beep after
each FINISH GUARD tumbling. The signal cannot
be turned off and is not adjustable.
The signal is helpful when you are drying per-
manent press, synthetics and other items that
should be taken out as soon as the dryer stops.

Lint signal
Clean lint screen before each load. If you
neglect to clean your lint screen, the signal will
sound. The (whistle tone] signal lets you know
the air flow is being restricted. Restricted air flow
reduces drying efficiency.
Turn off the dryer and clean the lint screen as
shown on page 10.

Using the drying rack
The drying rack lets you dry items that you may not want to tumble; for
example, sneakers, stuffed toys, knitted wool, etc.
The rack does not move, but the drum turns. Make sure nothing hangs
over the edges of the rack.
1. Fit rear legs of the rack into indents
in back wall of dryer.
2. Lower the front so legs rest on dryer
opening.
3. Put wet items on top of the rack.
leave space between them so air
can reach all surfaces.
4. Close the door; touch a TIMED DRY
Control selection.
Control selection
Drying time will depend on how much moisture the items hold. The following
chart suggests temperature settings for different kinds of items that might best be
rack dried.

Be sure to take the rack out for normal tumble drying.

Lint screen
Open the lid and pull the lint screen
straight out.
Clean the lint screen before each load. A screen blocked by lint can
increase drying time and may be a F
ROLL the lint off the screen
with your fingers.
DO NOT rinse or wash the screen.
Push the screen firmly back into
place.

Lint removal
Lint can gather inside the dryer and create a fire hazard.This lint
should be removed every 2 to 3 years, or more often, depending on
dryer usage.
ELECTRIC DRYERS GAS DRYERS
Cleaning should be done only by a qualified person.
l Avoid electrical shock
hazard-unplug power
supply cord or turn off
electrical power.
’ Avoid injury or damage - do not
put hands inside cabinet.
l Make sure dryer is cool.
1. Remove back panel (electric)
or lower access panel [gas).
2. Avoid damaging wires,
thermostats, funnel or igniter.
3. Remove lint from shaded area -
see art- with a soft brush or
vacuum cleaner.
4. Replace panel: reconnect and
re-level dryer
