Note: Read these instructions carefully before you start using the
device.
Intended use
The device is intended to improve the ability of hearing impaired
people to conduct mobile phone conversations while using their
hearing aids, to improve the usability and ease of control of such
hearing aids by equipping them with a Smartphone-based con-
trol method.
Note: The device uses Bluetooth standard which is common in
newer mobile phones.

How to pair the device with your phone
To pair your device with your phone for the first time, follow these
steps:

Startthepairingprocessaccordingtotheinstructionsinyour
phone’suserguide
YourphonewillshowalistofBluetoothdevices
SelectCOM-DEXfromthelist
Once you have paired the device, it will remain so even when you
disconnect the neck loop.

Note: If you are in a particularly noisy environment or if you
need to increase the volume to a higher level than normal while
streaming sound to your hearing aids, keep the Room Off button
pressed for 5 seconds. To return to your normal sound level, press
the Room Off button again and keep it pressed for 5 seconds.
You can download the COM-DEX app from the App Store or
Google Play. This app allows you to use your phone as a remote
control.

MAINTENANCE
• Clean with a damp cloth. Do not use chemicals.
• Do not expose to extreme temperatures or high humidity.
• Do not immerse in liquids.
• When the device is not in use keep it in a dry location out of
reach of children and pets.
• Never try to open or repair the device yourself. This may only
be done by authorised personnel.
INFORMATION ABOUT EMISSION
Emission levels from Widex devices are several times lower than
the levels transmitted by mobile phones and other communica-
tions equipment.

WARNING
• Do not use the device in mines or other areas with explosive gases.
• When the device is connected via micro USB cable to external mains-
operated equipment such as a charger, PC, audio source or similar, this
equipment must comply with IEC 60065, IEC 60950-1, IEC 60601-1 or
equivalent safety standards.

Let op: lees deze instructies nauwkeurig voordat u het apparaat
gaat gebruiken.
Bedoeld gebruik
Het apparaat moet slechthorenden beter in staat stellen om
mobiele telefoongesprekken te voeren terwijl zij hun hoortoestel-
len gebruiken en wel door de bruikbaarheid en het bedieningsge-
mak van die hoortoestellen te verbeteren door deze te voorzien
van een bedieningsmethode via de smartphone.
Let op: het apparaat maakt gebruik van de Bluetooth-standaard
die gangbaar is voor nieuwere mobiele telefoontoestellen.

Volume aanpassen tijdens gebruik

Let op: als u in een bijzonder lawaaierige omgeving bent of als u
het volume meer wilt verhogen dan normaal terwijl u geluid naar
uw hoortoestellen streamt, houdt u de Geluiddempknop 5 secon-
den ingedrukt. Om naar uw normale geluidsniveau terug te gaan,
drukt u nogmaals op de Geluiddempknop en houdt u deze 5 secon-
den ingedrukt.
U kunt de COM-DEX-app downloaden in de App Store of via
Google Play. Met deze app kunt u de telefoon als afstandsbedie-
ning gebruiken.

ONDERHOUD
• Reinig met een vochtige doek. Gebruik geen chemicaliën.
• Niet blootstellen aan extreme temperaturen of hoge luchtvoch-
tigheid.
• Niet onderdompelen in vloeistoffen.
• Wanneer het apparaat niet in gebruik is, bewaar het dan op een
droge locatie en buiten het bereik van kinderen en huisdieren.
• Probeer nooit zelf het apparaat te openen of te repareren. Dit
mag uitsluitend worden gedaan door bevoegd personeel.
INFORMATIE OVER EMISSIES
De emissieniveaus van Widex-apparaten zijn enkele malen lager
dan de niveaus van mobiele telefoons en andere communicatie-
apparatuur.
