INDUSTRIAL CLEANER MODEL SN 2000-U
The industrial cleaner model SN 2000- U is a suction apparatus provided with a powerful,
three-stage blower which is characterised by a high filter performance and simplicity of
operation. The three-stage blower is driven bya 2.2 kW, three-phase current motor, de-
signed for long-term operation. A particular characteristic of the un it is the accomodation
of the power unit and the filter system within a minimum of space, and the optional use of
exchangeable collecting containers or of throw-away paper collecting begs (dust-free empty-
ing) •
Fields of application
The industrial cleaner model SN 2oo0-U :s, in consequence of its filter system, predomi-
nantly suitable for the pick-up of fine dusts, solid bulk material, granulates and turnings,
chips, etc. Using the container provided with the unit, up to a maximum of 30 litres of
liquids can also be picked up.
Before taking into operation, check:
1. that the voltage of the main supply agrees with that shown on the apparatus as operating
voltage. The appropriate voltage is found on the name plate.
2. If the unit is not provided with a phase-sequence relay (direction of rotation switch), the
direction of rotation must be checked at the in itia I switching on and whenever connection
is made with a new power supply outlet •
The correct direction of rotation can be determined through the open ing in the side
panelling, and must correspond with the direction indicated by the arrow. If the di-
rection of rotation does not correspond with the direction indicated by the arrow, the
plug of the apparatus or the power supply outlet should be re-wired accordingly.
Incorrect direction of rotation leads to a considerable loss of power and can cause the
motor to burn out, and also damage the blower.
For this reason, we would recommend ensuring that all the power supply outlets in the
factory are uniformly wired.

Filter s.l.stem
The filter system comprises:
a maintenance-free mechanical pre-separator (Part No. 150-120), which virtually comple-
tely separates the suctioned particles from the airstream, and directs them immediately into
the collecting container (Part No. 200- 048), or paper collecting OOg(Part No. 250-061),
a paper collecting OOg(Part No. 250-061) for the storage of the picked up dust particles
and which, at the same time, does service as an additional filter,
an exchangeable cloth filter (Part No. 250-030).
Equipment
A standard item of the apparatus is an interchangeable collecting container having a capa-
city of 60 litres, an interchangeable cloth filter, a throw-away paper collecting OOg, a
perforated PVC OOg, an insertion ring for the paper collecting OOgand a rubber cap.
Function and operation
Depending upon the material to be removed, either the metal interchangeable collecting
conta iner or the paper collecting OOg(strengthened with aperforated PVC OOg), can be
used as a recipient for the suctioned material.
In order to remove the interchangeable collecting container, the paper collecting OOgor the
cloth filter, the locking device (Part No. 150-017) is opened, and the mechanical pre-separa-
tor tilted OOckwards.

1. Suctioning into the exchangeable collecting container
The interchangeable collecting container is used for the removal of turnings, chips,
liquids and granulates.
The picked up particles are led directly into the interchangeable collecting container,
with the exception of apart of the floating particles. These floating particles are caught
by the exchangeable cloth filter. When the material to be removed by suction contains
fine dusts, it is recommended tOOt the paper bog be inserted into the cloth filter. In this
way, a cleaning of the cloth filter is not necessary and a complete filtering out of the
fine dust is achieved.
Insertion of the paper collecting bog:
1. 1 Interchangeable collecting conta iner (Part No. 200-048) is removed.
1.2 The paper collecting bog (Part No. 250-(61) is inserted into the cloth filter in
such a way that it comes into contact with the cloth filter (Part No. 250-030) over
its entire surface area. The folds that result during the process are smoothed out by
hand.
1.3 The paper collecting bog (Part No. 250-(61) is folded over the edge of the mein fil-
ter housing, the interchangeable collecting container (Part No. 250-048) is inserted
and the mechanical pre-separator (Part No. 150-120) is closed.
When suctioning is carried out with inserted paper collecting bog and collecting container,
the paper collecting bog is replaced bya new and clean one as soon as the suction power
begins to fa II off.
If suctioning is carried out without an inserted paper collecting bag, the suspended cloth
filter must be cleaned when the suction power falls off.

For the removal of chips and turnings, liquids
and coarse dust, the apparatus is operated
with the immersion tube open - that is, with-
out a fitted rubber cap - and with inserted
interchangeable collecting conta iner . On Iy
in Jhe event that fine dust is to be removed
at the same time, is the illustrated paper
collecting bog also inserted. This bog pro-
tects the cloth filter from contamination .

2. Suctioning into the paper collecting bog
The paper collecting bogs are used for the suctioning of fine dust and bulk material.
The disposable collecting bogs make possible the dust-free emptying.
In order to be able to suck the fine dust directly - without ~he interchangeable collecting
container - into the paper collecting bog, the collecting container must be removed, the
rubber cap (Part No. 150-029) fitted to the immersion tube and the insertion ring (Part
No. 250-(66) paced into position.
The following measures must be carried out:
2.1 The rubber cap (Part No. 150-029) is fitted to the immersion tube of the mechanical
preseparator.
2.2 The paper collecting bog (Part No. 250-(61) is inserted into the cloth filter (Part
No. 250-030) in such a way tOOt it is in contact with the cloth filter over its entire
surface area. Any folds formed during this process are smoothed out by hand.
2.3 The paper filter bag (Part No. 250-061) is inserted through the insert ring (Part
No. 250-(66) and folded over the edge of the main filter housing.

2.4 The mecOOnical preseparator is tilted bockwards.
2.5 The paper filter bog is closed.
2.6 The insertion ring is removed.
2.7 The paper filter and collecting bog, together with the cloth filter, is removed.
2.8 The paper collecting bog is removed from the cloth filter.
In order to ensure that the paper filter and collecting bog is not torn during its removal,
we would recommend placing the paper collecting bog in a perforated plastic bog (Part
No. 250-(69) which provides the paper bog with the necessary mechanical strength.

For the suctioning of fine dust, which is to be emptied packed and thus
dust-free, the rubber cap is fitted to the immersion tube and the insertion
ring positioned in the housing in place of the collecting conta iner.
With small amounts of dust, or small weight, the paper collecting OOg can
be inserted directly. For large quantities or considerable weight of dust,
tearing of the paper collecting OOg is avoided by using a perforated PVC
bag. This plastic OOg is inserted first and the paper collecting OOg is
inserted into it. On removal, the paper collecting OOg is closed by folding
inwC?rds, and removed together with tpe PVC OOg. This latter can be used

3. Connection for hose
The 50 mm suction hose of the apparotus is fixed to the suction connection and is held
in place byan inserted rubber ring (O-ring, Part No. 500-005). The suction hose
can be fitted and removed easily by employing a rotating movement. It cannot be fitted
or removed by simply pressing home or pulling. The rubber ring (O-Ring) in the suction
connection must be replaced if damaged after lengthy use.
With the aid of the coupling piece No. 32/50 (see list of accessories), two or more
suction hoses can be coupled together.
Maintenance of the ae....e.aratus
a) The mechanical preseparotor (Part No. 150-120) must be checked from time to time
for deposits and cleaned.
b) The cloth filter (Part No. 250-030) must be cleaned when dirty and tested for possible
leakage.
c) The gaskets should be checked at regular intervals to see that they are still undamaged.
Damaged gaskets must be replaced.
