Introduction
Thank you for purchasing this quality product. To minimize the risk of injury by means of fire or
electric shock we urge that our clients take some basic safety precautions when using this
device. Please read the operation instructions carefully and make sure you have understood its
content.
Always use a grounded power connection with the appropriate mains voltage. You can find the corre-
sponding mains voltage on the type plate. If you have any doubts about the connection being ground-
ed, have it checked by a qualified professional. Never use a faulty electric cable.
Do not inspect the electrical part of the pressure pond filter in a wet or damp environment or when you
are wet yourself and protect it from direct sunlight. Install this device in a safe location so that nobody
can step on the cable, fall over or damage it. Disconnect the power plug before cleaning it and use
only a damp cloth for cleaning. Avoid using cleaning agents and make sure that no liquid enters the
electrical part of the pump.
The electric part of the device contains no parts that can be inspected or serviced by the user. Leave
the maintenance, adjustment and repair to qualified technical personnel. In case of unauthorised inter-
vention the 2-year warranty is no longer valid! Keep these operation instructions safe.

GENERAL POWER TOOL SAFETY WARNINGS
WARNING
Read all safety warnings and all instructions. Failure to follow the warnings and instructions may
result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.
Save all warnings and instructions for future reference. The term “power tool” in the warnings
refers to your mains-operated (corded) power tool or battery-operated (cordless) power tool.
WORK AREA
•Keep your work area clean and well lit. Cluttered benches and dark areas lead to accidents.
•Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as the presence of flammable
liquids, gases or dust. Power tools create sparks which might ignite dust or fumes.
•Keep bystanders, children and visitors away while operating the tool. Distractions can cause
you to lose control.

ELECTRICAL SAFETY
•Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plugs in any way. Do not use any
adapter plugs with earthed power tools. Unmodified plugs and matching outlets will reduce
risk of electric shock. Do not change the plug in any way. Double insulation eliminates the need
for the three wire grounded power cord and grounded power supply system.
•Avoid body contract with grounded surfaces such as pipes, radiators, ranges and refrigera-
tors. These are an increased risk of electric shock if your body is grounded.
•Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool will increase
the risk of electric shock.
•Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord to carry the tool or pull the plug from an outlet.
Keep the cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts. Replace damaged cords
immediately. Damaged cords increase the risk of electric shock.
•When operating a power tool outside, use an outdoor extension cord. These cords are rated
for outdoor use and reduce the risk of electric shocks.
•If operating a power tool in a damp location is unavoidable, use a residual current device
(RCD) protected supply. Use of an RCD reduces the risk of electric shock.
PERSONAL SAFETY
•Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a power tool.
Do not use tool while tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment
of inattention while operating power tools may result in serious personal injury.
•Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Contain long hair. Keep your hair,
clothing and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewelry or long hair can be caught in
moving parts.
•Avoid accidental starting. Be sure switch is off before plugging in. Carrying tools with your
finger on the switch or plugging in tools that have the switch turned on may lead to accidents.
•Remove adjusting keys or wrenches before turning the tool on. A wrench or a key that is left
attached to a rotating part of the tool may result in personal injury.
•Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. Proper footing and balance
enables better control of the tool in unexpected situations.
•Use safety equipment. Always wear eye protection. Dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard
hat or hearing protection must be used for appropriate conditions. Ordinary eye or sun glasses are
NOT eye protection.
•If devices are provided for the connection of dust extraction and collection facilities ensure
that these are connected and properly used. Use of dust collection can reduce dust-related
hazards.

TOOLS USE AND CARE
•Do not force tool. Use the correct tool for your application. The correct tool for the right job
will work better and safer at the rate which it was designed for.
•Do not use the tool if the switch does not work properly. Any tool that cannot be controlled
with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired.
•Disconnect the plug from the power source before making any adjustments, changing ac-
cessories or storing the tool. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the
tool accidentally.
•Store idle tools out of reach of children and other untrained persons. Tools are dangerous in
the hands of untrained users.
•Maintain tools with care. Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained tools with
sharp cutting edges are less likely to bind and are easier to control.
•Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges
are less likely to bind and are easier to control.
•Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits etc. in accordance with these instructions
taking the working conditions into account such as the work to be performed. Use of the
power tool for operations different from those intended could result in a hazardous situation.
SERVICE
•Have your power tool serviced by a qualified person from an authorized service partner
using only original and identical parts. This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is main-
tained.

ADDITIONAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR ELECTRIC POWERFILE
WARNING
Safety instructions for all future operations: Hold power tool by unsulated gripping surfaces,
because the belt may contact its own cord. Cutting a “live” wire may make exposed metal parts
of the power tool “live” and could cause an electric shock.
Preferably wear a dust mask whenever sanding. Thoroughly remove all dust after sanding. Take spe-
cial care when sanding paint is possibly lead based or when sanding some woods and metal which
may produce toxic dust.
•Wear a dust mask specifically designed for protection against lead paint dust and ensure that per-
sons within or entering the work area are also protected.
•Do not let children or pregnant women enter the working area.
•Do not eat, drink or smoke within the work area.
•Dispose dust particles and any other debris safely.
•Before using the tool on wooden work pieces preferably fit the dust bag.
•Before using the tool on metal work pieces or work pieces containing metal make sure to remove
the dust bag.
•Wear gloves when working with metal work pieces.
•It is recommended that the tool always should be supplied by a residual current device with a rat-
ed residual current of 30 mA or less.

•Always sand with the grain of the wood.
•The work piece needs to be suitably supported or clamped.
•When sanding new layers of paint before applying another layer, use extra fine grit.

MAINTENANCE
WARNING: Before cleaning or performing maintenance the power supply must be
disconnected from the tool. All maintenance should only be carried out by the manu-
facturer or authorized service organization.
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaces by a specially prepared cord repairable by an au-
thorized service agent to avoid a safety hazard.
CARBON BRUSHES
The brush and commutator of the tool shall be examined for several months. Their good contact
makes the tool energetically. When the spark around the commutator gets bigger the carbon brush
should be changed.
CLEANING
WARNING: Before cleaning or performing maintenance the power supply must be
disconnected from the tool. Compressed dry air blow may be the most effective clean-
ing method. Always wear safety goggles
when cleaning tools with compressed air.
Ventilation openings and switch levers must be
kept clean. Do not attempt to clean by inserting
pointed objects through openings. No chemical
agent is allowed to be used in cleaning the power
tool.
