IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
When using battery powered machines, basic precautions should always be followed,includingthe following:

Leadacid batterieshavea number of inherentdangers, carefully readthe
instructions andwarnings which accompanythe batteriesand batterycharger.
REMEMBER:

batteries.
Do not smoke aroundthe batteries. Avoid skin contactwith the acidcon -
tained inthe batteries. Always wear eye protectionand protectiveclothing
when working on

batterytops.

BAlTERYARRANGEMENT
Battery Maintenance:
1 .) When cleaningbatteries use a solutionof baking
sodaandwater. (Do not allow cleaningfluidto enter
inside batterycells.)
2.) Keepa properelectrolytelevelinbatterycells.
3.) Wipe downthe batterytops at least once a
week.
If a cell shouldaccidently overflow, clean
immediately.
4.) Test batteryconditionwith a hydrometerat least
once as week.
5.) Ensurethat allconnectionsare tight andthat all
corrosionis removed.
6.) Every
4 to 6 months remove batteriesfrom the
machineandcleanthe batterycompartment.

Battery Charging Procedure:
Always chargethe batteries beforeoperating.
The machinewill runfor hourson fully charged,
well maintainedbatteries.
WARNING:
DO NOT SMOKE, HAVE OPENFLAMES, OR
SPARKS NEAR BATTERIESAT ANY TIME.
WEAR EYE PROTECTIONAND PROTECTIVE
CLOTHINGWHEN WORKINGWITH BATTERIES.
CHARGEBAllERlESIN
A WELL VENTILATED
AREA WITH THE HOODOPEN.
1 .) Use a 36 volt, 20 amp maximumoutput, D.C.
charger which turns itself off, when the batteries are
fully charged. The charger must have a connector
that matchesthe machines batteryconnection.
2.) Readthe instructionsandwarnings providedby
the batterycharger manufacturer.
3.) Setthe charger inawell ventilatedareaon a lev -
el surface. Makesure cords will easily reach outlets
on bothmachineandwall.
4.) Connect charger to D.C. outlet on machine
first.
5.) Connectthe A.C. power cordto properly
groundedwallsocket.
NEVER MAKETHE A.C.
CONNECTION FIRST, HAZARDOUSSPARKS MAY
RESULT.
6.) After the batteries are completely chargeddiscon -
nectthe charger fromthe A.C. wall socket.
7.) Oncethe charger isdisconnectedfrom the A.C.
wall socket it is safe to disconnectthecharger from
the machine. /Battery
8.) Whenthe batteries k* Cap
are fully charged, checkthe
electrolyte levelby removing
the caps ontop of the
batteries.

1 .) Pressdown on the solutiontank door
until
it locks in place.
2.) Use a clean bucketto fill the tank with
hotwater.
CAUTION :
Do notusewatertemperatures in excess
of
150" F (65" C). Water which istoo hot
may distort the polyethylenetanks.
3.) Add a cleaning concentratefor use in
automatic floor scrubbers. Closely
followthe manufacturesinstructions
found on container. Read ingredients
listedonthe containerto ensurecom

patiblechemicalsareused. The PT28
solutiontank capacity is 21 gallons
(79 liters). The PT34 solution tank
capacity is25 gallons (95liters).

below. Using incompatible chemicals

1.)
Pressdown on squeegee lift lever to
release
it from groove.

1.) Pressdown on the scrubdeck lift
lever and lock into bottomgroove,
raisingthe scrubdeck.
CAUTION:
Runningthe brusheswith the scrub
deck loweredwithout movingthe
machinemay damage the
floor.

Turn on the brush motors.
3.)
The brushswitchwill be lit when the
brush motors are running.
4.)
Slowly releasescrubdeck liftlever
loweringbrushesto the floor.
Releasebrakeswitch
1.)
When the brakeswitch is lit the
machinewill not move.
2.)
To release,or set the brake, press
down on the brake switch.
Begincleaning
1.)
Set speed using speed control.
2.)
To go forward, press down on the
drive handle.
To stop, release handle.
To go in reverse,
lift uponthe handle.

Dailv Maintenance;
BeforeStartingWork Period
1.)
Checkwater levelin batteries. Add
distilledwater as needed (see pg
2).
2.) Check vac motor and floatfor proper
seal. Set vac motor and float back in
place. Reconnectvac motor.
3.) Check vac hoseconnection at
squeegee shoe.
4.) Cleansqueegee blades and check
for wear.
End
of Work PeriodBeforeStoring
1.) Drainbothtanks and rinseclean.
2.) Lift out vac motor and float
assembliesto allow recoverytank
to dry.
3.) Removebrush or paddriver. Hangor
set upsidedown in a dry place.
4.) Wipe down the exterior of the
machinewith a damp cloth.
5.) Raisesqueegee assemblyto “store”
position.
6.) Charge batteries (see page 2).
Weewtenance;
Use a hydrometerto check the
conditionof each battery
cell.
Check battery cable clamps. Ensure
clamps are tight on battery terminals.
Cleantops of batterieswith
a wet
cloth and a solution of water and
baking soda. Wipe battery tops dry
after cleaning.
Check brush lockinglugs for
looseness or damage.
Check solutionstrainer. Remove
cap
and screen and rinseclean.
Ensurethat the chain, pivot points,
and casters are properlylubricated.
Tighten any loosescrews or nuts.
4 to 6 Month Maintenance;
Removebatteries
- clean battery tray
and battery compartment.
Clean batterycable clamps and
batteryterminals.
Removethe lowerfront cover and
check the drive chain tension.
Tighten, clean and lubricate
if necessary.
Checkcarbon motor brushes
in the
Vac, Drive, and Brush motors.
Use
a vacuum to removelint or dust
build
- upfrom motor windings.
Inspectthe solution cable travel.
Clean and lubricate
if necessary.
The following symbols foundthroughout
the manual indicate items requiring
lubrication:

2.) Cleanthe Vac shut - off (item 8) atthe

carbon brushes (item
2). Replacecarbon
brusheswhich are
less than 3/8 long.

Brush Installation: Brush Removal:
