Congratulations on your purchase of the WINDSOS DRIVE parachute.
The “Rogallo” type design of this parachute will allow you to have a quick opening
parachute, an excellent fall rate and above all the possibility of choosing the landing
point.
Manufactured in the best materials on the market, it has some innovative solutions to
improve its performance and resistance, which makes us feel proud of our work.

The WINDSOS DRIVE is a "Rogallo" type parachute conceived as a safety system for
paragliding pilots who are in an emergency and never for the practice of free fall, base
jump or take off on the slope.
We must make it clear that, to fly paragliding; It is necessary to have passed an initia-
tion course and have assimilated the concepts of flight.
The paragliding flight involves a risk, either due to the pilot's own recklessness or due
to adverse weather conditions, which in the worst case can cause accidents or that we
have to use our WINDSOS DRIVE emergency system.
Windtech is not responsible, in any way, for losses or injuries, derived directly or indi-
rectly from the use or misuse of its products.

The WINDSOS DRIVE has been certified according to the EN12491 standard.
Therefore, it is a guarantee for the user, both at the level of aerodynamic behavior, as at
the level of structural resistance.
In these tests the opening, the stability, the rate of fall (this will never be higher than
5.5m/s) and its structural resistance are quantified.
For the structural resistance test, the parachute is loaded with a Dummy with which
the maximum load in flight of the set is reached. Through a protocol and the use of a
helicopter in flight at a speed of 144km/h, a maximum impact is achieved, at the
moment of opening, of 40m/s. No breakage or sign of deterioration should show the
parachute after the whole process
> installation/setup
The WINDSOS DRIVE can be installed in a ventral container or in the usual container
of our harness.
In both cases we must make sure of the correct connection.- left elevator with the left
side of our harness and right with the right (they are marked "L and R"). If we also
want to be able to free ourselves from the paraglider for greater control and stability of
our WINDSOS DRIVE, we will have to equip ourselves with quick-release carabiners
and quick-release mechanism for the accelerator.
The anchoring of the WINDSOS DRIVE must be independent from that of the quick
release. The WINDSOS DRIVE is not equipped with a delayed opening system nor is it
designed for free fall, so the process will always be: first launch of the parachute and
then release of the paraglider and never the other way around.
The installation must always be carried out by specialists with extensive experience or
in parachute inspection, folding and repair centers, of course following the instructions
in this manual.

The controls of the WINDSOS DRIVE are pre-braking by means of the blocking caused
with a knot in its plastic rod, with this we achieve more stability in the opening pro-
cess. If we pull the controls, these knots will be released and we can start steering the
Rogallo, if we also free ourselves from the paraglider we will be able to choose our
landing point with more accuracy and choose a safer landing (taking into account that
the glide of the WINDSOS DRIVE is limited), being able to avoid dangerous and com-
promised situations
The interior container of the WINDSOS DRIVE is equipped with three possible anchor-
ing points for the drive handle. One top, one side and one central.

It is very important to choose the right one, depending on the location of our WIND-
SOS DRIVE. In case of using a ventral container, the most common will be the central
anchor of the container. We will always check the correct functioning of the parachute
once it is installed in the chair or in the container, repeating the process if necessary to
verify that everything works correctly and that it can be removed easily.
> use
The possibility of having to use our parachute is very remote, but we must be clear
about the protocol to follow in an emergency. It is even highly recommended to carry
out practices in an approved school and always on the water, having all the security
measures (life jacket, radio and support boat, etc.).
We recall that the WINDSOS DRIVE is a "Rogallo" type parachute conceived as a safe-
ty system for paragliding pilots, who are in an emergency and never for the practice of
free fall, base jump or take off on the slope.
In case of use we must be clear how to do it. Once the parachute has been extracted
from its outer container or from its compartment in the chair (by means of a vigorous
and wide pull on the handle) we will find the parachute hanging from our hands inside
its inner container - the next and essential step, to rapid opening, is to energetically
launch the package in the opposite direction to our direction and always avoiding
throwing it against our paraglider. If we simply drop it, it will cause a more delayed
opening, which in case of being close to the ground, that time, can be vital.
It is very important to prevent the WINDSOS DRIVE from getting caught on the glider,
and this will depend on the circumstances of the emergency.
If it happens when the paraglider is bent or with an auger, we must be careful if we
release the quick-release carabiners, because the easiest thing is to release one first
than the other and this makes one side of the paraglider rise and can get tangled in the
WINDSOS DRIVE.
In this case it is always better not to release the carabiners but to pull the two brake
knobs fully and collect lines until reaching the branch node. With this we will leave the
paraglider “dead” and we can pick it up or drop it later.

> checking and folding
At least once a year, our WINDSOS DRIVE must be aired and folded again, to prevent
caking and possible static electricity from slowing down the opening of our
parachute.Duration: 12 years with an annual inspection.
The revision and folding of our WINDSOS DRIVE must always be carried out at
Windtech or, failing that, at a specialized center of recognized solvency, carried out by
professionals. It is vitally important, for the correct functioning of the WINDSOS
DRIVE, that the folding follow the indications in this manual.
1. Place the WINDSOS DRIVE on the extrados, with the lines perfectly stretched and
parallel, these will be separated into three groups, right wing, central lines and left
wing. The leading edge center chord should be at the top of the set.

2. Stretch, from the extrados seams and its anchors, the central lines along their entire
length, leaving them perfectly stretched and parallel to the connection tapes, likewise
the fabric that surrounds the anchors should be as smooth as possible, about 40/50cm
on each side of the center seam.

3. We will proceed to symmetrically place one half of the parachute on top of the other.

4. We will place the different cloths forming a fold in the center of each cloth towards
the outside, maintaining seam over seam and the lines perfectly stretched in the cen-
tral part, thanks to the weights; We will fold the asymmetric peak of the first cloth
inwards over the second.

5. We will fold both "semialas" downwards, to later fold them back on themselves.

6. We will order and fix the lines of the parachute, using a rubber band and the fabric
of the first cloth.
7. With the help of some metal weights we will fold the parachute in S shape depend-
ing on the container size.

8. We will proceed to introduce the parachute in its container and the subsequent
ordering of the lines with the help of rubber bands, finally closing the inner container,
being ready for installation in the chair.
> storage
Store WINDSOS DRIVE in a dry place, away from chemicals, ultraviolet light and high
temperatures. If your equipment is damp, open it up and let it dry.
Always keep the fabric and lines of your WINDSOS DRIVE clean, as dirt or different
chemical agents can damage them. If necessary, clean it only with water and a soft
sponge. This must be done if our equipment was in contact with salt water. Avoid con-
tact with oils, solvents and the like, they would significantly damage their materials.

> advertencias y obligaciones
El WINDSOS DRIVE es de un paracaídas del tipo “Rogallo” concebido como sistema de
seguridad para pilotos de parapente que se encuentren ante una emergencia y nunca
para la práctica de la caída libre, salto base o despegue en ladera.
Debemos dejar claro que, para volar en parapente; es necesario haber superado un
curso de iniciación y tener asimilados los conceptos del vuelo.
El vuelo en parapente entraña un riesgo, ya sea por imprudencia del propio piloto o por
condiciones meteorológicas adversas, que en el peor de los casos, pueden provocar acci-
dentes o que tengamos que utilizar nuestro sistema de emergencia
WINDSOS DRIVE.
WINDSOS DRIVE no se hace responsable, en modo alguno, de pérdidas o lesiones,
derivadas directa o indirectamente del uso o mala utilización de sus productos.
