Wireless Alarms S100KP User manual

S100KP Wireless Security Keypad
Installation and Operating Instructions
Introduction
The Wireless Keypad enables any authorized user to ‘Arm’
and ‘Disarm’ the alarm system by simply entering a 4 digit
Access Code’ at the keypad. When used with a S100 Siren
and Strobe with an Entry/Exit delay facility, the keypad
enables the system to be armed with a 15 second
Entry/Exit delay option. The keypad also incorporates Dual
Personal Attack (Panic) buttons and an Anti-tamper switch.
In addition, if random keys are pressed, after the 16th key is
pressed the unit will lock out and the ‘On Air’ light will flash
for 15 seconds. If this happens 3 times in succession, a full
alarm condition will occur.
Installation
The Wireless Keypad is designed for mounting on a flat
wall either inside or outside the property, within the radio
range of the system.
Important: DO NOT fix the keypad to metalwork or locate
the unit within 1m of Metalwork (ie. radiators, rain water
pipes etc), as this could affect the radio range of the keypad.
When the keypad is installed inside the property, the system
must be armed to give an Entry/Exit delay (refer to page 10
of your installation and operating manual). If the Siren &
Strobe does not have an entry/exit delay facility then the
keypad must be installed outside the protected area.
1. Remove the rubber gasket from the back of the unit.
Using the Allen key supplied, undo and remove the
backplate securing screw from the bottom of the unit
and remove the backplate.
2. Using the backplate as a template, mark the positions
of the two fixing holes on the wall, remove the backplate
and drill two 4mm holes and insert the plastic wall plugs
supplied. Secure the backplate directly to the wall
using the screws provided.
Note: If the keypad is to be fitted outside, fit the rubber
gasket between the backplate and the wall, to provide a
weatherseal.
3. Pull the battery from it’s compartment, connect the
battery to the battery connector and refit the battery into
it’s compartment.
4. Fit the keypad to the backplate and secure using the fixing
screw and Allen key. Retain the Allen key for future use.
Programming
The keypad requires two, separate codes to be
programmed into it during installation:
House Code: This enables the keypad to communicate
with the solar siren and strobe and must be set the same as
the House Code Dip switch settings in the other items in
your system.
Access Code: This is the 4-digit code that the authorized
user(s) enter at the keypad to arm and disarm the system.
On initial power-up the keypad has a preset Access Code
of 1234 and it is this code that is used during initial
programming of the keypad. Once the Access Code has
been changed the keypad will only operate on your new
Access Code.
Important: Do not confuse the ‘House Code’ (‘Dip Switch’
setting) with the ‘Access Code’ (user operating code). The
two codes are not related.
When using the keypad the keys must be pressed firmly
and within 5 seconds of each other. If you make a
mistake, wait 5 seconds and recommence programming
from the beginning of the sequence.
SETTING YOUR HOUSE CODE
1. For security reasons the keypad does not incorporate
the ‘Dip Switches’ found in the rest of your system’s
equipment. The ‘House Code’ has to be programmed
into the unit using the keypad push buttons. You
therefore need to make a note of your ‘House Code’
ie. the switches set to ‘ON’ in your system. (If you
are uncertain of your ‘House Code’, open up your
Remote Control, check the settings of the Dip
Switches in the battery compartment, and make a note
of the settings below).
2. To programme the ‘House Code’ press the following
keys in sequence :-
Remember to use YOUR House Code settings when
programming in YOUR House Code.
Ensure the ‘On Air’ light flashes 5 times to confirm the
setting has been accepted. (If the ‘On Air’ light does not
flash, wait 5 seconds and re-enter the programming
sequence from the beginning).
INITIALLY SETTING YOUR ACCESS CODE
On initial power up the keypad has a factory preset ‘Access
Code’ of 1234. However for security reasons it is essential
that you immediately change the Access Code to another
4-digit number which only you and other users of the
system know (usually a number with a personal significance
is easier to remember).

Ensure the ‘On Air’ light flashes 5 times to confirm the

not flash, wait 5 seconds and re-enter the programming
sequence from the beginning).
The Wireless Keypad is now fully programmed, and
working on your new ‘Access Code’.
Operation
Ensure that the Solar Siren & Strobe is in ‘Disarm’ mode
(ie. Not in ‘Service’ mode).
The Keypad ‘On Air’ light will illuminate for 1 second after
each valid command is entered. (If the ‘On Air’ light does
not flash, wait 5 seconds and re-enter the command from
the beginning).
ARMING
To instantly arm your system press the following keys in
sequence-
The solar siren and strobe will give one bleep/flash to
confirm the system is fully armed.
ENTRY/EXIT DELAY ARMING
To arm the S100 System with an entry/exit delay (where this
facility is available) press the following keys in sequence:-
The Solar Siren & Strobe will give one bleep/flash; followed
by a 15 second Exit delay; followed by one bleep/flash.
The system will then be fully armed. If any detector is then
triggered, the system will initiate a 15 second Entry delay.
The Solar Siren and Strobe will emit one long bleep/flash;
followed by a 15 second Entry time during which the
system should be disarmed via the security keypad or a
remote control from the system.
Note: The Entry/Exit delay facility can only be set via the
wireless Keypad and only where the Siren and Strobe has a
built in Entry/Exit delay facility.
DISARMING
To disarm the system press the following keys in sequence:-
The Siren and Strobe will emit 2 bleeps and 2 flashes to
confirm disarming.
Personal Attack Alarm
A full alarm condition can be initiated from the keypad in
the event of threat or danger by pressing and holding
and together for more than 2 seconds.
PERSONAL ATTACK ENABLE/DISABLE
The personal attack feature can be disabled if required
(eg. when the keypad is installed externally). To disable
press the following keys in sequence:-
To re-enable the Personal attack feature press the following
keys in sequence:-
In each case, ensure the ‘On Air’ light flashes 5 times to
confirm the change.
Changing Your Access Code
If you subsequently wish to change your Access Code
press the following keys in sequence:-
Remember to use your current Access Code to programme
the new code as above.
Low Battery Indication and
Battery Changing
If the battery voltage is low, the low battery indicator will
illuminate when a correct ‘Access Code’ is entered followed
by:- , or .
Note: The keypad is tamper protected. To prevent the alarm
from sounding when changing a low battery it is important
that the system is set to Service mode using the system
Remote Control to prevent a Tamper signal being received,
refer to your Installation & Operating Handbook for details.
To change the keypad battery, use the Allen key to undo
and remove the backplate securing screw at the bottom of
the keypad. Disconnect and remove the old battery and
connect a new 9V PP3 Alkaline battery.
Important: The keypad will retain its programme for
approximately 15 seconds during battery changing. If the
keypad fails to operate your system after changing the battery
the keypad will need to have the ‘House Code’ and ‘Access
Code’ re-programmed as detailed above.
When you have replaced the battery remember to take
your system out of Service Mode.
