The incredibly compact, lightweight and patented X10DR® secure wireless microphone
extends the power of the mobile radio into the palm of your hand, both in and out of the vehicle.
To provide even greater range and into building coverage, Wireless Pacific have developed a
unique external mount housing for the Elite Plus Gateway. Operating in the 2.4GHz band means
antenna coax cable losses can be significant. Even the best available coax suffers a 3dB loss
on a 5.2m cable run. That’s the equivalent of losing half the RF signal!
We are now able to achieve range in excess of 700 meters line of sight coverage by
repackaging the standard Elite Plus Gateway electronic circuitry into an IP65 rated housing
with a XMPA antenna directly mounted on top. Of greater importance, that means greater “in-
to-building”penetration than with a standard internally mounted gateway device.
The XRTG-EX2 Plus gateway ruggedised housing mounts on a stainless L shape bracket and are
designed to meet IP65 weatherproof environmental rating and to operate at up to 92ºC and down
to -30ºC meaning it can operate externally in most environment extremes including external use
on Fire engines.
The gateway connects to your mobile radio in your vehicle up to 700 meters (LOS).
It passes all voice traffic to and from the secure wireless microphones.

Control Station / Command Post Use
Because there is no range impact on the length of the connecting shielded cat 6 cable, it means the XRTG Plus can be mounted
up to 30 meters plus away from the host radio/control station if need be. This makes the XRTG Plus packaging ideal for warehouse
installations, or in those situations where the required building coverage might be better achieved by mounting the gateway in
a central building high point overlooking the office work areas below. For Command Post Response vehicles, the XRTG Plus
external design makes it also ideal to be mounted on an electric pump up mast, so as to lift the integrated antenna up above any
localized obstructions at a disaster scene and thereby ensure greater signal availability for handset users.

Installation Cables
Connection to the XRTG-EX2 comes standard with a 6 meter XIC shielded flat interface cable. A variety of lengths
are available from 14cm up to 25 meters. Care should be taken when exchanging the interface cable to ensure the
IP65 water sealing at the cable entry point is not compromised. To simplify installation, both ends of the gateway
connect cable is terminated but should you need to shorten the cable or remove the shielded RJ45 plug to allow
passing through a cabin wall etc, a replacement can be found at any computer network supply store. a 4.5m XEC-4.5
extension cable is also available. The cable junction should be wrapped in waterproof tape if installed open to the
elements.
Automatic Handset - Gateway Pairing
Start by powering off the connected host radio. Next unplug the XIC-6.0 cable from the XCA radio adaptor. Wait
2 seconds and then plug the XIC cable back in. Automatic pairing will be enabled in the gateway for the next 30
seconds. Now power up the desired factory fresh handset near the gateway and wait until confirmation tones
sound. When desired, turn off the paired handset and pair another handset in the same manner.
Note: New XEX2 unpaired or manually erased handsets will power up in pairing mode.
Erase Pairing Process
To reset a handset: With the handset powered OFF, press the PTT and volume up button while powering ON by
pressing the right side button. Master resetting drops all previous pairing. Turn handset Off and the On and the
handset will be in automatic pairing mode and pairing tones will sound.
You can master reset/erase an XRTG gateway by disconnecting the XRTG from power by unplugging the XIC cable
and temporarily inserting an XRPB in series with XIC and XCA interface cable/adaptor. Press XRPB button for ~10
seconds and release. All previous pairing will be erased.
