Introduction
Please read this manual carefully, It will show you how
to maintain and operate your cooler safely and efficiently
and obtain full benefit from its many built-in features.
This product does not require assembty.
Caution: Always unplug the cooler from the electrical
receptacle before attempting to open or service this
cooler. For maximum safety always plug this cooler
into an electrical receptacle provided with a ground
fault circuit interrupter (GFCI).

Directions for Use
1Fill the cooler with water.
Disconnect the power to the cooler before filling. Open
the water inlet door and pour in clean water. The water
capacity is 1.5 gallons (6 liters). The minimum amount
of water needed for the pump to operate is .5 gallon
(2 liters).
The cooler isfull when the water level gauge indicates
the highest reading. Close the water inlet door after
filring. No damage will occurto the pump if the cooler is
operated without water.
Caution: Before filling unit with water+ check that the
level indicator moves freely. Do not overfill as water
will spill from the cooler.
2 Plug into a power outlet.
Caution: Use only the rated voltage (120 Volts, 60Hz).
3 Turn on the cooler.
,When this appliance is used as an air cooler it should be
filled with water and the "COOL" knob turned to the
"ON" position.
To get the best cooling performance, place the cooler
with its back near an open window or door so it can
draw in fresh air. Open another window or door on the
opposite side of the room for "flow through" ventilation.
This cooler will not cool properly in a closed room. It is
recommended that when the cooler is first used it should
be run for 10 minutes in the "COOL", "HIGH" setting.

4 Adjust the fan speed.
Set the "AIR" knob to the "HIGH" or "LOW" position.
The cooler may be used as a fan only by turning the
"COOL" knob to the "OFF" position.

Cautions
Tipping/Spilling
This cooler may contain water. To avoid spills, ensure
that the cooler is moved carefully and is not tilted or
bumped. Always unplug the cooler from the electrical
receptacle before moving or servicing.
Stability
Do not place anything on top of the cooler.
Cleaning
Always unplug the cooler from the electrical receptacle
before cleaning. Do not use abrasive cleaners or
solvents; the exterior surfaces can be wiped with a
damp cloth and household detergent.

Maintenance
Unplug the cooler from the power supply
before servicing. At least once ayear, at the end
of summer, it is advisable to clean your cooler
to maintain its efficiency.
1 Drain the water.
The drain plug is located on the underside of the
cooler. Place abucket under the cooler, and remove
the drain plug.
2 Remove and clean the air filter.
First, remove the filter retainer on the rear side
of the cooler. Using a flat head screwdriver (or coin,
etc.), rotate the two screws (located in the upper
corners of the cooler) one quarter turn counter
clockwise. The filter retainer should now be free to
remove. Next, remove the air filter, rinse with fresh
water and household detergent, and allow it to dry.
3 Remove and clean the Aspen pad.
Remove the Aspen pad from the unit. To clean the
Aspen pad, rinse it with fresh water and then allow it to
dry. Replace the Aspen pad if it becomes excessively
clogged or dirty.
4 Clean the water tank.
Using a fiat head screwdriver (or coin, etc.), remove
the screw on each side of the cooler and the two
screws on the rear bottom of the cooler. Remove the
body from the water tank by carefully tilting it forward.
Wash the inside of the water tank to remove any
impurities in the tank. Reassembly of the water tank
and body is the reverse order of disassembly.

Troubleshooting Guide
Condition
Cooler will not operate at first.
Probable Cause
The power outlet or supply is faulty.
Wrong voltage.
Cooler stops operating after running The motor overheated (safety cutout).
for some time.
No cooling. Cooling control is off.
Reservoir is empty.
Weather istoo humid.
Aspen filter pad and/or pump inlet
screen is blocked or dirty.
Pump is not working properly.
The fan/pump is not running fast
enough on low speed.
Cooler smells bad. Reservoiror filter pad isdirty or water
quality is poor.
Cooler makes scraping or rattling
noise on new season start-up. Dirt has accumulated inside the pump.
Water overflows from the reservoin Too much water has accumulated
inside the reservoir.
The water level indicator is stuck.
Cooler will not operate at all. Electrical fault.
Damaged power supply cord.

Remedy
Switch on the power outlet, Check the power supply and the power outlet.
Check that the power supply isthe same as specified on the rating label.
Wait 30-45 minutes for motor to cool clown and it will restart automatically.
If the condition persists take the cooler to a service agent.
Turn "COOL" control on (see page 3).
Fill with water again until water level meter is at the full position,
Water capacity = 1,5 gallons (6 liters),
Turn the "COOL" control off (see page 3) and use cooler as a fan,
Clean parts (see Maintenance, page 5).
The pump is NOT a separate electric pump. It is connected to the fan motor and is
driven mechanically, Turn the cooler off, completely drain the reservoir, and then
refill with water (see page 5). Switch "AIR" to high speed, and turn the "COOL"
control "ON" (see page 3). Run the cooler for 10-15 minutes non-stop. The Aspen
filter pad should now be wet. If the pad is not visibly wet and there is no cooling,
have the cooler checked by a service agent.
Check that the supply voltage is up to the correct level. Fan and pump will pick-up
speed slightly as the motor reaches normal operating temperature. Allow the
cooler to run for 30-60 minutes and check again. If there is no improvement, have
the cooler checked by a service agent.
Drain the reservoir and fill the cooler with clean water. If it still smells, clean the
tank and replace the Aspen filter pad or add a little vanilla essence or perfume
to the water.
Turn the cooler off, completely drain the reservoir, and then refill with water
(see page 5). Switch "AIR" to high speed, and turn the "COOL" control "ON"
(see page 3). Run the cooler for 10-15 minutes non-stop. The Aspen filter pad
should now be wet. If the pad is not visibly wet and there is no cooling, have the
cooler checked by a service agent.
Drain some water out (see page 5),
Slide the indicator up to the full position, then let it drop. If it fails to
operate, have it checked by a service agent,
Electrical parts must only be repaired and replaced by authorized service agents.
If the power supply cord of this appliance is damaged, it should be replaced
by an authorized service agent as special purpose tools are required.

Portable Evaporative Cooler Limited Warranty
AdobeAir, Inc., warrants to its customers and/or consumer purchasers of this
portable cooler that the cooler and the parts thereof, except the evaporative cooler
pad media, will be free from defects in material and workmanship for aperiod of
one year from the date of initial purchase.
IWhatthis warrantydoesnotcover:
A This warranty does not cover any failure, damage or defect that results from unauthorized modification
or service; or from the use of products or replacement parts other than those from AdobeAir; including,
but not limited to, motors and pumps.
B This warranty does not cover any damage or malfunction unless caused by a defect in material or
workmanship. Damage o¢ malfunction which is not covered by this warranty includes, but is not limited
to, water damage to the motor, abuse, misuse, alteration, improper installation/maintenance/operation
or transportation damage.
CThis warranty does not cover replacement of cooler pads. Cooler pads are disposable items and their life
expectancy depends on local conditions.
D This warranty does not cover the cost of a service call at the site of installation to diagnose cause of
trouble, the cost of labor to install the part, or mileage allowance to or from the site. AdobeAir does not
pay the frelght/postage on any exchange.
E This warranty does not cover evaporative coolers installed and operated outside the continental
United States.
II Do not use cooler cleaners, cooler treatments, or other additives in this evaporative cooler.
The use of any of the products will void your warranty and may impair the life of your cooler.

This warranty is the only warranty extended by AdobeAir to suppliers and/or purchasers of this evaporative
cooler, AdobeAir disclaims all other warranties, express or implied, that arise by the operation of the
law, except that implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose are limited to the
duration of the warranty period. AdobeAir shall not be liable for any incidental or consequential damage
which may have resutted from any alleged breach of warranty.
Some states do not allow I_mitations on how long an implied warranty lasts or the exclusion or limitation of
inddental or consequential damages, so the limitations or exclusions stated above may not apply to you.
This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may have other rights which vary from state to state.
Since AdobeAir, Inc. follows a policy of continuous product improvement, it reserves the right to change
design and specification without prior notice or liability.
Replacement Parts
Your cooler is a high-quality evaporative cooler designed to give years of trouble-
free service when it is properly maintained. However, should replacement parts be
required, they are available through AdobeAir customer serviceat 602-257-0060.
