OPERATING INSTRUCTION

Remove the protective film from the display before use.

Safety
Read the following advice carefully and store these
operating instructions in case you want to reread
something later. If you give the item to someone else,
give them these operating instructions as well.
• This device may be used by children over 8 years of
age and over, as well as by persons with reduced
physical, sensory or mental abilities, or lack of
experience and / or knowledge if they are supervised or
instructed regarding the safe use of the equipment and
have understood the resulting hazards.
• Keep the device away from children under the age of
8.
• Cleaning and user maintenance may not be carried
out by children unless they are supervised.
• Children must be supervised to make sure that they do
not play with the device.
• The device must not be immersed in water or other
liquids. Electric shock hazard! Do not use the device in
areas where it may be wet, such as a sink.

Unpacking and checking
1. Remove the device from the packaging, remove all
protective films and keep the packaging materials out of
the reach of children.
2. Dispose of the materials separately according to type.
3. Check that all the items that should be included in the
delivery are present and whether the device displays
any damage.

Initial setup
Follow the instructions in the order described and do
not press any buttons while switching the device on.

1. Open the battery compartment cover.
2. Insert 4 LR6 (AA) / 1.5 V batteries facing in the
direction indicated on the bottom of the battery
compartment. Make sure that the poles of the batteries
are correct (+/-).
3. Put the battery compartment cover back in place and
close it.
Starting atomic signal reception
As soon as the clock has power from the batteries, it
begins receiving and searches for the WWVB signal. If
the time signal is been received in sufficient strength,
the date and time are shown on the display.
You can choose atomic signal reception ON/OFF in the
setting mode. Default is ON.
When OFF is set, the atomic signal automatic reception
is turned off permanently.
The clock will search for the atomic signal at 1:00AM, 2:
00AM, 3:00AM, 4:00AM, and 5:00AM every day.
• If there is no WWVB reception, the clock will search

for the atomic time signal every 1 hour until the WWVB
time is received.
• The atomic time signal icon will flash while searching.
The tower icon will be solid when it has connected.
• After reception, this station will only search for the
atomic signal after midnight.
• From normal time display, press and release the
button to search for the WWVB time signal.
• Please be sure you have selected your time zone from
the list in the button. When the atomic time
signal is received, the clock will set to the time zone
selected. Default is PST.

Please note: Signal reception is normally better at night
and when the weather is clear. The atomic signal
generally takes a few hours to synchronize, so it is
important to manually set the time and date after
powering on the display.

Set the Time Zone
Press button to select time zone PST, MST, CST
and EST. Default is PST.
Set your time zone with button.
Set the Time Zone to your area for the hours to be
correct.

Setting the time and date manually
1. Press and hold the button until the display for the
DST begins to flash.
2. Set the DST ON/OFF with the and buttons.
3. Press to store the setting. The year will flash on
the display.
4. Set the year with the and buttons.
5. Press to store the setting.
6. Continue as described:
- Set a value with and .
- Store a setting with .
7. Set the following settings one after another:

- Month
- Day
- Hours
- Minutes
- RCC ON/OFF (time signal reception ON/OFF)
8. Then press to store the changed setting.
Choosing the location
ATTENTION
- Protect the device from dust, shocks, extreme
temperatures and direct sunlight.
- Protect the device from moisture. Only place the base
unit in a dry, enclosed space.
DANGER
When installing the device on a wall, there must be no
electrical cables, gas or water pipes in the wall at the
installation site. Otherwise there is a risk of electric
shock!

The clock will adapt to summer time and winter time
automatically if DST is set ON.
•Summer time: the second Sunday of March at 1:59 59’
AM changes to 3:00 00’ AM
•Winter time: the first Sunday of November at 1:59 59’
AM changes to 1:00 00’ AM
During the DST time period, you can set it ON or OFF,
the time will change accordingly.
For example, you set it OFF manually (DST ON to DST
OFF) on April 27th at 10 o’clock AM, the time will reduce
1 hour and change to 9 o’clock AM and vice versa.

Low battery indicator
When the low battery symbol is shown on the display,
you have to replace the batteries.
Note:
• When you change the batteries all the settings are
lost.
• Always exchange all batteries and only use those listed
in the ‘Technical Data’.
• Make sure that the poles of the batteries are correct
(+/-) when inserting.
• Clean the battery and device contacts if necessary
before inserting.
• Dispose of the old batteries in an environmentally
manner
