reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and
knowledge, unless they are closely supervised and instructed concerning
use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
• Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near
children. Cleaning and user maintenance should not be carried out by
children without supervision. Children should be supervised to ensure that
they do not play with the appliance. Keep the appliance and its cable out of
the reach of children.
• Do not touch hot surfaces. Use the handles or knobs provided. Care must be
taken as burns can occur from touching hot parts or from spilled, hot liquid.
• To protect against fire, electric shock and personal injury, do not immerse
cable, plug, base or electric kettle in water or other liquid.
• Unplug from the socket when the kettle is not in use and before cleaning.
Allow to cool before fitting or removing parts and before cleaning the
appliance.
• Do not operate any appliance with a damaged power lead or plug, or
after the appliance malfunctions or has been dropped or damaged in any
manner. Power lead replacement and repairs must be conducted by the
