a) Loosen the two cap screws at the bottom of
the front handle with the hex key provided.
(Fig. 4)
b) Move the pivot shoe (2) in or out to the
position required.
c) Tighten both cap screws.
Operation
1 Turn on/off the reciprocating saw
a) The reciprocating saw is equipped with a lock
button (3) which reduces the possibility of
accidental starting.
The lock button (3) is located on the handle
above the on/off switch trigger.
You must depress the lock button in order to
pull the switch trigger.
The lock button resets each time the trigger is
released.
b) To turn on the reciprocating saw, depress the lock button (3) and pull the ON/OFF switch
trigger (4).
c) Release the ON/OFF switch trigger to turn off the reciprocating saw.
d) The speed of the reciprocating saw can be increased by increasing the pressure on the
ON/OFF switch trigger.
Decrease the pressure on the ON/OFF switch trigger will decrease the speed of the
reciprocating saw.
2 General cutting
a) Hold the reciprocating saw firmly.
b) Make sure that the workpiece is held securely.
c) Turn on the reciprocating saw, place the pivot shoe against the workpiece, then cut the
workpiece slowly. Do not force.
d) Use only enough pressure to keep the saw cutting. Use of excessive pressure will break the
blade by bending and twisting.

3 Plunge cutting
a) Clearly mark the line of cut.
b) Choose a convenient starting point inside the area to be cut out.
c) Place the tip of the blade over that point.
d) Rest the pivot shoe on the workpiece and hold firmly in position.
e) Turn on the reciprocating saw, with saw blade at full cutting speed, slowly tilt the saw
downward until the tip of the blade starts cutting.
f) After blade cuts through the workpiece, tilt saw until blade is perpendicular to the
workpiece and continue the cutting.
4 Metal cutting
a) Metals such as steel, aluminium, brass and copper may be cut with this reciprocating saw.
Be careful not to twist or bend the saw blade. Do not use excessive force.
b) You can use cutting oil when cutting metals. Cutting oil will keep blades cool, increase
cutting efficiency and prolong the blade's life.
Cleaning, maintenance and storage
1 Cleaning
a) Keep the ventilation slots free from dust and dirt to prevent the reciprocating saw from
overheating.
b) Regularly clean the reciprocating saw with a soft cloth, preferably after each use. If the dirt
does not come off, use a soft cloth moistened with soapy water.
c) Never use solvents such as gasoline, alcohol and ammonia water etc. to clean the
reciprocating saw. These solvents may damage the plastic parts.
2 Maintenance
The reciprocating saw has been designed to operate over a long period of time
with a minimum of maintenance. Continuous satisfactory operation depends upon
care and regular cleaning. The reciprocating saw should only be repaired by an
authorised service centre.
3 Storage
Store the reciprocating saw out of the reach of children in a stable and secure place.
