Additional safety points for your
rotary hammer
Wear ear protectors. Exposure to noise can cause hearing loss.
Use auxiliary handles supplied with the tool. Loss of control can
cause personal injury.
Always wear a dust mask.
Hold power tools by insulated gripping surfaces when
performing an operation where the cutting tool may contact
hidden wiring or its own cord. Contact with a ‘live’ wire will make
exposed metal parts of the tool ‘live’ and shock the operator.
Connect the mains plug only when the tool is switched off. After
using, pull the mains plug.
Always direct the cable to the rear away from the machine.
Persons under 16 years of age are not permitted to operate this
machine.
Keep the tool and accessories out of the reach of children.
Remove the plug from the socket before carrying out any adjustment,
servicing or maintenance.
Fully unwind cable drum extensions to avoid potential over heating.
When an extension cable is required you must ensure it has the
correct ampere rating for your power tool and that it is in a safe
electrical condition.
Ensure your mains supply voltage is the same as your tool rating plate
voltage.
Your tool is double insulated for additional protection against a
possible electrical insulation failure within the tool.
Always check walls and ceilings to avoid hidden power cables and
pipes.

Operation instructions
Note: Before using the tool, read the instruction book carefully.
INTENDED USE
The machine is intended for hammer drilling in concrete, brick and
stone. It is also suitable for drilling without impact in wood, metal,
ceramic and plastic. Machines with electronic control and right/left
rotation are also suitable for screwdriving.
INSERTING AND REMOVING DRILL BIT IN SDS
Take care that the dust protection cap (2) is not damaged when
changing tools.
•Inserting
Clean and lightly oil the bit before inserting. Insert the dust-free bit
into the bit holder with a twisting motion until it latches.
The bit locks itself. Check the locking by pulling on the tool.
• Removing
Retract back the bit holder locking sleeve (3) and pull out the bit.
Warning: Your new WORX Rotary Hammer Drill generates
powerful forces to get your job done quickly and effectively. These
forces may cause inferior quality SDS bits to break and jam in the
chuck, We therefore recommend that only high quality SDS bits be
used with this tool.

pressure - speed is controlled by varying the pressure applied to the switch.
SWITCH LOCK-ON BUTTON
Depress the on/off switch (5) then the lock on button (4); release the
on/off switch first and the lock-on button second. Your switch is now
locked on for continuous use. To switch off your tool just depress and
release the on/off switch.
AUXILIARY HANDLE
Slide the handle onto the hammer and rotate to the desired working
position. To clamp the auxiliary handle rotates the handle clockwise. To
loosen the auxiliary handle rotate the handle anti-clockwise (See B).
Warning: Always use the auxiliary handle.
FORWARD AND REVERSE ROTATION CONTROL (WU344
WU344.1)
With the drill pointing away from you, push the forward/reverse-lever
(6) to the left “ “for forward rotation. Push the forward/reverse-
lever (6) to the right for reverse rotation “ “.
Warning: Never change the direction of rotation while the
tool is rotating, wait until it has stopped.
ADJUSTABLE DEPTH GAUGE
Fit the drill bit into the chuck. Loosen the depth gauge by rotating
the handle anti-clockwise. Slide the depth gauge until the distance
between the depth gauge end and the drill bit end is equal to the
depth of hole/screw you wish to make. Then clamp the depth gauge
by rotating the handle clockwise.

FUNCTION MODE SELECTION
The operation of the gearbox for each application is set with the
function mode selection switch (7). To change between functions,
depress the unlocking button (10) and rotate the selector to the
desired operating mode.
For simultaneous drilling and impacting of
concrete or masonry, choose the Hammer
drilling position.
For drilling into steel, wood and plastics
choose the Rotary drilling position.
Warning: The operating mode selector switch may be
actuated only at a standstill.

Working hints for your drill
(hammer)
If your power tool becomes over heated, set the speed to maximum
and run no load for 2-3 minutes to cool the motor. SDS-plus tungsten
carbide drill bits should always be used for concrete and masonry.
When drilling in metal, only use HSS drill bits in good condition.
Where possible use a pilot hole before drilling a large diameter hole.
Maintenance
Remove the plug from the socket before carrying out any
adjustment, servicing or maintenance.
There are no user serviceable parts in your power tool. Never use
water or chemical cleaners to clean your power tool. Wipe clean with
a dry cloth. Always store your power tool in a dry place. Keep the
motor ventilation slots clean. Keep all working controls free of dust.
Occasionally you may see sparks through the ventilation slots. This is
normal and will not damage your power tool.
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the
manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order
to avoid a hazard.
Environmental protection
Waste electrical products should not be disposed of with
household waste. Please recycle where facilities exist. Check
with your local authorities or retailer for recycling advice.
Plug replacement

If you need to replace the fitted plug then follow the instructions
below.
IMPORTANT
The wires in the mains lead are colored in accordance with the
following code:
BLUE =NEUTRAL BROWN = LIVE
As the colors of the wires in the mains lead of this appliance may not
correspond with the colored markings identifying the terminals in
your plug, proceed as follows. The wire which is colored blue must
be connected to the terminal which is marked with N. The wire which
is colored brown must be connected to the terminal which is marked
with L.
Note: If a moulded plug is fitted and has to be removed take great
care in disposing of the plug and severed cable, it must be destroyed
to prevent engaging into a socket.

ZUSÄTZLICHE
SICHERHEITSHINWEISE FÜR
WINKELSCHLEIFER
Tragen Sie Gehörschutz, Wenn Sie die Schlagbohrmaschine
benutzen. Lärmaussetzung kann Gehörverlust verursachen.
Benutzen Sie den zusätzlichen Handgriff, der mit dem
Werkzeug geliefert wird. Kontrollverlust kann Personenschäden

Halten Sie das Werkzeug nur an den isolierten griffigen
Oberflächen, wenn Sie einen Einsatz durchführen, bei dem
Schneidwerkzeuge eventuell versteckte Kabel berühren

HINWEISE ZUM BETRIEB
Hinweis: Lesen Sie das Handbuch vor Inbetriebnahme des
Werkzeuges sorgfältig durch.
Bestimmungsgemäßer Gebrauch
Das Elektrowerkzeug ist bestimmt zum Hammerbohren in Beton,
Ziegel und Gestein. Es ist ebenso geeignet zum Bohren ohne Schlag
in Holz, Metall, Keramik und Kunststoff. Elektrowerkzeuge mit
elektronischer Regelung und Rechts-/Linkslauf sind auch geeignet
zum Schrauben.
SDS-PLUS BOHRER EINSETZEN UND HERAUSNEHMEN
Beim Wechseln der Werkzeuge darauf achten, daß die
Schutzkappe (2) nicht beschädigt wird.
•Einsetzen
Werkzeug vor dem Einsetzen reinigen und leicht fetten. Das
staubfreie Werkzeug in die Werkzeugaufnahme drehend bis zum
Einrasten einschieben. Das Werkzeug verriegelt sich selbsttätig.
Verriegelung durch Ziehen am Werkzeug prüfen
•Entnehmen
Ziehen Sie die SDS-Spannhülse (3) zurück und entnehmen Sie das
Werkzeug.
Warnung: Ihr neuer WORX-Bohrhammer erzeugt hohe Kräfte,
damit Sie Ihre Arbeiten schnell und problemlos erledigen können.
Verwenden Sie nur qualitativ hochwertige SDS-plus Bohrer.

Zum Einschalten/Anlauf des Werkzeugs drücken Sie auf den Schalter.
Zum Stoppen lassen Sie den Schalter wieder los. Das Werkzeug hat
eine Drehzahlregelung (5). Die Drehzahl wird durch Druck auf den
Schalter reguliert: je stärker der Druck, desto höher die Drehzahl .
EINSCHALTVERRIEGELUNG
Drücken Sie den An/Aus-Schalter (5) und dann die
Einschaltverriegelung (4). Lassen Sie zuerst den An/Aus-Schalter
und dann die Einschalltverriegelung los. Ihr Schalter ist nun im
Dauerbetrieb eingerastet. Um Ihr Werkzeug abzuschalten, drücken
Sie kurz den An/Aus-Schalter und lassen Sie ihn wieder los.
ZUSATZHANDGRIFF VORNE
Schieben Sie den Zusatzhandgriff auf den Bohrerhals und drehen Sie
ihn in die gewünschte Position. Zum Festzuklemmen, drehen Sie den
Handgriff gegen den Uhrzeigersinn – nach links. Zum Lösen, drehen
Sie den Handgriff im Uhrzeigersinn – nach rechts. (siehe B)
Warnung: Benutzen Sie immer den Zusatzhandgriff.
RECHTS-LINKS-LAUF (WU344 WU344.1)
Zum Bohren und Schrauben nutzen Sie den Rechtslauf - Schalter-
Hebel ist zur linken Seite umgelegt “ “.
Linkslauf – Schalter-Hebel ist zur rechten Seite umgelegt - zum
Schrauben oder Bohrer ausdrehen “ “.
Warnung: Nur im Stillstand schalten. Warten Sie, bis die
Maschine ausgelaufen ist.
TIEFENANSCHLAG
Fügen Sie den Bohrereinsatz in das Bohrfutter ein. Lösen Sie den

Tiefenanschlag, indem Sie den Handgriff gegen den Uhrzeigersinn
drehen. Verschieben Sie den Tiefenanschlag, bis die Entfernung
zwischen Tiefenanschlag und Bohrereinsatz der gewünschten

indem Sie den Handgriff gegen den Uhrzeigersinn drehen.
WAHLSCHLATER
Mit dem Betriebsarten-Wahlschalter (7) können Sie die richtige
Betriebsart für jeden Anwendungszweck auswählen. Zum Wechsel
zwischen den einzelnen Funktionen drücken Sie die Freigabetaste
(10) und wählen die gewünschte Betriebsart mit dem Wahlschalter
aus.
Zum Schlagbohren in Beton
oder Mauerwerk wählen Sie die
Bohrhammer-Position.
Für oder Schrauben in Stahl, Holz
und Kunststoff wählen Sie die Bohr-

ARBEITSHINWEISE FÜR IHREN
BOHRHAMMER
Wenn derBohrhammer zu heiß wird, lassen Sie ihn 2-3 Minuten im
Leerlauf laufen, um den Motor abzukühlen.

Zum Bohren in Metall, Holz, Kunststoff, verwenden Sie nur
HSS-Bohrer oder dem Material entsprechende Bohrer in gutem
Zustand. Einen magnetischen Halter verwenden, wenn Sie kurze
Schraubendreherbits verwenden.
WARTUNG
Ziehen Sie grundsätzlich den Netzstecker, bevor Sie Einstell-,
Reparatur- oder Wartungstätigkeiten ausführen.
Es enthält keine Teile, die Sie warten müssen. Reinigen Sie Ihr
Werkzeug niemals mit Wasser oder chemischen Loesungsmitteln.
Wischen Sie es mit einem trockenen Tuch sauber. Lagern Sie Ihr
Werkzeug immer an einem trockenen Platz. Sorgen Sie dafür, dass
bei staubigen Arbeiten die Lüftungsöffnungen frei sind. Falls es
erforderlich sein sollte, den Staub zu entfernen, trennen Sie zuerst
das Elektrowerkzeug vom Stromversorgungsnetz. Verwenden Sie
nichtmetallische Objekte zum Entfernen von Staub und vermeiden
Sie das Beschädigen innerer Teile. Gelegentlich sind durch die
Lüftungsschlitze hindurch Funken zu sehen. Dies ist normal und wird
Ihr Werkzeug nicht beschädigen.
Wenn ein Ersatz von Stecker oder Anschlussleitung erforderlich
ist, dann ist dies von unserer Servicestelle oder einer
Elektrofachwerkstatt durchzuführen, um Sicherheitsgefährdungen zu
vermeiden. Lassen Sie Reparaturen nur durch unsere Servicestelle
oder durch eine Fachwerkstatt mit Originalersatzteilen durchführen.
