If the shutter is fully closed or fully open, do not forcibly turn the crank handle any further – this could damage the system. Always make
sure you are cranking in the right direction.
Slow down the cranking motion before the shutter is fully opened / closed. This will prevent the shutter from impacting violently against
the façade or the window.
Do not leave in partially open position.
Integrated insect screen roller blind – manual operation from top to bottom or diagonally: after the end bar has been manually
unlatched, the roller blind (insect screen) will scroll up a few inches by itself. If necessary, hold the screen in place by hand to prevent it
from being damaged by colliding too fast with the end stop. For technical reasons, in slimline systems there is no built-in brake
mechanism.
The integrated insect screen roller blinds are pre-tensioned by means of a spring shaft. Never try to disassamble the fabric shaft –
danger of injury! Always contact your local specialist dealer regarding maintenance and repairs.
When using an integrated insect screen in a door space (roller blind, tilting frame, sliding frame) always check whether the insection
protection system is open or closed. Because it allows good visibility, it is easy to forget that the insect screen is in place. Attempting to
walk through the screen while it is in place can cause personal injury and/or damage the screen.
When using an integrated hinged door insect screen with automatic door closer, the hinged screen closes automatically. When
revolving doors are closing automatically, ensure no persons or objects are between the revolving leaf and the frame profile. – Risk of
crushing!
When using an integrated sliding door insect screen take care to ensure that no one and nothing is in the space between the sliding
screen and the frame – danger of crushing!
Window shutters should be operated only by persons who have received instruction from appropriately qualified personnel.
Individuals who are unable to fully appreciate the risks associated with incorrect operation and use must be supervised particularly
carefully. Never allow children to play with the operating equipment!
Operate the shutter only if it has been ensured that there are no obstructions within the area of movement.
Do not leave shutters in a partially opened position, where they could bang and slam in the wind. Risk of damage! Always open the
shutters fully, or close and latch them.
Exposure to sunlight can cause system surfaces or individual shutter components to become very hot; this can result in burn injuries in
the event of direct contact.
Use only suitable, approved climbing equipment for maintenance, repair or cleaning activities. Climbing aids must not be leant against
or attached to the shutter. Ensure that all such equipment is secured firmly on a solid base with adequate support. Never use the
awning for support – danger of injury and falling!
In the event of frost or freezing, there is a risk of damage to the shutter as a result of ice build-up. Do not use force when trying to
operate if shutters are frozen!
Debris and/or coarse impurities, especially in the area of the moving system parts, should be removed immediately, as they create a
risk of damage to or breakage of the shutter.
At wind speeds over 60km/h the shutters must be closed, otherwise deformation and other subsequent damage may occur. In addi-
tion, the wind resistance classes in closed position must be complied with.
Closed shutters cannot withstand any wind force if the windows / doors are open – so make sure you close your windows / doors fully
during high winds. Make sure that no draughts can occur while you are away. Take note of the operating conditions according to the
wind classifications (open / closed).
Before the maximum permissible wind force is exceeded, additionally secure the system, or take down the shutters and keep them in
a safe place.
If the shutter can no longer be used due to a technical defect, the danger zone around the shutter must be adequately secured or the
leaf / leaves taken down. Falling awning component can injure persons and animals or can damage other items!
In the event of any malfunction of the shutter, always contact a relevant specialist dealer.
When dismantling or replacing the shutter, please comply with the disposal regulations in force.
