1Overview
With the LabStation, which is available as an accessory, you can con-
veniently use your pHotoFlex in the laboratory.
Laboratory operation with the LabStation enables the following addi-
tional functions:
With photometric measurements, the zero measurement is retained
even after switching the pHotoFlex off and on again
You can connect a bar code reader for the simplified calling up of
programs
The LSdata software included serves to easily enter user-defined
programs
Operation with power pack and accumulator pack (included in the
scope of delivery of the LabStation). The accumulator pack in the
pHotoFlex is automatically charged as soon as the meter is placed
in the LabStation.

2 Battery operation with LabStation
LS Flex/430
Battery operation The LabStation LS Flex/430 is supplied with power with the power pack
included. If the meter and the LabStation LS Flex/430 are connected to
each other, the LabStation LS Flex/430 supplies the meter with power.
At the same time, the accumulator pack (rechargeable batteries) in the
meter is charged. The accumulator pack is charged even while the me-
ter is switched off.
Charging time of the
accumulator pack approx. 36 hours.
CAUTION
Use original power packs only.
The line voltage at the operating site must lie within the input volt-
age range of the original power pack (SEE chapter 3 TECHNICAL DA-
TA).
NOTE
The accumulator will eventually discharge even when the meter is
switched off. If you do not work with the meter for a longer period of time
you should charge the accumulator every 6 months to avoid total dis-
charging. Accumulators that are often totally discharged have a shorter
service life.

ables to select program numbers in a simplified manner.
Recommended bar code readers (see operating manual of your pHo-
toFlex).
For the interface of your meter, set the same baud rate that is set for
