Dear customer,
thank you for purchasing the Vision TV Card from X4-TECH. This card enables analog
television reception via antenna or cable television connection and even allows the
recording of television programs. Recordings can be either watched directly on televi-
sion or recorded on digital media (CD, DVD) for viewing on television later on. Simply
install the card into your computers PCI slot. Please read and follow all instructions
found in the instructions manual carefully! Retain this instruction manual for future
reference.
A declaration of CE conformity has been established for this device. Certication
has been documented and entrusted to the manufacturer.

System requirements
Your computer should have the following minimum requirements, in order for your TV
card to operate properly:
› Mainboard with a free PCI slot (v.2.1)
› Pentium® III 500 MHz or better
› MPEG 1 real-time recording: PIII® 800MHz or AMD Athlon® 800 or better
› MPEG 2 real-time recording: P4® 1.6GHz or AMD Athlon® 1.6 or better
› DVD real-time recording: P4® 2GHz or AMD Athlon® 2GHz or better
› 128 MB RAM (minimum), 256 MB RAM recommended
› Graphic card supported with DirectX 8.1
› Windows® 98 SE, Windows® ME, Windows® 2000, Windows® XP
› CD-ROM or DVD drive
› 20 MB free disk space for installation
› Extra free disk space on the hard drive for recording and video le editing
› Compatible Windows display; 24 or 32 bit True Color is recommended

Installation
Please follow the steps below, when installing the TV card:
1. Turn your computer o and disconnect it from its power source.
2. Please ensure that you follow all static electricity precautions, to prevent static elec-
tricity from damaging the components of your computer. Touch a metal object for a
moment to discharge or wear an antistatic strip bracelet.
3. Remove your computer’s case cover. (Please refer to your computer’s user manual
on removing the case cover.) Insert the TV card into the available PCI slot, making sure
it is completely and rmly inserted into the slot.
4. Replace the case cover and connect your computer again to a power source.
5. Start your computer.
Now all necessary cables can be connected to the card:
For antenna reception
1. Antenna for television reception (in case of bad weather it is recommended to use an
optionally available active antenna that can be purchased separately.).
Note: For optimal reception, we recommend using the X4-TECH Active-T!
For cable reception
The cable of your cable television connection.
2. FM antenna for radio reception (included in delivery).
3. Sensor for the remote control („Remote”connection).
Note: The sensor should be attached in such a way as to ensure visual contact bet-
ween the sensor and the remote control.
4. External end user device, e.g. DVD player or video camera („Video In”connection).
Note: If you do not want to connect an external device via the S-Video connection,
then you also have the opportunity to connect an external device by using a cinch

adapter (included in delivery).
5. Use the included 3.5 mm adapter cable to attach your TV card, as well as the sound
card to the„Video Out” connection.
Software installation for Windows 2000/XP
After a new boot sequence has been completed, Windows 2000/XP will automatically
identify your TV card as new hardware. Windows will inform you that new hardware
has been found.
1.3. Lieferumfang
Wenn Sie die Ware erhalten, prüfen Sie bitte den Inhalt auf Vollständigkeit
oder Beschädigungen.
Die folgenden Teile sollten enthalten sein:

Nachdem der Rechner vollständig neu gestarten worde ist, wird Windows 2000/XP
automatisch Ihre TV-Card als neue Hardware identifizieren.
Das Fenster erlischt automatisch, nachdem Sie die Software installiert haben.
Legen Sie die Installations-CD in ihr CD-Rom Laufwerk.
Die CD startet automatisch und auf dem Bildschirm erscheint das
Installationsmenü.

After software has been installed the pop-up window will disappear. Insert the instal-
lation CD into your CD-Rom drive. The CD will start automatically and an installations
menu will appear on screen.
Select „INSTALL SOFTWARE”to carry out the TV card installation program.

Software. Bestätigen Sie mit „OK“.

After a few minutes your system will conrm that the TV card driver installation has
been completed. Conrm by clicking on„OK”.
Now you can install the TV software.

Bestätigen Sie folgende Frage mit “Yes”.

Choose a preferred language and click on„Next” to continue.
You will have to accept the terms of the license agreement in order to continue with
software installation. Click on„Next” to continue on with the installation.

Installing DirectX version 9.0
The software can be found in the folder/DirectX on the installation CD.
Subsequent to the installation you will have to accept the license agreement by selec-
ting„I accept the agreement” in order to continue with the installation. Click on„Next”
to proceed with the installation.
Wenn dieses Fenster auf Ihrem Bildschirm erscheint, dann wählen Sie “Finish”, um
die Installation abzuschließen.
3.3. Installation von DirectX Version 9.0
Die Software befindet sich im Ordner /DirectX auf der Installations-CD.
Im Anschluss an die Installation wählen Sie “I accept the agreement” („Ich akzeptiere
die Vereinbarung!“) klicken Sie auf “Next”.
Wenn Sie Direct X der Version 9.0 oder eine neuere Version von Direct X bereits
installiert haben, dann klicken Sie auf abbrechen.
Wenn Sie die Installation abgeschlossen haben, dann wird Sie das System anweisen
den Computer neu zu starten.
Wählen Sie “Yes, I want Setup to restart Windows now.” (=“Ja, ich will meinen
Computer neu starten”) und klicken Sie auf “OK”.
3.4. Installation des Treibers unter Windows Vista
Nachdem der Rechner neu hochgefahren wurde, wird Ihre TV-Karte unter dem
Betriebssystem Windows Vista als neue Hardware erkannt.
Das obige Menübild schließt sich nach der Installation selbstständig,

If DirectX version 9.0 or a newer version from DirectX has already been installed, then
click on„Cancel”.
After installation, your system will recommend that you reboot your computer rst to
complete the driver installation.
Select „Yes, I want Setup to restart Windows now” and click on„OK” to conrm.
Driver installation for Windows Vista
After a new boot sequence has been completed, Windows Vista will automatically re-
cognize your TV card as new hardware.

installieren.
Wählen Sie Ihre Sprache (zum Beispiel „Deutsch“)und klicken Sie auf “OK”.
