Safety instructions and precautions
Handling y stop only
To a oid any accidents please don't handle the unit while you dri ing. Please stop and park the
ehicle at safety place and handle the unit casually.
Installation
Please read the following manual carefully before you install the unit. We recommend you to let
the technician install the unit in your ehicle.
Regular loudness
Please set the loudness of the unit to the appropriate le el so you were still able to hear exterior

noises especially traffic warning signals. Furthermore the higher loudness le el can damage your
hearing organs.
Repair of the unit
Do not open the unit. Do not try to repair the unit by yourself due to any emerging technical
problems. While opening the unit by yourself exists the danger to be electrocuted. Do not use the
unit any further since you detect any kind of technical problems. Lea e all the repair operations to
professional technicians. Due to flawed warranty seal the warranty becomes in alid.
Power supply
Use the unit connected only to 12 Volt on-board power supply. The minus (-) should be connected
with the ground (GND) (negati e). Due to the wrong grounding exists the danger of fire. In case of
doubt please consult with professional technicians.
Replacement of fuses
While replacing the fuse please make sure that the new fuse has the same properties as the old
one, especially the amperage.
Overheating
Do not occlude the ent holes to a oid the heat generation and accumulation in the unit.
Otherwise exists the danger of fire.
Regular temperature
Please make sure that the temperature inside the ehicle amounts to not more than +60 C. If it's
too hot inside the ehicle, do not turn the unit on until the inside temperature of the cabin
descends.
Cleaning of the unit
Please keep the unit clean and remo e the dust from it regularly. Please use for that a soft and dry
cleaning rag. Major soilings can be remo ed carefully with the wet cleaning rag. Do not use any
chemical or alcohol-containing detergents to a oid the damage of the unit's arnish.
Handling the touchscreen
Do not press the touch keys or other symbols too hard – it may lead to image distortions, unit
malfunctions and touchscreen damages. Do not use any sharp articles to use the touchscreen.
Please handle the touchscreen with your finger or with the appropriate stylus.
Moisture
To a oid the danger of fire or the electric shock do not put the unit in to the moist en ironment
(e.g. ad erse weather conditions, inappropriate wet cleaning etc.)

Installation
Installation notes
Here you can find rele ant installation notes and common information. The detailed installation
manual you can find on our homepage www. xomax.de. The printed ersion of a common
installation manual you can find in the package. We recommend you to let the technician install

the unit in your ehicle.
WARNING! Please read the following manual carefully before you install the unit.
Damages caused due to an inappropriate installation will not be co ered by warranty.
If you do not want to risk your warranty entitlement, please let the technician install the unit in
your ehicle.
To a oid a short circuit please disconnect the ehicle battery before the installation. To do it
properly please read the manual of your ehicle.
Make sure that your ehicle is equipped with a car radio slot of required size (1 or 2DIN)
As may be the case you will need a suitable faceplate, adapter or other accessories. These could be
pro ided from your local specialist supplier.
The connection cables may not be cutted or short-circuited. Otherwise the warranty becomes
in alid.
Before the installation please make sure that your ehicle has the 12 Volt on-board power supply.
The minus (-) should be connected with the ground (GND) (negati e).
Please tag the polarity of the a ailable speakers before you disconnect the ehicle battery.
A proper grounding of the unit's housing requires a clean ground connection. Thus the grounding
area should be rust-, stain- and dust-free.
Please ground the cable separately from other hea y current de ices such as an amplifier etc.
Please ensure that the colored cables are connected according to the wiring diagram. The wrong
wiring may lead to malfunctions or e en damages of the electric elements of the ehicle.
Please note that the connection cables of this unit and of the other de ices may ha e the same
purpose but the different color. For this reason while connecting this unit with the other de ices
please ensure that both of the cables in each case ha e the same purpose. To connect e erything
correctly please refer to the manuals of the both de ices.
Please ensure that the negati e speaker cable is in each case connected with the negati e speaker
terminal of the ISO port. Do not e er connect the negati e speaker cables with the ehicle body.
This unit is designed and construed for connection with 4 speakers. Do not combine this unit with
de ices that are designed and construed for connection with 2 speakers.
The speakers should feature the impedance of 4-8 Ohm and a sufficient wattage.
Please ensure that the speakers you are connecting with the unit are intact. Damaged speakers can
impair the unit.
To a oid a short circuit please isolate all cable junctions and endings of the unused cables with the

electrical tape.
All the cables should be layed and fixated tidy and properly. The cables should not contact any
mo able or hot objects.
If your ehicle doesn't ha e an "ACC" ignition position, please connect the red cable with the
ignition switch. Otherwise the unit will not turn off automatically, causing the discharging of the
ehicle battery.
To a oid a rogue and hazardous short circuit do not lay the yellow cable through the engine bay in
order to connect it with the ehicle battery.
Do not e er connect speaker cables among one another. In case you do not want to connect all the
4 speakers with the unit please isolate the endings of unused cables with the electrical tape to
pre ent a short circuit.
Do not e er connect the negati e speaker cables with the ehicle body.
To ensure a flawless performance of the unit the intergration angle should amount to +/- 30.

Startup operations
Usage of the remote control
Before the first usage please remo e the isolation plate. Aim the remote control at the IR recei er
on the front operating panel. The IR recei er should not be blocked.
As soon as the remote control does not work proper the battery should be replaced.
Do not expose the remote control to direct sunlight or air heater.
Replacement of the attery
The remote control is operated by CR-2025 Lithium battery. As soon as the remote control does
not work proper the battery should be replaced.
Replacement instructions:
1. Remo e the battery compartment: push it to the left first, then pull it out.
2. Remo e the old battery and insert the new one (CR-2025 Lithium).
3. Insert the battery compartment back into the remote control till it clicks into place.

Unit on/off
Press the POWER button to turn the unit on. If the unit is already on, keep the POWER button
pressed for a couple of seconds to turn it down.
AUX input
The AUX input is a 3,5 mm jack plug on the front operating panel. Herewith you can connect the
unit with on of the external playback de ices: MP3 player, smartphone, cellphone or tablet PC. An
adapter cable 3,5 mm jack-to-jack will be required.
Press the POWER / MODE button (perhaps se eral times) to get to AUX mode. If the external
de ice is connected with the unit, the playback is audible ia car radio loudspeakers. The playback
control can be achie ed ia external de ice only.
Insert a micro SD card
Insert a micro SD card into the slot with the label side to the right and the pin side to the left.
Make sure that the card is intact and dirt-free.
Insert a USB flash drive
Insert an USB flash dri e proper into a USB plug. Do not insert any hea y or big USB flash dri es in
order not to hit it accidently - it could cause damages of the USB plug or USB flash dri e.
Micro SD cards and USB flash dri es should ha e following file-system format: FAT32 or exFat.
Other types will not be supported.

Basic functions
1. POWER
Turns the unit on / off.
2. MODE
Switches between di erse modes (e.g. USB, SD, AUX, Radio etc).
3. LOUDNESS
Turns the function on / off.
4. MUTE
Mutes the unit / recreates the olume.
5. VOLUME
Boosts / reduces the olume.
6. BASS
Boosts / reduces the low frequencies. Press the SELECT button, choose the BASS, make your
adjustments ia rotary button.
7. TREBLE
Boosts / reduces the high frequencies. Press the SELECT button, choose the TREBLE, make your
adjustments ia rotary button.
8. BALANCE
Sets the ratio between the olume intensity of the left / right channels. Press the SELECT button,
choose the BALANCE, make your adjustments ia rotary button.
9. FADE
Sets the ratio between the olume intensity of the front / rear loudspeaker pairs. Press the SELECT
button, choose the FADE, make your adjustments ia rotary button.
10. EQUALIZER
Switches between EQ presets depending on the musical genre such as JAZZ, POP, ROCK. Press the
SELECT button, choose the EQ, select the required preset ia rotary button.
11. BEEP
Turns the computer audio signal on / off. Press the SELECT button, choose the BEEP, turn the
function on or off.
12. PRESETED VOLUME
Switches between the olume presets. Press the SELECT button, choose the P-VOL, choose the
required preset.
13. CLOCK
Sets the current time. Press the ELK button briefly to display the current time. Keep the button

pressed for a couple of seconds till the time prompt starts to twinkle. Use the arrow keys to adjust
the time and press the ELK button to confirm your adjustments.

Radio mode
1. Choose the frequency and
Press the BND button to switch to the radio mode and to select one of the frequency bands: FM1
→ FM2 → FM3 → AM1 → AM2.
2. Search for the radio stations
Being in the radio mode use the arrow keys to tune the frequency stepwise back or forth. Use the
arrow keys while the button SEEK is pressed to start the automatic radio station search backwards
or forwards. The found stations will be store automatically. There are 30 memory cells in total, 6
memory cells per one frequency band. Only the stations with the strong broadcasting signal will be
stored.
3. MONO / STEREO
If the stereo signal of a station is poor you can try to impro e it's quality by switching to the mono
mode. If the radio is in the stereo mode the prompt ST appears on the screen.
4. Store your favorite stations
There are 30 memory cells in total, 6 memory cells per one frequency band. Follow these steps to
create your own radio presets:
- choose the frequency band (BND button)
- find the radio station you want to store (scan the frequency band using the arrow keys)
- choose the memory cell in which you want to store the station (1 – 6) and hold the chosen preset
button pressed: the radio transmission will be shortly interrupted and subsequently resumed. It
means the station was stored.
- from now on to call up the required station just choose the corresponding frequency band
(BND) / radio preset (1 – 6).
5. LO/DX
This function allows you to ary the sensi ity of the radio recei er to find the radio stations much
distanced as well.
6. RESET
Resets the unit to the factory settings. All of the customer's settings and preferences will be
erased. This operation is recommended in rare cases if some operations cannot be proceeded
properly. The button has to be pressed and hold pressed for a couple of seconds.
RDS functions
Please note: the pro ided RDS functions (AF, TA and PTY) in some countries may be una ailable.
PTY function (Programme Type)
The Programme Type function allows to search for a station according to it's type (e.g. music or
education).
TA function (Traffic Announcement)
While this function is acti ated the unit switches automatically to the radio mode for the current

traffic announcement. After the announcement it switches back to the initial mode.
AF function (Alternative Frequency)
The AF function switches automatically to alternati e radio station as soon as you lea e the
recei ing area of the current station. We recommend you to deacti ate this function in-city.
Otherwise the searching starts each time you dri e through the tunnel.

USB / SD mode
As soon as you insert a alid USB flash dri e or SD memory card the unit switches to the
appropriate mode and starts the playback automatically.
The unit supports following file formats:
- *.mp3 / *.wma (music or other audio information)
- *.jpeg (photos or other steady isual information)
1. During the playback use the PREV / NEXT buttons to switch between the tracks back and forth.
2. Press the PLAY / PAUSE button to hold / to resume the playback
3. Press the INT button to de-/acti ate the INTRO function (playback of the first 10 seconds only of
each a ailable track)
4. Press the RPT button to de-/acti ate the repetiti e playback (of one song / of all the songs
within one folder / of all the folders)
5. Press the RDM button to de-/acti ate the random playback
6. Use the „Key 5 / Folder -“ and „Key 6 / Folder +“ buttons to step through the menus

AUX input

Press the MODE button (perhaps se eral times) to get to AUX mode. If the external de ice is
connected with the unit, the playback is audible ia car radio loudspeakers. The playback control
can be achie ed ia external de ice only.
