1 Safety
1.1 Generalities
DANGER!
DANGER FROM DISREGARDING THE SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS!
Disregarding the operating instructions and safety precautions
presented in these operating instructions will lead to serious in-
jury to people as well as damage to the device.
 The warnings and instructions in these operating instructions
must be observed.
Observe the following safety instructions:
 Do not leave the clipper unattended as long as the plug is
plugged in.
 Store the clipper out of reach of children.
1.2 Personnel requirements
yThis clipper may be operated only by persons who can be ex-
pected to carry out their work responsibly. Persons whose abil-
ity to react is undermined by, for example, drugs, alcohol or
medication should not be allowed to use the device.
yThe operator must be experienced in handling the animals to
be clipped.
yChildren are strictly prohibited from operating the device.
Unauthorised persons
CAUTION!
DANGER FOR AND FROM UNAUTHORISED PERSONS!
Unauthorised persons who do not meet the requirements de-
scribed here will be unable to recognise dangers in the work area.
 Prohibit access by unauthorised persons to the location where
the clipping is being performed.
 If in doubt, approach the persons and instruct them to leave the
work area.
 Suspend work until the unauthorised persons have left the
work area.

1.3 Dangers that can be caused by the device
1.3.1 Danger from electrical current
DANGER!
DANGER OF FATAL ELECTRIC SHOCK!
Fatal electric shocks can result from contact with electrically live
conductors or components!
 Always disconnect the charger power cord from the mains by
grasping the plug, not the cord.
 Before every use, check the clipper for externally visible dam-
age. If the clipper is damaged, do not use it.
 Only ever insert the charger's electrical plug into an undam-
aged socket.
 Never wrap the power cable around the clipper, and keep the
clipper away from hot surfaces and objects.
 Only permit repairs to the clipper to be made by authorised
dealers or the factory customer service department; this ap-
plies especially to the replacement of a damaged power cord.
 Before plugging the clipper in, compare the electrical connec-
tion data (voltage and frequency) on the nameplate with that
of your electric mains. These data must be identical so that no
damage occurs to the device. If in doubt, ask your specialised
electrical dealer.
 Do not under any circumstances open the housing of the clipper.
If voltage-bearing connectors are disturbed or the electrical
and mechanical construction is modied, there is risk of elec-
tric shock.
 Keep moisture away from the clippers. This can cause a short
circuit. If you suspect that moisture has penetrated the device,
do not switch it on again; instead take it to a repair shop.
 Never clip wet animals.
 Clean the clipper only when it is dry, using a brush or the en-
closed cleaning brush.
 Never submerge the clipper in water or other liquids.
 Always switch the clipper off before working on it. Pull the plug
from the socket to prevent the device from being switched on
inadvertently.

 Never operate this appliance with the air openings blocked or
while on a soft surface, such as a bed or couch, where it is pos-
sible for the air openings to be blocked. Keep the air openings
free of lint, hair, and similar objects.
1.3.2 Animals
CAUTION!
DANGER OF INJURY BY ANIMALS!
The noise of the clipper can trouble animals. A kick, an attack or
the body weight of the animal can lead to injuries.
 Just persons being experienced in handling with animals are
allowed to clip the animals.
 Before beginning shearing, remove foreign objects from the
coat (wire, wood etc.).
 Secure the animal sufciently and calm it before starting work.
 Proceed with caution when working.
 Call in a second person if necessary.
1.3.3 Blades
CAUTION!
DANGER FROM MOVING COMPONENTS!
The moving clipping blade and its sharp edges can cause injuries.
 Proceed with caution when working.
 Avoid any contact with the moving clipping blades.
 Do not touch the area around the clipping blades whilst the ma-
chine is still plugged in to a power source, even if it is switched
off. Before working on the clipping blade/clipping head, always
disconnect the electrical power rst.
 Do not use damaged shearing blades with blunt or missing
teeth. Only work with sharp shearing blades sharpened by a
specialist workshop.
 The upper blade of the shearing head is only held by the ta-
pered pins of the chicken feet. If the shear-pressure adjustment
head is released too much, the upper blade can y off and
result in injuries.

CAUTION!
DANGER OF BURNS!
Insufcient oiling of the clipping head will cause it to become hot.
This may agitate the animals.
 When clipping, oil the clipping blades and clipping head through
the lubrication opening provided for this purpose at least every
15 minutes, so that the blades do not run dry.
 The shearing blades may become hot after prolonged use.
1.4 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
CAUTION!
DANGER OF INJURY THROUGH INCORRECT OR MISSING PROTEC-
TIVE EQUIPMENT!
Personal protective equipment is required when working, in order
to minimise the possibility of endangering health.
 Always wear the protective equipment required for the current
task when performing work.
Antislip shoes. For protection against slipping on slippery un-
derground.
Protective goggles to protect eyes from ying parts.
Close-tting protective clothing with low resistance to tearing,
with tight sleeves and no protruding parts. This is primarily to
prevent injury if they become caught between moving parts of
the machine.
Do not wear rings, chains or other jewellery.
Wear work gloves to protect against injury.
The acoustic emission while operating the device is typically
72 dB(A). We recommend that you always wear ear protection
when working with the device.
2 Generalities

Read these instructions carefully before starting operation.
Basic requirements for a safe operation are the adherence of all
the information regarding safety and operation in this manual.

The device is designed exclusively for shearing sheep, goats and
llamas, alpacas and other camelidae.
Any other use or use extending beyond the above is considered
unauthorised.

4.2 Functional description

The clipper is used to shear sheep,
goats and llamas, alpacas and other
camelidae. Two comb-shaped blades
are the cutting tool. The comb plate
(2) closest to the skin of the animal is
xed and attached to the housing. The
top blade (3) is agitated crossways that
one. The upper blade is set in motion
with the help of two chicken feet. The
clipping pressure between the blades is
adjusted via the adjustable head (1).
5 Transport, packaging and storage
5.1 Scope of delivery

NOTE!
 Check to ensure the completeness of the contents and that
there is no damage. Please report incomplete package con-

5.2 Packaging
For the packaging, just non-polluting material is being used.
The return of the packaging saves raw materials and reduces the volume
of waste. Dispose of packaging materials that are no longer needed in
accordance with locally applicable regulations.
5.3 Storage
Store clipper and accessories on the following conditions:
 Do not store outdoor.
 Store dry and dust-free.
 Protect against solar irradiation.
 Avoid mechanical shocks.
 Storage temperature: 0 until 40°C.
 Relative humidity: max. 90%.
