Thank you for choosing "YAKOYA E58" color screen GSM/GPRS
digital phone.
This is a GSM/GPRS phone. In addition to common call functions, it
also provides you with a variety of practical functions including phone book,
64-chord ring, ringing or image alert for incoming calls, MP3 player,
recorder, calculator, timed power on/off, handsfree call. With this manual,
you can acquire a full understanding of the usage of this phone. Our
company reserves the right to revise contents in this manual without any
prior notice.

Attention and Precautions
Please read these brief rules. Violation of these rules might cause danger or
break laws.
1. Safety Precautions
1.1 Road safety comes first: When driving, care must be taken for using
phone; if driving conditions are poor, please pull up at road side to use
phone.
1.2 Swtich off your phone in hospitals: Please abide by relevant
regulations or rules. Please switch off when close to medical equipment.
1.3 Switch off your phone in aircrafts: Wireless phones can cause
interference. Using phones in aircraft is both dangerous and illegal.
1.4 Swtich off your phone when refueling: Do not use the phone at a
refuelling station or near fuels or chemicals.
1.5 Swtich off your phone when close to blasting area: To avoid
interfering with blasting operations, turn your phone OFF when in a
“blasting area” or in areas posted: “turn off twoway radio”. Obey all
signs and instructions.
2. Precautions When Using Phone
2.1 Interference: All phones are subject to interference, which will
affect their performance.
2.2 Use sensibly: Use phone only in its normal position. Please do not
touch antenna area unless necessary.
2.3 Use qualified servicing: Only qualified maintenance staff can
assemble or repair the equipment.
2.4 Waterproof: Your phone is not waterproof, please keep it dry.
2.5 Emergency calls: Make sure the phone is swtiched on and in service.
Input emergency service number and press Dial key, give your location
and do not end the call until told to do so.

3. Precautions When Using Batteries
3.1 Keep the batteries away from fire; do not dispose of batteries in a fire
lest there should be danger.
3.2 Do not dispose of used batteries in rubbish, and they should be sent to
designated recycling center.
4. Precautions for children
Keep the phone out of the reach of children, lest children treat it as toy
and cause personal injury.
5. Description of keypad keys
Left function key/Dial 2 key: Carry out the functions of the indicator
showed at the lower left corner of the monitor. Use it answer and dial a
phone call.
Right function key: Carry out the functions of the indicator showed at
the lower right corner of the monitor.
Dial 1 key: Use it answer and dial a phone call.
Ring_off key (Endkey): End or reject a call. Press and hold the key to
switch on/off the phone. In other circumstances, press the key to return to
standby state.
Number key: Enter numbers and characters. In standby state, press and
hold “1” to enter Voicemail, number 2-9 may be set up as shortcut keys

in phone setup; in menus, press number key to fast choose the menu
option.

Note: In this manual, "Press a key" means you press the key and then release
it immediately; "Press and hold a key" means you press the key and hold on
for 2 seconds or more before releasing it. 1, 2 (i.e. up, down, right and left
keys) are referred to collectively as Navigation key.
6. Getting Started
6.1. Battery
The battery at its initial condition is charged to 50% full, and can be used
after unwrapping. For the first three times of charging, do not recharge until
the battery is totally exhausted, so that the battery can reach its best usage
performance.
Note: Battery must be charged in a well ventilated place with surrounding
temperature at -10℃~+55℃, and it is imperative that a charger provided by
manufacturer is used. Using unauthorized charger might cause danger,
which also violates warranty terms prescribed by the manufacturer. If the
charging temperature is too high or too low, the phone will automatically
give warning and stop charging, so as to prevent damages to battery or
dangers.
6.2. Connecting to Network
6.2.1 SIM card: A valid SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) card must be
inserted in the phone before using it.
In order to prevent loss or damage of the info in the SIM card, it is necessary
to avoid touching metal contact surface, and keep SIM card far from
electricity current and magnet.
6.2.2 Switch on/off phone: To switch on or switch off phone, please press
and hold the Ring off key.

6.2.3 Unlocking SIM card: To prevent illegal usage, PIN (Personal
Identification Number) code is adopted to encrypt for protection of your
SIM card. Selecting this option and if having set up PIN code protection,
you have to enter PIN code each time you start it, unlocking SIM card to use
the mobile phone. For instance, if PIN1 setting is 1234, then enter the
following input: 1 2 3 4
Users can erase SIM card password; however, in this case SIM card cannot
prevent illegal usage.
Note: Your service provider will set up a standard PIN (4 to 8 digits)
number for your SIM card; you should change it into your private password
as soon as possible.
6.2.4 Unlocking phone: To prevent phone from being illegally used, you
can set up mobile phone lock Password for protection. Default Password is
1234; you can also change it by yourself.
If you forget mobile phone Password, you have to contact local authorized
repair center, so as to unlock your mobile phone’s Password.
6.2.5 Connecting to network: After SIM card is successfully unlocked, the
phone will automatically search available network (with searching showing
on the screen). Once the connection is made, the name of the service
provider will be displayed on the top central part of the text and graphic area.
At this time your phone has been connected to the service network.
Note: If the screen prompts "Emergency ", this means you have moved out
of the normal network coverage (service range) or your card has not passed
authentication, but you can still transmit emergency calls based on signal
strength.
7. Basic Functions
7.1. Making a call: When the logo of service provider appears on the
display screen, you can dial or receive calls. The info bar at the upper left
corner of the display screen shows network signal strength (when there are 5
info bars the signal is at its strongest).
The call quality is very likely to be affected by obstructions; therefore
movement in a small area can effectively improve call performance.

7.2. Emergency calls: As long as in the network service range (which can
be confirmed by checking the signal strength bars on the top left corner of
the screen), you can always call emergency service. If your network supplier
does not provide roaming service in your area, the screen will display
"Emergency", to inform you that only emergency call is permitted. If you
are within the network service range, you can also make emergency calls
even without the SIM card.
7.3. Answering a call: Simply press dialing key can answer an incoming
call. If an earphone has been connected, use the button on the earphone to
answer a call, and if it is not convenient for you to press it, set automatic
answer as on, assuring that the earphone is plugged on, so as to make calls
automatically answered while the phone rings or vibrates. If Any Key
answer function is chosen, pressing any key, other than Hangup key and
Right function key, can answer an incoming call.
7.4. Call records: Your phone can also store call records of the latest
missed calls, received calls, dialed calls, the time of last call as well as total
amount of received calls and total dialed calls for you.
7.5. Call options: In connected state, pressing Left function key “Options”
can enter call option, or pressing Right function key "H-free" to activate
speaker, Under activated-handsfree condition, press Right function key " H-
Held " to switch off speaker. Operation methods of call options are the same
with that of Function menu.
This call options can only be viewed during call process, moreover, the
functions of call waiting, call holding, and conference calls need service
support, please contact your service provider for details.
In the call options, you can make the following operations:
Hold single call: Make the current call hold.
End single call: End the current call.
New call: Enter new dialing interface.
Phone book: Enter Phone book menu.
Messages: Enter Short message menu.
Sound Recorder: Record the current call.
Mute: Setting of switches, which disables transmission of local call

when Mute function is on.
DTMF: Operations of DTMF switching on and off
Conference*: Enter multiple party conference call state. By
following the prompts, you can have the following functions: receive
waiting calls, add them into multiple party call, maintain the multiple
party call, talk privately with one party of the conference while
maintaining all other callers, connect one party in the call conference
with another party while exiting the multiple party call oneself, maintain
one party of the multiple party call and end current call and all other
maintained calls.
Note: The menu marked * items will only appear in special circumstances.
For conference function, it is necessary to apply for service supply to
corresponding service operator.
8. Menu Guide
Here we have listed the available functions, after browsing you will have a
good understanding of how to operate your mobile phone.
1. Call center
1.1 Call history
There are SIM1 log and SIM2 log menus. They have the same submenus.
1) Missed calls: Check the record of recent missed calls in SIM1 or SIM2.
2) Dialled calls: Check the record of the recent dialed calls.
3) Received calls: Check the record of the recent answered calls in SIM1 or
SIM2.
4) Delete call logs: Delete the missed call in SIM1 or SIM2, the dialed call
and the answered call records,or delete all the history records as well.
5) Call durations: Check the history of the prior call in SIM1 or SIM2. The
total dialed calls and the total answered calls as well as the resetting of all
the calls are available.
6) Call cost: Check the bill of the prior call and the total bill of all the calls
in SIM1 or SIM2, reset the call bill, and set the bill restriction, price and
tariff. It needs the network support.
7) SMS Counter: Check the number of sent and received short messages in

SIM1 or SIM2.
1.2 Call settings
SIM1 Call settings
1) Call waiting:
Activate: receive the alarm from the network the moment you have
got an incoming call during an ongoing call.
Deactivate: no alarm can be received from the network the moment
you have got an incoming call during an ongoing call.
Query status: inquire the current status with the network.
2) Call divert:
Divert all voice calls: all the incoming calls will be forwarded to a
designated number.
Divert if unreachable: the incoming calls will be forwarded to a
designated number when such calls fail to arrive at the dialed number.
Divert if no answer: incoming call will be forwarded to a designated
number if it is not answered after the specified no-answer time.
Divert if busy: the incoming calls will be forwarded to a designated
number when the local mobile phone is busy.
Divert all data calls: Forwarding of all incoming calls. This needs
the support of the network operator.
Cancel all diverts: set a forward function at OFF.
3) Call barring:
Outgoing calls:
All calls: no calls can be made.
International calls: no international calls can be made.
International calls except to home PLMN: the user can only call
the local numbers of the foreign country or the numbers in the host
country (that is the country of the network operator).
Incoming calls
All calls: no incoming calls can be answered.
When roaming: you are unable to answer calls when you use the
mobile phone out of the attributive service area.
Activate all:
Activate the barring on the calls, and this will require the network

restrictionpassword providedbythenetwork operator.
Cancel all
Cancel the barring on the calls, and this will require the network
restriction password provided by the network operator.
Change barring password
It is used to change the barring password. Entering the original
restriction password requires changing of the password.
SIM2 Call settings: The same as SIM1 call settings.
Incoming call black list: bar all the numbers on the list to call in.
Low battery Protect: to activate/deactivate the availability of making a
call when the battery charge is low.
SMS Reject: Your mobile phone supports the function reject by SMS
when incoming call.
More:
1) Auto redial: When this function is ON, the mobile phone will
automatically redial the number that has not been answered previously
after a period of time.
2) Speed dial:
Status: When it is on, you can long press number key to call the
number at standby mode.
Set number: you can set eight numbers for speed dial.
3) IP dial: Three groups of IP numbers can be edited and set at
maximum.
4) Call time display: call time can display at calling interface.
5) Call time reminder: prompt every time that you set at calling.
6) Auto quick end: auto restrict the time that you set.
1.3. STK:
STK service (SIM menu) provides certain additional services. You can
access this list only if the STK service is supported by your SIM card.
2. Phonebook:
You can use the phone book to store information about your contacts in your

phone. The phone book can store 500 contacts. It has the following features:
2.1 Quick Search: find the contact you want easily by typing the first
characters in its name. You can change the language you want to search with
by pressing the # key. In the options menu, the following options list will be
displayed:
View: check the attributes of the selected contact.
Add new contact: Add a new contact to SIM1, SIM2 or phone.
Edit: to edit all information of the selected contact.
Delete: delete the selected contact.
Copy: copy the selected contact to the SIM1 card, to the SIM2 card, to
the phone or to a file (save the contact as vCard file).
Send vCard: send the information of the selected contact to others via
file saved.
2.2. Search Contact: Select letter(s) you want and go directly to all contacts
beginning with this letter(s).
2.3. Add new contact: Add a new contact to SIM1, SIM2 or phone.
2.4. Delete: You can either delete all or delete one by one from (SIM1,
SIM2 or Phone).
2.5. Caller group: The caller groups include friend, family, VIP, Business
and other (the group names can be customized); the user can customize
caller ring tone and picture for different groups.
3. Settings
Edit the settings of the mobile phone according to requirements.
3.1. Dual SIM settings
■ Dual SIM open: use two GSM SIM cards simultaneously.
■ Only SIM1 open:Use SIM1 only.
■ Only SIM2 open:Use SIM2 only.
■ Flight mode: network will be disconnected temporarily.
3.2. Phone settings
■ Time and date:You can set home city, set time and date and their

formats, or set “update with time zone” in this menu.
■ Schedule power on/off: the phone will switch on/off automatically
according to the settings.
■ Language: Set the current language of the menus and interfaces.
■ Pref. input methods: Several input methods are available and you can
select one as the default input method.
■ Greeting text: Edit the startup greeting text for the phone.
■ Navigation key: Allow you to set a function respectively for the Up,
Down, Left and Right keys in the idle state.
3.3. Display:
■ Wallpaper: Set the wallpaper of the mobile phone.
■ Screen saver: Set the status and waiting time before activating the
screen saver.
■ Show date and time: When this option is ON, the date and time will
be shown on the screen in the standby interface.
■ Display SPN: to show the SPN names on the idle screen.
■ LCD backlight: Set the brightness and time of the backlight.
3.4. Network
■ SIM1 network setup
Network selection: If Automatic is selected, the mobile phone will
select the network automatically; if Manual is selected, the phone
will list all available networks.
Preferences: Select the preferred network operator. The default is
the network of your SIM card.
■ SIM2 network Setup: See “SIM1 network settings”.
3.5. Security:
Access “Security setting” and set security options to avoid illegal operation
of the mobile phone or SIM card and to protect your phone from
unauthorized access.
■ SIM1 security setup:
SIM1 lock: To set a SIM lock, set the PIN code. This can protect
your SIM card from illegal operations.
Note: If you input invalid PIN code for three times continuously, the

SIM card is locked and you need the PUK code to unlock the SIM
card. The default PIN code is 1234.
Fixed dial: If supported by your SIM card. If this service is activated,
you can only dial the telephone number in the fixed dial list. You
need to input PIN2 code to activate/deactivate this function.
Barred dial: If this function is on, you can’t call the numbers in the
list. This function needs network support.
Change password: In this menu, you can edit the PIN/PIN2 codes.
■ SIM2 security setup: See “SIM1 security setup”. (Note: SIM2
doesn’t have Call barring)
3.6. Restore factory settings
Restore the settings to default. You need to input the phone password first.
The default password for mobile phone is “1234”.
4. Multimedia
4.1. Audio player:
In the Audio Player menu interface, use OK key to play, pause or resume the
music. Use the up/down keys to increase/decrease the volume. Use the
right/left key to go to next/previous audio file in the play list. Use long
pressing on the right/left key to seek forward/backward in the audio file.
In the “List” menu interface, press the left soft key “Options”:
Play: to play the current music file.
Details: look over the details of the music file.
Add to ringtones: to add the music file to ring tones list
Add: to add a music file or all the music files in a folder. This option
is only available when the List auto gen. is off.
Remove: to remove the selected music from the playlist.
Remove all: to remove all music from the playlist.
Player settings:
List auto gen.: Set the on/off of this item. When this function is
on, the play list will be generated automatically by adding all the
music files in the “My Music” folder. No need to manually add
them.

Repeat: You can set the music circular play method; you can use
the left or right key to set it to Off, One or All.
Shuffle: Set the play sequence, and you can set it as On (random
play) / Off (play according to the current list sequence).
Background play: Set this option as on, and you can enable your
mobile phone to enter other operation interfaces (except for the
interfaces related to sound, games or camera) while playing music.
4.2. FM Radio:
This option allows you to listen to FM radio. You should plug in an
earphone before accessing the application. In the FM radio menu interface,
use Down key to turn on/off the FM radio. Use the */# key to increase/
decrease the sound volume. Use the right/left key to search for channels (if
the auto search is off, right/left key will increase/decrease the frequency by
0.1 MHz. If auto search is on, right/left key will search automatically for the
next/previous channel). Use Middle key “OK” to record/stop record the
sound from the radio. Use Up key to open/close auto search of channels.
Press the left soft key "Options" to set the following:
■ Channel list: displays the list of channels after auto search or after
manually entering them.
■ Manual input: allows entering frequency manually (press the # key to
enter “.”).
■ Preset Auto search: to search for all available frequency automatically
and save the result in Channel List menu.
■ Settings: Select ON/OFF for background playing. Select open/close
loudspeaker. Set the recording format, and Audio quality.
■ Record: Record the sound of the radio.
■ Append: for AMR files only, select sound recorded from the file manager
and append to it.
■ File list: to show, and play sound files recorded from FM radio.
4.3. Sound recorder:
In the sound recorder interface, Press the Middle key “OK”, then you will
enter to “Options” menu:
■ New Record: To start recording a new record.
■ List: This submenu will list the current recorded files with AMR, or WAV.

Select one item from the recording list and it will display the option menu of
the recording, which including the following contents:
Play: To play the currently selected recorded file.
Append: For AMR files, recording can be added to the current file.
Rename: Edit the name of the current recorded file.
Delete: Delete the current recorded file.
Delete all files: Delete all current recorded files.
Use as: to add the current selected recorded file to the ringtones.
■ Settings: To set the recorded file format (AMR or WAV), and to set the
audio quality (Low, High).
5. Messages:
5.1. SMS:
■ Write message: After editing the message, enter the following menus:
SIM1/SIM2 done: to insert the number/name of the contact to send
the message to it. You can add more than one recipient or by group.
Use templates: Allows you to insert a preset text messages to the
current message at the cursor’s place.
Insert Contact Information: Allows you to insert whole
information of selected contact from phonebook to the current
message at the cursor’s place.
Input Method: This menu offers a variety of input method options.
■ Inbox
SIM1 Inbox: View the received messages in Inbox. In the list menu
press the Left soft key to have the following options:
Write Message: Edit the current message.
View: to open the selected message.
Reply: Send message to the sender.
Reply and Save: Send message to the sender, then save it to outbox.
Chat: begin chat with sender.
Select Delete: select many messages to delete.
Delete all: Delete all the messages from the Inbox.
Copy all: copy all messages from SIM to Phone and vice versa.
Move all: move all messages from SIM to Phone and vice versa.

Select export: select many messages to export it to vcf file.
SMS select hidden: select many messages to be hidden from view in
the list.
Sort: to sort inbox list according to time or name.
Select a message in the list, and press the Left soft key to have the
following options:
Reply and Save: Send message to the sender, then save it to outbox.
Delete: Delete this message from the Inbox.
Forward: Forward the message to other contacts.
Copy/ Move to phone: to copy/move message from SIM to Phone (if
message is in the SIM).
Copy/ Move to SIM: to copy/move message from Phone to SIM (if
message is in the phone).
Delete same SMS: Delete all the messages received from same sender.
Use number: Pick up the numbers in the message and display them in
a list. You can select a number and call it, or save it to the phonebook or
send short messages to it.
Chat: begin chat with sender.
SIM2 Inbox: See “SIM1 Inbox”.
■ Outbox: Enter the Outbox and view the saved sent messages and
messages failed to be sent.
■ Drafts: The messages unprepared for sending are stored in the Drafts,
waiting to be modified and sent.
■ Templates: Edit, delete the selected template or create new message.
■ SMS settings
SIM1 message settings
Profile settings: Enter this submenu and the modes list will be
displayed. The mode numbers vary with the different network
supplier and the SIM card.

Common settings: You can activate or deactivate the delivery report
and reply path. You can also activate or deactivate saving the sent
messages.
Memory status: Display the occupied memory of SIM card and
mobile phone.
Preferred Storage: Select the storage position of the messages.
SIM2 message settings: See “SIM1 message settings”.
■ Signature Settings: open/close signature option, Set the signature text.
5.2. Chat: you can set up two chat rooms at most. Firstly, enter the chat
room to set it. You can set my nickname and the phone number of the other
party. After the setting is completed, select “Done” to start the chat, you can
carry out one-to-one chat with the other party through short message. During
the chat, you can choose to continue or end the chat.
5.3. Broadcast message: Cell broadcast refers to the public messages sent
by the operator. This service enables you to receive information related to
subjects like the weather, taxi, and hospitals from the operator.
Note: Broadcast message needs the support of the network operator.
6. Organizer
6.1. Calendar: Enter the “Calendar” and the calendar of the current month
will be displayed. Press the left soft key to enter the “Options” menu:
■Jump to date: input the required date and press OK to go to that date.
6.2. Alarm: At most, your mobile phone can set five alarm clocks (the
alarm clocks are still in effect when the phone is powered off). In the alarm
clock list displayed in the menu, choose an alarm clock for editing, you can
turn it on/off, set the time, ring mode and so on for the alarm clocks.
6.3. Calculator: Input the numbers you need to calculate with 0-9 keys and
input decimal point with # key. Click the arrows keys (UP, DOWN, RIGHT,
LEFT) to select the wanted function. Press the Right soft key to clear last

input or result. Press the Right soft key to exit the calculator and press OK to
get the result.
6.4. Stopwatch: You can set two types of stopwatches: “Typical stopwatch”
and “nWay stopwatch”.
6.5. Torch: To set the mobile torch (at the top of the mobile) to ON/Off.
7. Fun & Games:
This menu provides you with additional game functions. Due to upgrade of
software, some functions under this menu may subject to change, please
refer to your phone for actual functions.
8. File manager
File manager is used to manage the files on the phone. The mobile phone
and the memory card (if inserted) are available. The total memory space and
available space are displayed in the top of the screen.
Select a memory and perform the following operations:
Open: Press to list the contents and files under the selected memory.
New folder: Create a folder and edit its name.
Format: Format the memory card (all data will be deleted).
Open the memory card to open the folders inside it. If a folder is selected
already, the following options are available:
Open: Press it to list the folders and the files in the folder.
New folder: Create a folder and edit its name.
Rename: Change the name of the current folder.
Delete: Delete the current folder.
Sort by: Press to sort the folder and files by Name, Type, Time, Size, or
None (at random).
After selecting a file, press Option and you have the following options:
Use as: according to the file, if music you can use it as ringtone, or if it is a
vcf file you can use it as a contact.
Play: Only if the multimedia file is supported by the phone, this option
displays.

Details: Enter the menu to see the date for recent modification and the size
of the file.
Rename: Change the name of the file.
Copy: copy the selected file to a desired destination, press the Middle key
“Options” to select target folder.
Move: This operation is generally the same as Copy. The difference lies in
that the source file will not be kept after being moved.
Delete: Delete the file.
Delete all: Press to delete all files in the current folder.
Sort by: Press to sort the folder and files by Name, Type, Time, Size, or
None (at random).
9. User profiles:
Your mobile phone is provided with various modes so that you can define
the mobile phone ring tone according to different events and situations.
Silent Mode: Press # key for a long time in Standby Interface to enter the
mobile phone into Mute Mode. press # key again for a long time to exit from
Silent Mode and resume the mode set previously.
Access arbitrary mode and operate the personal settings in it as below:
Tone setup: Select and set one ringtone from the ringtones saved in the
mobile phone at present as the ringtone. Tones for incoming calls, alarm and
message warning tone includes built-in ringtone in the system and
user-define ringtone.
Volume: Set the volume by Up, and Down keys. And volume is built-in
with seven classes from 0-6, increasing in turn.
Alert type: you can choose any one of ring only, vibration only, vibration
and ring, and vibration then ring to be the current ringing method.
Ring type: You can select any one from Ring Once (Single), Continuous
Ring (Repeat) and Increasing Ring (Ascending) as the current ringtone
pattern.
Extra tone: turn ON/OFF the warning tone for warning, wrong prompts,
network connection and calling connection for the warning tone of different
situations.
