3. Assembly
In order for you to be able to take your Crossbuggy wherever you go, we
have reduced the amount of space it requires as far as possible. Simply re-
move the wheels, collapse the backrest and fold in the pull-bar – and your
Crossbuggy is ready to transport. Please follow the instructions carefully.
3.1 Attaching and removing the wheels
Your YippieYo Crossbuggy is equipped with two high-quality disc wheels
with quick-release axles (QR axles), enabling them to be attached or
removed quickly and simply. The tyres require no maintenance and the
axles do not need to be oiled or greased. In order to keep the wheels
maintenance-free the QR axles and the bearings need to be regularly
cleaned. If the wheels show sign of wear or become damaged, it is
essential that they are replaced with original parts.
Assembly:
1. Place the chassis carefully on a
at surface with the axle pointing
down. Ensure that the brake is
not engaged, otherwise the disc
will not t between the pads.
2. Using your thumb press the
black button on the QR axle and
push it through the wheel so that
a small part of the axle with the
two balls protrudes on the inner
side of the wheel (Fig. 1).
Fig. 1

Edition: February 2016
Fig. 2
3. Lift the buggy up slightly with
one hand and, using the other
hand, position the wheel so that
the disc brake is located be-
tween the two black brake pads
and the QR axle can be pushed
into the axle tube. (Fig. 2)
Fig. 3
4. Press and hold the black button
and push the QR axle into the
axle tube until it locks rmly into
position. (Fig. 3)
5. Repeat the procedure with the
second wheel.
6. Engage the parking brake to
ensure that the buggy does not
roll away.
Warning! Before use check that both wheels are locked in place
in the axle tube and that the brake discs are located between the
brake pads. Risk of injury!
Please note that each wheel is
designed specically to be tted
in either the right or the left hand
side. To ensure this is correct the
tyre tread zigzag design should be
pointing forwards.

6
Removing the wheels:
1. Firstly, release the brake then push the black button on the QR axle.
Pull the QR axle out of the axle tube as far as the wheel so that only
a small part of the axle with the two balls is visible on the inner side of
the wheel. (Fig. 1)
2. Slide the brake disc out from between the two brake pads, then re-
move the entire wheel. (Fig. 2)
3.2 Collapsing and pulling out the backrest
The backrest can be quickly and easily collapsed for transport purposes.
Pulling out the backrest::
1. Lift the backrest up until the two
black safety clips engage with
the crossbar on the back.
(Fig. 4)
2. Lock the clips, one at a time, by
pressing them down with both
thumbs until they click into place
and are rmly clamped around
the crossbar. (Fig. 5)
Collapsing the backrest:
1. To release the backrest press the
two safety clips up using both
thumbs until the backrest disen-
gages from the crossbar.
2. Fold the backrest forward onto
the seat cushion for transport.

3.3 Collapsing and pulling out the pull-bar
The pull-bar can be quickly and simply collapsed for transport purposes.
1. When the buggy is to be used,
pull out the pull-bar until the
small pin with the red button
locks into place in the hinge
joint. (Fig. 7)
2. For ne adjustment, the cam
lever can be rotated in both
directions. (Fig. 8)
The cam lever must be set in
such a way that considerable
strength is required to open and
close it.
3. Push the cam lever inward as
hard as you can so that the
hinge joint is immobilised.
(Fig. 9)
To release the hinge joint, pull the cam lever away from the joint. Next pull
the red pin all the way out to fully release the locking mechanism. Then
simply collapse the pull-bar and place it over the already collapsed back-
rest and the buggy is ready to transport.
Warning! Always check that the hinge joint is fully locked and
that all locking mechanisms are securely engaged.
Risk of injury!

3.4 Putting on and removing the seat covers
When you order your YippieYo from us, then it generally comes assembled
and ready for use, i.e. the seat covers are already on. If you want to re-
move the seat covers for purposes of cleaning or in order to put on a new
set of seat covers, then please note the following information:
1. To remove the seat cushion open
the two Velcro® fasteners on
the underside of the buggy with
which the seat cushion is atta-
ched to the seat shell.
2. Next, pull the two crotch belts
through the slits in the seat shell
and seat cushion by turning the
black end pieces of the belt in
such a way that the short sides
can be fed through the slits.
(Fig. 10)
To put on the seat cushion follow the above instructions in the reverse
order.
Removing and putting on the back cushion
1. To remove the back cushion pull it upwards over the backrest and pull
the back of the cushion (with the mesh) forward over the backrest.
2. Next, feed the black end pieces of the safety harnesses with the short
side through the slits in the backrest and the back cushion. The cush-
ion can then be removed entirely from the buggy.
To return the back cushion to the backrest follow the above instructions
in the reverse order, i.e. feed the belt end pieces through the slits in the
cushion and backrest rst, then pull the cushion over the backrest.

Putting on the side bolsters:
1. Feed the side bolster aps through the four slits between the seat pan
and the tubular frame. Place the upper part of the bolster over the
armrest so that the nger guard element is positioned between the two
upper slits and the side bolster.
2. Pull the rubber cord through the eyelets and connect the upper and
lower eyelets. Begin at the back end of the buggy and pull both cord
ends at the front through the cord stopper. (Fig. 11)
3. With the help of the cord stopper tighten the rubber cord to tauten the
side bolsters. For extra safety you can tie a knot in each of the cord
ends.

3.5 Adjusting, tting and removing the safety harnesses
The ends of all ve harness straps (two shoulder straps, two pelvic straps,
one crotch strap) are attached to the buggy by means of end brackets.
You can release all ve strap ends by
turning the end brackets and passing
them with the shorter side through
the slits in the buggy then through
the slits in the seat cushion. (Fig. 12)
To t the harnesses follow the above
instructions in the reverse order:
Pass the short side of the end bra-
ckets of the straps rst through the
seat cushion/back cushion slits, then
through the slits in the buggy itself.
You can adjust the length of the
straps using the two adjusters on
the shoulder straps. Pull upwards to
shorten the straps, downwards to
lengthen the straps. (Fig. 13)

4. Adjusting the disc brakes
Your Crossbuggy comes, as standard, with a high-quality brake system.
Using the brake lever on the pull-bar you can brake while on the move and
activate the parking brake when at a standstill. The braking power is distri-
buted over both disc brakes by means of a brake distribution device which
is directly connected to the wheels.
The parking brake
To engage the parking brake pull the
brake lever on the pull-bar and, using
your thumb, push the silver-coloured
locking lever forward towards the
Bowden cable. (Fig. 14)
To release the parking brake, pull
the brake lever beyond the locked
position. This automatically causes
the locking lever to spring out of
the locked position and the brake is
released.
Adjusting the brakes
The brakes can be adjusted at three
points: The adjustment screw on
the brake lever on the pull-bar, (this
changes the settings on both
brakes, g. 15), and the two adjust-
ment screws on the brake pads (here
you can adjust the braking action of
the two wheels independently of one
another, g. 16). In the latter case
you must open the locknut rst, then
make the necessary modications
using the adjustment screw. Finally,
ensure that the locknut is tightened
again.
