Warning: Strong reflected laser beam back into the SC output may
damage the SC.
It is recommended to use more than 50% of the power,if you need low
power, you can via external attenuation.
The higher the power, the more stable the spectrum.
Product Overview
A. Introduction
Supercontinuum source SC-5-CFS is a cost effective supercontinuum
laser with single mode CFS connector output. With a total output power of
more than 1 W covering a broad spectral range of 470nm to 2400nm, the
system is an ideal light source for fiber component characterization, fiber
sensing, OCT and other areas. The system is based on self-designed highly
reliable seed laser offering unique reliability and performance. SC-5-CFS
can replace the traditional ASE, SLD and Lamp systems in many
applications.

B. Front panel’s function
a) Interlock : Connect the Interlock (as following) when use the Laser;
b) USB: Connect the computer to control the Laser;
c) Bluetooth: To connect the Mobile equipment to control the Laser;
d) Power Interface: Connect the Power Adapter;
e) Output: the Laser output.
Cautions:
Please increase or decrease the power gradually to the
maximum or minimum.

A. Software setting
Before the operation, you should install the Laser USB driver, connect
the Power Adapter and the Interlock and make sure the USB cable
communicated well.
a) Open the software as follow;
b) You could see the operational window.
B. Switch on the Laser
a) Take off the protection cap of output fiber;
b) Click the “Laser On”, Replied “Laser on”;
c) Input Power from 0% →30%→50% →80%→100%

gradually, and click the “Setting” every time, Replied
“Power set”;
C. Switch off the Laser
a) Decrease the power from 100%→80%→50%→30%→0%
gradually, and click the “Setting” every time; Replied
“Power set”;
b) Click the “Laser off”;
c) Take on the protection cap of output fiber;
d) Please disconnect the Power Adapter and Interlock while it’s
in idle state for a long time.
Bluetooth Control
A. Software setting
Bluetooth Control APP:
a) Find the “YSL-APP.apk” in the UBS disk, install in your
mobile or pad;
b) Download APP in this website:

c) Or scan the two-dimensional code to download the APP:

B. Bluetooth Connect
a) Connect the Bluetooth, enter the password:1234, the Open the
software as follow;
You could see the operational window.
C. Switch on the Laser
a) Take off the protection cap of output fiber;
b) Click the “On/OFF”, Replied “Laser on”;
c) Input Power from 0% →30%→50% →80%→100%
gradually;
D. Switch off the Laser
a) Decrease the power from 100% →80% →50%
→30%→0% gradually;
b) Click the “On/OFF”;

c) Take on the protection cap of output fiber;
d) Please disconnect the Power Adapter and Interlock
while it’s in idle state for a long time.
Failure Alarm
Alarm description:
Error 1-5: circuit module alarm
Error 6: frequency alarm
Error 7: temperature alarm
Error 8: InterLock alarm

Daily Maintenance and Storage
A. Clean and maintenance
Please cover the output head with the dust-cap while it’s in idle to avoid
dust pollution;
Keep the laser body clean, don’t let the body and power adapter touch

Temperature: 25 ℃ (± 20 ℃), humidity: 60% or less.
C. Operation condition
Temperature: 25 ℃ (± 5 ℃), humidity: 60% or less.
Safety considerations
a) Strong reflected laser beam back into the SC output may
damage the SC;
b) Don’t look at the emission port at any time in any case;
c) Don’t put things in the air passage in case it’s clogged;
d) Don’t place heavy objects on the laser;
e) Don’t put the output toward people or any other reflective
surface in case causing any personal injury;
f) Don’t check the laser directly with your eyes unless you sure the
device is in power-down state while the laser may lunch infrared
and ultraviolet light invisible but harmful to your eyes;
g) Be sure that the laser is out of power before checking the device;
h) Don’t stare at the emission port directly even you wear the laser
protective glasses;
i) Don’t put any low ignition substance on the laser such as the
flammable, explosive materials etc;
j) Be sure that the laser is placed in non-professionals can’t touch;

k) Don’t shoot the laser light to the glass since the normal glass
with about 4% reflectivity and reflect light back to your eyes to
cause harm;
l) Please take off your watch when you use the laser in case the
watch surface reflecting light into your eyes;
m) Please use a detector or conversion film to locate the laser light
since the light beyond 800nm is totally invisible;
n) We strongly recommend that you should wear a pair of laser
goggles corresponding to laser in specific wavelength to protect
your eyes when you using the laser for working;
o) We recommend that you wear a long suit of white clothes. For it
will not burn your clothes then cause a fire even the laser irradiate
to your body.
